So far, I've gotten a console app to read input and append to a file. 1)How can I make a .NET program "catch" all keyboard input? 2)How do I make a process not show up in Task Manager? This is not for a virus, but rather a parental control program for a specific clientele. No malicious intent here.

    Hi, I have implemented inheritance for two parent classes called Table and Field. Each parent class has several child classes. In the Table parent class, I created a method that expects parameter List(Of Field). I get an error when trying to pass in parameter List(Of ChildField) to the method that expects a parameter of List(Of Field). The error message is as below: Value of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of com.hlb.icisbatch.data.ChildField)' cannot be converted to 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of com.hlb.icisbatch.data.Field)' My question, is it possible to pass in list of child class as parameter? If it is not a list then it works fine. But somehow it is not possible with lists?     Hello SO, I'm trying to do user impersonation for a web application we have. The user selects the user they'd like to emulate/impersonate and then clicks the button which fires this: protected void uxImpersonate_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ... FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(uxUserToEmulate.SelectedValue, false); Response.Redirect("Impersonation.aspx"); //reload page manually } We have a dev - test - production server environment and on two servers this works just fine, but on another one, in all browsers, it kicks me to the login screen. What's going on and how can I fix it? We're on ASP.NET 2.0, and I'm using http://stackoverflow.com/questions/549016/user-impersonation-with-asp-net-forms-authentication as a guide. UPDATE: It appears that the user actually is impersonated successfully but is loosing their Role as admin (only Admin Role's can access this impersonation page).

Sales" End If Basically what is happening is, if a certain radio button is selected and the user didn't click the checkbox the default regions are included and they are hardcoded because the query runs much faster. if the user did click the checkbox then the textbox where they type the specific regions shows up and it will run the query that includes the dbo.B605SaleAsOfAdvancedMaster.SDESCR in (" & TextBox1.Text & ") If you can somehow do this using parameters and not with the textbox1.text in the query it will run much faster for me thanks for your help

    What's the best disassembler tool for the .NET reflector? By best I mean, saving a .NET assembly in a disassembled state in most readable, most likely to compile with fewer changes. The current one I use doesn't show simplified enumeration but shows the full IEnumerable implementations with MoveNext, etc with member names like: this.<4_state CS$<9_CachedAnonymousMethodDelegate3 Btw I am not trying to steal code, just trying out certain things on an already existing assembly instead of writing a similar thing from scratch. In the end, it's what I will learn from this that will stay, not the modified assembly.

  • ASP MVC 2 : Custom display of a required form element based on ModelMetaData

    I have an MVC 2 application that utilises forms. The required fields within the form are set using attributes that update the model metadata. The form fields are created using the MVC HtmlHelper method : Html.EditorFor. This works fine so far as validation is concerned, but it seems that by default the required fields are not displayed to the user (for example by appending a * to the control). If I wanted to provide some custom means of displaying this fact to the user (lets immagine I want to change the background colour of the edit control for example), where is the best place to do it. Would I need to create a custom html helper to replace EditorFor? I tried but it seemed difficult to gain access to the metadata for the correct property. I already have a custom ModelMetaDataProvider so there is no problem adding it there if that is the correct place.

    Hi. I'm thinking about ASP.NET MVC 2 project which should display the same Domain Model(with different data) in different mark-up or page design(selected by url domain). I'm not sure which one ot these to use : set of views per unique domain + one default? use areas? any other idea? How would you do that? Thank you.

  • Call asp.net web service from php

    Hi im calling an aps.net web service from a php service. The service searches both databases with a search parameter. Im not sure how to pass a search parameter to the asp.net service. Code is below.   • ASP.Net MVC 2 Forms Authentication cookieless = "UseUri" while submit authorization fails

    hi, I just started working with ASP.Net MVC 2. I created a new ASP.Net MVC application and created one vehicle controler with a database table connected with LINQ. Then created forms authentication mechanism for the application and tried to use the uri instead of cookies it was working smoothly but when i submit the form by creating a "Create" view from the controler using the utility it just dont work. The autherization got failed and asking to enter the user name and password again.I had created the authorization mechanism by adding Authorise attribute to the Controller so as to get authorized for all the actions. namespace MVCNEW.Controllers { [Authorize] public class VehicleController : Controller { But if i use the cookies instead of uri it works fine.
