  friends, I have to trouble you as I couldn't find a solution after trying for a long time. I have 3 columns of data. x, y, and the stress value (S) at every point (x, y). I want to generate a 2D color plot displaying continuous color change with the magnitude of the stress (S). The stress values increase from -3*10^4 Pa to 4*10^4 Pa. I only have hundreds of data sets for an area, but I want to see the stress magnitude (read from the color) at every location (x, y). What Matlab command should I use? Thank you very much!   Hi, I have never used the datagridview in any other scenario other than one where it is populating by a database so suddenly my mind goes blank... I have 10 tubes, each with 8 vertical positions within it, so I have a 10 by 8 grid basically. Each has of those slots has (or not) an image in a folder. How do I get a datagridview to reflect this information, draw a grid, check the folder and if the image exists paint it white, and if not paint it red? Sorry it if sounds a little odd, thanks, R.

  How to get number range in java? for instance how can verify is the number 2389 within 10 numbers from 2400. its not but 2389 is. Ok here is the rephrase : Number 1000 is the range number 990 is comming in the loop, I return true because the between 990 and 1000 is 10 numbers diference. In comes the next number 989 range is always 1000, I return false because the between 989 and 1000 is 11 numbers diference. In comes the next number 1013 range is always 1000, I return false because the between 1013 and 1000 is 13 numbers diference.

  I need to search through a directory which contains many sub directories, each which contain files. The files read as follows question1234_01, where 1234 are random digits and the suffix _01 is the number of messages that contain the prefix, meaning they are apart of the same continuing thread. find . -name 'quest*' | cut -d_ -f1 | awk '{print $1}' | uniq -c | sort -n example output: 1 quest1234 10 quest1523 This searches for all the files then sorts them in order. What I want to do is print all the files which end up having the most occurrences, in my example the one with 10 matches. So it should only output quest1523_01 - 11

However, it would be nice to know the actual logic behind it. Anyone care to explain?

  suppose I have a list of coordinates: data = [[(10, 20), (100, 120), (0, 5), (50, 60)], [(13, 20), (300, 400), (100, 120), (51, 62)]] and I want to take all tuples that either appear in each list in data, or any tuple that differs from all tuples in lists other than its own by 3 or less. How can I do this efficiently in Python? For the above example, the results should be: [[(100, 120), # since it occurs in both lists (10, 20), (13, 20), # since they differ by only 3 (50, 60), (51, 60)]] (0, 5) and (300, 400) would not be included, since they don't appear in both lists and are not different from elements in lists other than their own by 3 or less. how can this be computed? thanks.

  I'm studying software engineering, and came across this exercise: it asks to write a recursive function in C language that receives a positive integer and an empty string, and "translates" the number into a string. Meaning that after calling the function, the string we sent would contain the number but as a string of its digits. I wrote this function, but when I tried printing the string, it did print the number I sent, but in reverse. This is the function: void strnum(int n, char *str) { if(n) { strnum(n/10, str+1); *str = n%10 + '0'; } } For example, I sent the number 123 on function call, and the output was 321 instead of 123. I also tried exchanging the two lines within the if statement, and it still does the same. I can't figure out what I did wrong. Can someone help please? NOTE: Use of while and for loop statements is not allowed for the exercise.

I can tweak my PHP code but I think the operation would be way simpler if I could just retrieve the rows in such an order that all parents come before their children. I could do that if I knew the level for each node: SELECT category_id, category_name, parent_id FROM category ORDER BY level -- No `level` column so far :( Can you think of a way (view, stored routine or whatever...) to calculate the node level? I guess it's okay if it's not real-time and I need to recalculate it on node modification.

• Android App crashing on one device only

  I am working on a new game that works perfectly on my test devices, 7-inch tablets and smartphones. But it crashes on my Galaxy Tab2 10-inch tablet with an Out of memory error. It always crashes when I start to play a second game! I have spent a full week checking the codes and I cannot figure out what is wrong. When I play from the menu screen, everything works fine. When I want to replay a game level from the level screen, the game will crash on the second launch. The level screen is made of 3 fragments, each with 32 buttons (4kB in size). I tried to keep only one fragment in memory with viewPager.setOffscreenPageLimit(1); but it does not solve the problem. Could someone stir me in some direction as to where to look for the potential problem? Why is the 10-inch tablet the only one to crash? Thanks.

• Dictionary as parameter, where the Value-Type is irrelevant

  Hi folks, I have a function, that returns the next higher value of a Dictionary-Keys-List compared to a given value. If we have a Key-List of {1, 4, 10, 24} and a given value of 8, the function would return 10. Obviously the type of the Value-Part of the Dictionary doesn't matter for the function, the function-code for a Dictionary<int, int> and Dictionary<int, myClass> would be the same. How has the method-head have to look like, when I want to call the function with any Dictionary, that has int as key-Type and the value-Type is irrelevant? I tried: private int GetClosedKey(Dictionary<int, object> list, int theValue); but it says that there are illegal arguments, when I call it with a Dictionary. I don't want to copy'n'paste the function for each different value-type that my function may be called. Any idea, how to accomplish that? Thanks in advance, Frank

  I'm wanting to store items in my database with a DATE value for a certain day. I don't know how to get the current Monday, or Tuesday, etc. from the current week. Here is my current database setup. menuentry id int(10) PK menu_item_id int(10) FK day_of_week date message varchar(255) So I have a class setup that holds all the info then I was going to do something like this... foreach ( $menuEntryArray as $item ) { if ( $item->getDate() == [DONT KNOW WHAT TO PUT HERE] ) { // code to display menu_item information } } So I'm just unsure what to put in "[DONT KNOW WHAT TO PUT HERE]" to compare to see if the date is specified for this week's Monday, or Tuesday, etc. The foreach above runs for each day of the week - so it'll look like this... Args> void something(Args... args) { std::tuple<Args...> tuple; // not initializing for sake of example std::get<0>(tuple) = 5; } It works if you call it like so: int x = 10; something<int>(x); However, it does not work if you call it like this: int x = 10; something<int&>(x); Because of the assignment to 5. Assuming that I cannot, for whatever reason, initialize the tuple when it is defined, how might I get this to work when specifying the type as a reference? Specifically, I would like the tuple to be std::tuple<int> even when Args... is int&.

• MySQL LEFT JOIN issue with three WHERE statements

  I am building a note taking app for myself with tag filtering functions, but am having an issue when trying to grab notes with the tags. The tag filter needs to use AND not IN, because it will help better narrow down what I am looking for. My tables are configured like this: + notes note_id | note_title | note_uid + tags tag_id | tag_title + notes_tags nt_id | nt_note_id | nt_tag_id The notes_tags table keeps track of all notes' tags. I am not worried about returning any information about tags, so here is an example LEFT JOIN I am using currently to only get notes with only 1 tag. SELECT * FROM notes_tags LEFT JOIN notes ON note_id = nt_note_id WHERE note_uid IN ( 1 ) AND nt_tag_id = 10 This query runs perfect, it grabs all of the notes with that single tag. However, I am having issues "pinpointing" my notes using a query like this: SELECT * FROM notes_tags LEFT JOIN notes ON note_id = nt_note_id WHERE note_uid IN ( 1 ) AND nt_tag_id = 10 AND nt_tag_id = 11 What am I doing wrong with the syntax?

  I'm looking for the equivalent of Java's thread.join() in PL/SQL. I.e. I want to kick off a number of jobs (threads), and then wait for them to finish. How is this possible in PL/SQL? I'm thinking of using dbms_job.submit (I know it's deprecated). dbms_scheduler is also an alternative.   I am new to VBA and I am struggling trying to make this work. I am in need of a macro that will process each cell\column on Sheet1 and put the results on Sheet2. I'm sure this is pretty easy for those who are more advanced with VB code. It contains many columns.. Anytime we encounter a — or an empty cell, we populate the cell with -999 (see the example on Sheet2) on the first column, which contains "0-2". Then we create 2 new columns and populate them with 0 on the first column and 2 on second column (see example on Sheet2). If a value is found on only one side, we then populate both sides with the same number. I also have an invoice table that is dbo.invoices with invoicecompanyId column (which is the same as the companyId on the other table) and it also has a column called invoicedate. • trouble adding a rectange in actionscript

  I have a rectange that I've created and set its individual properties like so var aRect:Rect = new Rect(); aRect.x = 10; aRect.y = 10; aRect.width = "15%"; aRect.height = "15%"; addChild(aRect); I have 2 problems that the compiler seems to be choking on. The first is that the compiler chokes on 15% and "15%", with or without the quotes, neither works. The second is that adding the rectangle doesn't work. I tried all the following, but nothing works. addChild(aRect); Application.addChild(aRect); Application.application.addChild(aRect); stage.addChild(aRect); What's the deal, I thought actionscript would be nicer than mxml.
