• Delphi - Create form behind another form.

  Hi guys, I'm using Delphi 4. I have a main form with a button that dynamically creates a new form. I'd like the new form to be visible, but shows up BEHIND the main form. I've tried calling SendToBack() immediately after FormCreate(). But that makes the window flicker quickly before it's actually sent to back. I've tried making the form invisible, then SentToBack(), then Visible := true. But the new form is still at the front. SendToBack() doesn't seem to work on invisible forms?? Any suggestions? Thanks!

• Building XCode From Command Line Issues (Updating Entitlements file location)

  The first error is a warning for complier 'com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_0' I don't know if this is okay and I can just not worry about it. The second tells me that my entitlements file is no longer at that location. I know this and I thought I had correctly updated it in Xcode's info window. This project builds fine in Xcode. • iPad doesn't trigger resize event going from vertical to horizontal?

  Has anyone noticed this behavior? I'm trying to write a script that will trigger upon a resize. It works fine on normal browsers, works fine on iPhone, but on iPad, will only trigger going from horizontal to vertical viewport, not vice versa. • Maximizing Adobe Air windows on multiple monitors

  In an Adobe Air AJAX application with multiple windows running on a system with multiple (three or more) monitors, can you maximize the windows in each monitor? I've seen posts by others trying to do this, but I've not seen anyone saying how it worked out. I basically need to build a 'status monitor' system (similar to, say, an airport departures monitor) in which there are public-facing displays that need to look and feel like single-purpose, embedded applications -- no window chrome and no visible desktop. I don't think this should be any different from any other windows application, but I don't know about Air. I have a dual-monitor Mac setup right now, but I can't easily test Windows and I likely will never be able to test three monitors at once. This application will be run as an AJAX Air application written in Aptana (or DW if it makes a difference).

  I have a <div> which I want to display full screen, but I also need to incorporate a 60px high <div> and a 10px high <div> at the top of the document. The size of the main div will need to re-size as the browser window is re-sized to keep it full screen. <div id="div1" style="height: 60px"> </div> <div id="div2" style="height: 10px"> </div> <div id="fullscreen"> </div> So: fullscreen height = document size - (#div1 + #div2) On re-size recalculate the above value.

• WPF,XAML: How to set the ZIndex of a particular control to the topmost.

  how do i set any control to the topmost of the screen. For e.g. i have a textblock in a datatemplate or a hierarchichal data template..etc... now i would like to set this textblock to the topmost on mouseover. Setting the Grid.ZIndex value to 1 in the trigger for IsMouseOver doesn't work many times. In order to do that i set the ZIndex value for all the contols to -1 in the window. it worked in one scenario but doesn't work other times. If anyone can get me the details of ZIndex and how to set the control to the topmost without worrying about the other controls, it would be of great help. Note: setting the value of ZIndex to a higher value e.g. 99999 also doesn't work.

• changing src reference based upon https

  I'm adding a facebook comment widget to a website. I'm placing this widget in a file that is included on everypage. The navigation is relatively linked so it switches back and forth from http and https. But for some reason the comment widget only shows up if both the src linked file and webpage is secure or both the src linked file and webpage is NOT secure. The widget does not display of the src file is secure and the webpage is not secure. So... • How do I use global resources in WPF?

  I have a WPF application which I would like to use some static resources in. I have created a Resource Library XAML file which contains a resource. I have also added a string into the Resources of the project through the Properties panel. I assumed I could just use these resources with the binding expression: {StaticResource ResourceName} But visual studio is telling me the resources are not found. Do I have to include some form of reference in my XAML? The examples I have seen only include resources locally such as: <Window.Resources>, <Page.Resources> etc I don't want to include the resources locally because I want them to be available to multiple parts of the application.

• Visual Studio 2010 and Silverlight - Adding Data Sources

  Hello, I am interested in building a Silverlight application that uses RIA Services. I am using this video (http://live.visitmix.com/MIX10/Sessions/CL08) as an example. In that video, the presenter uses the "data sources" tab to populate the view. However, I cannot figure out how to add a data source from within Visual Studio 2010. I have a database on my local machine. This database is the sample AdventureWorks database. When I select my Silverlight application, there is a UserRegistrationContext in the data sources window. However, I cannot figure out how to add a new one that connects to my AdventureWorks database. Can somebody tell me how to do this? Thank you!

• Shift browser contents to the left while viewing in wide screen

  I use a widescreen laptop. Many websites have their content centre aligned. On wider screens this means lot of empty space on left and right. As such this is not a botheration. Many a times, I read some instructions on the web page and type them out on the command prompt. I prefer to overlay the command prompt window on top of the browser and if the browser contents are left aligned (or right aligned), then I need not Alt-tab across these windows. I use Firefox on Ubuntu. I use the command line (konsole) heavily. I know compiz (and similar) tools provides transparent windows so that the content beneath is visible. But I don't want to install compiz or its equivalent because my graphics driver is not all that good. Any addon or simple trick that would shift the page content to the left (or right) would be very helpful (read productive).

  In Verifier Dialog, there is a window to select drivers to verify. The list control has 4 column. 1. Verify? 2. Driver name. 3. Provider 4. Version My driver's provider and version are represented as "unknown". I don't know how can I set these values. Where can I set this value? By SignTool? Or Resource file?   I have a window with tab control and number of pages - tab items. Each tab item has same grid layout - 6 rows and 4 columns. Now, each tab item contains grid with row and column definitions, so almost half of XAML is definition of grids. How can I define this grid in one place and reuse that definition in my application? Template? User control? Besides 6x4, I have only two more grid dimensions that repeat: 8x4 and 6x6.

• How can I try a new language or framework without installing it?

  With so many languages and frameworks that exist, and with new ones appearing all the time, I don't have the time to download, install, and configure each one to evaluate it. In the past I've run across webapps that allow one to write or paste code into a window, and see the results in realtime in the browser, usually in a tutorial setting. What are your favorite sandbox sites for a given technology? Edit: @fretj provided the link to the excellent Google Code Playground (+1 upvote), but I thought that it was just for experimenting with Google's own apps (Search, Maps, Earth, Language, etc). But it turns out that it contains a few hidden gems: In addition to their apps, you can try out the many Javascript libraries that they host including jQuery, jQuery UI, MooTools, Dojo, and Prototype Scriptaculous. They're all hidden under the Libraries category in the "Pick an API" box. I overlooked the category because I thought it was for an app called Google Libraries. There's also a Javascript category for Javascript itself.

• View plain text files with different background colors in Mac OSX, for different programming languag

  Hi, I work with Mac OS X Leopard. I usually have 5 or 10 text files opened at the same time with different programming languages; one for a bash script, another for a python one, etc. When I use exposé all of them look the same, so it is difficult to select them. I wonder how could I work with just plain text files in OSX, so when they are opened in an editor the background color changes or some other thign, so when using exposé it is clear to me which window belongs to what language. I thought about inserting some kind of info to the last line of each document, and then creat some applescript that converts it to RTF or someother text document which includes color in bacjground, so then it is opened with textmate or someother app. Do you know a better approach for this? • Preventing a Firefox Extension's load event from triggering across tabs

  Hi, I've been working on a Firefox extension that uses an iFrame to do some background scrapping. I have gone through a number of hoops to get it to trigger only once in the window/tab where it should but now when I open a different tab that tab triggers the load event. • Post Loading ads from Google Admanager

  I have changed code around to basically load an add the bottom of the page in a hidden div and attached an onload event handler that called document.getElementById(xxx).appendChild() to take the hidden ad and move it into the right spot in my page. This works GREAT.. however when the ad is a text ad it AFTER i move the ad there is nothing in the rendered Iframe. I did tests to see what it looks like before i move it and sure enough the text links load in the IFRAME but the second i do the appendChild call to move the div that contains the ad i seem to loose the contents of the Iframe. • CSS Position:Absolute with relative adjustment

  I am trying to do a vertical dropdown menu. This is my code .menu li:hover>ul{ position:absolute; display:inline; left:120px; top:100px;} I use position: Absolute to remove the sub-menu from the table, once the menu gets hovered. It appears that, if I do not indicate top or left property. The sub-menu will displayed relatively. Now I need to adjust the position relatively but seems that only the left property works. So my sub-menu left position is 120px relatively away from its original position. But the top is 100px away from the top of the window, rather then to the original position. How do I move the list up relative to it original position? I cant use position:relative because I need the sub-menu to be remove from the table.

• Re-measuring custom item renderer on a List

  I'm writing an Adobe Air client to a service similar to Twitter. On the timeline (List component) I have a custom item renderer which is basically a Canvas with a fixed-width Image and a Text control, which is multi-line. If the text is long enough to change the Canvas height, it will only be resized if I manually change the width of the Window, forcing a redraw of all renderers. If I simply scroll through the List, all "new" renderers will have the minimum height possible (which is the Image height). Any ideas on how to force the re-measurement of the renderer when I set it's data? Thanks in advance! :)

BUT, it sends a message in the output window: PHPUnit is required in order to generate controller test stubs. How do I get Netbeans to automatically create a class with phpunit testing?   Hi, I'm trying to change Back Button tittle in a navigation controller in the following way: In the parent controller I put this in vieDidLoad: self.title = @"Calendars"; self.navigationItem.backBarButtonItem.title = @"Previous"; But this controller is in the stack since I initialized the app: -(void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application{ navController.viewControllers= [NSArray arrayWithObjects:aController,aBcontroller,nil]; [window addSubview:navController.view]; } So, the viewDidLoad in aController is not called until I select the back buttom the first time in the bController... Does anyone knows how to call viewDidLoad just when I push it into the stack? Or do you know another way to change the BackButtom title? Thanks in advanced for your help.

• Bash: infinite sleep

  I use startx to start X which will evaluate my .xinitrc. In my .xinitrc I start my window manager using /usr/bin/mywm. Now, if I kill my WM (in order to f.e. test some other WM), X will terminate too because the .xinitrc script reached EOF. So I added this at the end of my .xinitrc: while true; do sleep 10000; done This way X won't terminate if I kill my WM. Now my question: how can I do an infinite sleep instead of looping sleep? Is there a command which will kinda like freeze the script? Best regards

• VB.NET For Each steps into loop body for an IEnumerable collection! How? Why?

  This is weird. I have a class that inherits from IEnumrable whose Count property is reporting 0 (zero) elements but the For Each loop steps into the loop body and tries to use the variable where it should just be moving on. My code: On Error Resume Next Dim d As Foo For Each d In fooCollection ' use d and throws an exception Next d Weirder still, every time d is accessed i get an exception thrown in the output window: A first chance exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' but i'm not stopping on the exception (not in a try/catch block). Is "On Error Resume Next" causing this weirdness? Weirdness found: Per Rowland's and JohnH's comments i checked the Foo class: The GetEnumerator method inside of Foo didn't actually return anything! It had an empty body. That coupled with the On Error Resume Next before the loop caused the havoc! Wow this was ugly. Thanks for the clues guys!
