• Some websites are not opening. What should I do? [closed]

  Some websites are not opening in my system. I am using Ubuntu 11.04. Earlier, when I was using Ubuntu 10.01, there was no such issue. I have tried Firefox as well as Chromium and I am sure the issue is not with the browser. same websites are opening perfectly with Windows. Google, Twitter and Ubuntu related websites are running perfect. Other websites like www.downrightnow.com, easy-mantra.com are not opening. Installed Wubi on windows7 (32 bit). Ubuntu 12.10 is 64 bit. I usually use (when using sqldatareader as datasource): <%#Container.DataItem("1stcolumnnamestring")%> <%#Container.DataItem("2ndcolumnnamestring")%> But this does not work when using the arraylist as datasource. Thanks. ps... I know how to use <%#Container.DataItem% to dump everything but I need to get at the items in the array individually, not have them all ditched out to the page in one go. For example, item 1 contains a link, item 2 contains an image path, item 3 contains a description. I need to have them kick out in the correct order to build the link and icon correctly.

  i'm trying to set up a custom search ad, but I am nost sure about the query. On the site it says (https://developers.google.com/custom-search-ads/docs/implementation-guide) 'query' should be dynamic based on your page. This variable targets the ads and therefore should always match what the user on your site has just performed a search for. Now, what I understand is: I have to program my page so that the query variable contains some custom words. Am I right? If a user gets to my site through clicking on an adsense, there is no way to "know" what the user looked for and display my query accordingly, right? Thanks for any help!

  So, I have a regex that searches for HTML tags and modifies them slightly. It's working great, but I need to do something special with the last closing HTML tag I find. Not sure of the best way to do this. I'm thinking some sort of reverse reg ex, but haven't found a way to do that. • WordPress: Using custom field to define posts to display in loop

  Hi, I'm trying to use a custom field in which I input the post ID numbers of the posts I want to show, seperated by commas. For some reason though, only the first post of the series of the post IDs are displaying. Can someone help? The value of $nlPostIds is (minus the quotes): "1542,1534,1546".   I am using 12.04 and have a problem with my resolv.conf There are 2 search lines there. But I can only explain one. In /etc/dhcp/dhclient I removed the requests for domain-name-servers, domain-search, but the lines are still in there. Should I remove the dhcp6.domain-search as well?

  I'm trying to create a set of overloaded templates for arrays/pointers where one template will be used when the compiler knows the size of the array and the other template will be used when it doesn't: template <typename T, size_t SZ> void moo(T (&arr)[SZ]) { ... } template <typename T> void moo(T *ptr) { ... } The problem is that when the compiler knows the size of the array, the overloads are ambiguous and the compile fails. Is there some way to resolve the ambiguity (perhaps via SFINAE) or is this just not possible.

I have a pretty good familiarity with the main concepts: web app framework, modeling, queues, memcache, django templates, etc. Where I think I'm lacking is in methodology. Architecting the app, using git for versioning, designing an writing unit tests. I'm totally convinced to incorporate these practices in my development style, and have started reading up on them. However I've learned that I'm a much faster learner when I have someone experienced to ask questions to and interact with. IRC channels and forums like stack overflow are great. But sometimes you want something more dynamic that produces results faster. So my question is how can a person find an experienced engineer that is familiar with the technologies he uses and that is willing to give them a couple of hours of Skype coaching sessions per week in return for an hourly fee...

• Dynamically formatting a string

  Before I wander off and roll my own I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to do the following sort of thing... Currently I am using MessageFormat to create some strings. I now have the requirement that some of those strings will have a variable number of arguments. For example (current code): MessageFormat.format("{0} OR {1}", array[0], array[1]); Now I need something like: // s will have "1 OR 2 OR 3" String s = format(new int[] { 1, 2, 3 }); and: // s will have "1 OR 2 OR 3 OR 4" String s = format(new int[] { 1, 2, 3, 4 }); There are a couple ways I can think of creating the format string, such as having 1 String per number of arguments (there is a finite number of them so this is practical, but seems bad), or build the string dynamically (there are a lot of them so this could be slow). Any other suggestions?

  Does the Prototype Javascript library have a selector that's equivalent to jQuery's :contains()? If not, what would what be "The Prototype Way" to selector/filter-down a list of elements that contains a particular string. For example, using the following $$('#some_div dd a') I may get back an array of 50 or so links. I only want the links that contain the work 'home'. In jQuery I'd do this jQuery('#some_div dd a:contains('home')'); Is it possible to do something similar using Prototype? If not, is there an elegant way to filter out the array of 50 elements that gets returned.

• is my function correct?

  This is part of an assignment so please dont post solutions, just point me in the right direction if possible? I am passing a pointer to a char array to my method, as well as a value for the actual height of the char array. I am looping through to see if all values are 0, if they are then return 0, esle return one The method is used as a test to see if i should free memory or not and set the pointer to null if it is full of 0's. The issue i am having is that the programme should have "some unfree" memory at the end, so i have no idea whether or not its doing it correctly - and gdb i struggle with immensley. • Handling duplicate nodes in XML

  Scenario: I am parsing values from an XML file using C# and have the following method: private static string GetXMLNodeValue(XmlNode basenode, string strNodePath) { if (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath) != null) return (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath).InnerText); else return String.Empty; } To get a particular value from the XML file, I generally pass the root node and a path like "parentnode/item" I recently ran into an issue where two nodes at the same document level share the same name. Question: What is the best way to get the values for duplicate-named nodes distinctly? My thought was to load all values matching the node name into an array and then using the array index to refer to them. I'm not sure how to implement that, though. (I'm not well-versed in XML navigation.)

  It seems the most obvious thing, but I just can't work out how to get the length of bytes sent over a network using a TCPClient and TCPListener? This is my code so far: 'Must listen on correct port- must be same as port client wants to connect on. But the networkStream.length is unsupported and does not work and throws an Notsupportedexception. The only other way I can think of is to send the size of the data before sending the data, but this seems the long way round.

  Im wondering if there is a set or a few good books/Tutorials/Etc.. that go into Memory Management/Allocation Specifically (or at least have a good dedicated section to it) when it comes to C. This is more for me learning Embedded and trying to keep Size down. I've read and Learned C fine, and the "standard" Learning books. However most of the books don't spend a huge amount of time (Understandably since C is pretty huge in general) going into the Finer details about whats going on Down Under. • Single dimension peak fitting

  I have a single dimensional array of floating point values (c# doubles FYI) and I need to find the "peak" of the values ... as if graphed. I can't just take the highest value, as the peak is actually a plateau that has small fluctuations. This plateau is in the middle of a bunch of noise. I'm looking find a solution that would give me the center of this plateau. An example array might look like this: 1,2,1,1,2,1,3,2,4,4,4,5,6,8,8,8,8,7,8,7,9,7,5,4,4,3,3,2,2,1,1,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,1 where the peak is somewhere in the bolded section. Any ideas?

• Inspection, code review - is it really testing?

  ISTQB, Wikipedia or other sources classify verification acitivities (reviews etc.) as a static testing, yet other do not. If we can say that peer reviews and inspections are actually a kind of a testing, then a lot of standards do not make sense (consider e.g. ISO which say that validation is done by testing, while verification by checking of work products) - it should at least say dynamic testing for validation, shouldn't it? I am completing master thesis dealing with QA and I must admit that I have never seen worse and more ambiguous and contradicting literature than in this field :/ Do you think (and if so, why) that static testing is a good and justifiable term or should we stick to testing and static checks/analysis?
