• Curl Wrapper Class does not return any data even though it worked previously?

  We changed servers and installed all necessary software and just cannot seem to pin point what is going on. A simple CURL request does not return anything. Command Line CURL commands work just fine. We are using a wrapper for CURL utilizing streams. Do PHP streams require any out of the ordinary configuration? We are using the latest Lamp stack. The leave event looks like: private void txtbox_startdate_Leave(object sender, EventArgs e) {} The trouble is of course if I try and call it in this manner: txtbox_startdate_Validating(sender, e) An error is raised because in this case 'e' is an EventArgs whereas the validation function wants a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs and so, how do I convert EventArgs to a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs or create one so that I can call my validation function? Please clarify these things. Destructor & IDisposable.Dispose are two methods for freeing resources that are not not under the control of .NET. Which means, everything except memory. right? using blocks are just better way of calling IDisposable.Dispose() method of an object. Question1: If each image size is say 10MB. Then does this bmp object occupy atleast 10MB? What I mean is, will it make completely new copy of entire image? or just refer to it? Question2:should I or should I not put the statement1 in using block? My Argument: We should not. Because using is not for freeing memory but for freeing the resources (file handle in this case). If I use it in using block. It closes file handle here encapsulated by this bmp object. It means we are also closing filehandle for the caller's img1 object. Which is not correct? As of the memory leak. No there is no scope of memory leak here. Because reference bmp is destroyed when this method is returned. Which leaves memory it refered without any pointer. So, its garbage collected. Am I right? But I had a couple places in code using this. He recommended using just UpdateCash and sending in the ID for CAsh and field I want to update. Well the problem is I have 2 places in code using my original method. And those 2 places are updating 2 completely different fields in the Cash table. Before I was just able to get the existing Cash record and shove it into a Cash object, then update the properties I wanted to be updated in the DB, then send back the cash object to my method above. I need some advice on what to do here. I have 2 methods and they have the same signature. And I can't go too generic, for example: UpdateCashTransaction(int cashID, paypalTransactionID) What if we have different types of transactionIDs that the cash record holds besides just the paypalTransactionInfoID? such as the creditCardInfoID? Then what? Transaction doesn't tell me what kind. And furthermore what if you're updating 2 fields so you have 2 params next to the cashID param: UpdateCashTransaction(int cashID, paypalTransactionID, someOtherFieldIWantToUpdate) see my frustration? what's the best way to handle this is my boss doesn't like my first route?

• Why Emacs/Vim/Textmate? Isn't Xcode good enough?

  Hi I mostly do C++, Objective-C programming. And I found Xcode plus an auto completion/macro plugin (Completion Dictionary) quite adequate. However, all people seem to praise over their pure text editors. I tried Textmate for a bit; liked its simplicity but dislike its files/framework handling. Am I missing something here? Or, do Vim or Emacs have auto-completion as good as Xcode?

• Missing parameter error after running MySql query

  Hello, I'm completely new to MySql and haven't used SqlDataSource with UpdateParameters before, so I'm probably missing something very obvious. When trying to update a record, the update does happen but then throws an error saying "'id' parameter is missing at the statement". So the query works and the database gets updated as it should, but an error is thrown afterwards. Some how i cant Figure out why the callback is being called twice, my doubt was that the callback is getting fired by each thread opened(the main Upload , and TUpload), however i dont know how to test if thats the cause. Note: The reason behind the many /**/ Comments is to indicate that the functions do more than just opening threads, and threading is being used to make sure no blocking occurs (there a couple of "Signal.WaitOne()" around the code for synchronization)

The fiscal year of my company starts on 1 September and ends on 31 August.
