• OpenGL Mapping Textures to a Grid Stored Inside Vertex Array

  I am writing a test to verify something. This is not production code, just verification code. So I would appreciate it if the specific question was answered. I have code that uses indices and vertices to draw a set of triangles in the shape of a grid. All the vertices are drawn using glDrawElements(). Now for each vertex I will set its corresponding Texture Coordinates to 0 or 1 for each set of triangles that form a square in the grid. Basically I want to draw a collage of random textures in each one of the "squares" (consisting of two triangles). I can do this using the glBegin() and glEnd() method calls inside a for loop using the fixed functional pipeline, but I would like to know how to do this using Vertex Arrays.

• Getting All categories in external page.

  This is very basic magento question i guess. I want to first get all the store categories, then loop through them to get their sub-categories and products and similarly continue till the last sub-category. I will be using this in an external page having Mage::app() declared at the top of the page. I am not aware of the Magento API's(if thats wat they are called) to use to get this functionality. Remember I am not using this in any of the templates, so something like getCurrentCategory() will not work here i guess. Also please guide if there are any good resources to search for particular functionality in magento and API's to implement it, or am i doomed to go through their phpdoc to know the list of methods. Any help here will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I'm looping through undefined properties as well. The method pl.showHand() returns a ArrayList of a user defined class 'Card'. Inserting a println() inside the loop shows the print, so the code is being executed but the Panel panelplay isnt showing card Images.

  I am using javascript map to store keys and values.Later on I check if specified key is present in map or not, but it sometimes gives correct result but sometimes it dont.I tried to print the map using console.log(mapname), it shows all keys, but i i try to check if some specified key is presnt sometimes it gives wrong answer.   I am modifying QuartzDemo example app and want to do set and read values of integer type variables in other classes which are already included. For example, in MainViewController.m I want to set a numeric value (simple numbers from 1-100) to a variable which is then going to be called (read) in file QuartzImages.m. Question is how to define variable properly, set and access (read) the value.   I have a html table in a view MVC4 that I am sending to excel as output. Inside the view page I have some columns that have multiple lines that are built with forloops within the HTML. What's the best way to add the or \r\n so that excel renders it correctly? I have a table and inside I build each row looping thru a recordset. In each row I also loop thru different recordsets to populate columns within each row so that some of the columns may contain more than one value and they should show in different lines in the table that will export to excel.

Basically I have multiple text files which contain velocity values as such: 0.259515E+03 0.235095E+03 0.208262E+03 0.230223E+03 0.267333E+03 0.217889E+03 0.156233E+03 0.144876E+03 0.136187E+03 0.137865E+00 etc for many lines... What I need to do is convert all the values in the text file that are less than 1 (e.g. 0.137865E+00 above) to an arbitrary value of 0.100000E+01. While it seems pretty simple to replace specific values with the 'replace()' method and a while loop, how do you do this if you want to replace a range? thanks

• Is it a problem if i query again and again to SQL Server 2005 and 2000?

  Window app i am constructing is for very low end machines (Celeron with max 128 RAM). From the following two approaches which one is the best (I don't want that application becomes memory hog for low end machines):- Approach One:- Query the database Select GUID from Table1 where DateTime <= @givendate which is returning me more than 300 thousands records (but only one field i.e. GUID - 300 thousands GUIDs). Now running a loop to achieve next process of this software based on GUID. Second Approach:- Query the database Select Top 1 GUID from Table1 where DateTime <= @givendate with top 1 again and again until all 300 thousands records done. It will return me only one GUID at a time, and I can do my next step of operation. What do you suggest which approach will use the less Memory Resources?? (Speed / performance is not the issue here).

• Finding the most similar numbers across multiple lists in Python

  In Python, I have 3 lists of floating-point numbers (angles), in the range 0-360, and the lists are not the same length. I need to find the triplet (with 1 number from each list) in which the numbers are the closest. (It's highly unlikely that any of the numbers will be identical, since this is real-world data.) I was thinking of using a simple lowest-standard-deviation method to measure agreement, but I'm not sure of a good way to implement this. I could loop through each list, comparing the standard deviation of every possible combination using nested for loops, and have a temporary variable save the indices of the triplet that agrees the best, but I was wondering if anyone had a better or more elegant way to do something like this.   Hi, Assuming in R, I have a data.frame with the first column representing the time (as POSIXct). The rest of the columns (e.g., columns 2) are numeric data. I would like to group time into 3-minute intervals. Each interval will the the average of values that falls into that particular interval. Right now, I have a for-loop that iterates through the time column and generate the interval on the fly. I am wondering if there's a more elegant way to accomplish the same thing? Thanks in advance. For instance, I would like for THIS to happen: myfilearray[1]array[2]endl; Obviously, the "endl" just isn't allowed. Is there another way to do this? Edit---thanks for the quick responses guys! From a text file, I'm trying to store two strings from that file into arrays and then do the same with the next line (or until I desire, using a for loop) Using strings is important to me as it will make my future program a lot more flexible.

  From what I read about Java NIO and non-blocking [Server]SocketChannels, it should be possible to write a TCP server that sustains several connections using only one thread - I'd make a Selector that waits for all relevant channels in the server's loop. Is that right, or am I missing some important detail? What problems can I encounter? (Background: The TCP communication would be for a small multiplayer game, so max. 10-20 simultaneous connections. Messages will be sent about every few seconds.)

• NSArray : release its objects, but keep a pointer to it.

  Hello, I declare an NSArray in my code then building the array from another array. I process my NSArray and when I'm finished, I would like to release the objects, but I'm reusing this pointer to NSAarray again later to do the same process (creating the array from another array, process then releasing).. So I need to keep the pointer. What should I do ? Here is roughly what I want to do, the buildArray is creating and returning an autoreleased NSArray : NSArray *myArray; for (int i = 0, i < 10, i++){ [myArray arrayWithArray:[self buildArray]]; // Here I process myArray [myArray = nil] // is my guess } I need to keep a pointer to my NSArray, in order to reuse later in the loop, but what is happening to the objects created with [self buildArray]? What is the best to do in order not to keep unused object and arrays ? Or maybe the best solution is simply to removeAllObject of the array..? Thank you!

  Hi, I've been searching around the web for an answer to this one, but was unable to find an answer, on the other side I think it's something quite common thus there is a possibility I'm missing some keywords here. Anyhow, the problem is as follows: When is control given to a callback function in ObjC (iPhone)? Does it happen after control is given to a high up in the hierarchy class responsible for the runloop? Can it occur in the middle of another function call being executed? As an example, let's take the NSURLConnection, we don't know or can't predict when it's going to call didReceiveResponse or the other callback methods, can it be the case that didReceiveResponse get's called when I'm in the middle of another function? (highly doubt that but was unable to find information on callbacks wating for the end of the run loop) Cheers, Kaspa

  I'm making a little java game in which I would have two threads (well as the FIRST step towards multithreading...), one for the logic and one for the drawing. So my question is: How can I make those two communicating which each other? Requirements: accessing variables and object from a another thread syncing them so they each complete a same number of "loops" in the same time. (the logic calculates and then the another one draws the results and the loop begins again...) So how is this achievable in java? Thanks in advance!
