• Second CSS class not working in IE8.

  I have the following div being rendered to the client, but on IE, the checked-yes class is ignored. If I view the target element in the 'Developer Tools', that class is completely missing from the Style panel. • Get back the default browser styling for input fields

  I need to style all the input fields but one. So i have set a rule for all the inputs on the site. For the seachfield i need to use the browser default, so i was thinking i could just inherit all the values i have set for the general input fields. (have tried border: none to) This does not work in FF nor Safari :( The border just gets transparent. http://jsfiddle.net/N5KKH/1/ Any idea how i could get the default browser styling back? • My website crashes Firefox. What do I do?

  My website doesn't use Flash or any plugins; just javascript (jQuery, Google Maps). It doesn't crash FF 3.6 all the time, but it usually does after a few minutes. It can happen on lots of different pages. Sometimes it crashes when I'm scrolling the page, sometimes when I'm interacting with a control. Where do I even start debugging? Should I go through the hassle of attaching gdb to Firefox and getting a stack trace, then praying that it sheds some light on the offending code?

• Links in rounded boxes? In ALL browsers (yep included IE8)

  I tried maaaany script but every time I get stuck in something bad. My goal is to create rounded boxes for links. You can see an example of I'm talking about here in the read more link (effects not necessary). Very common I know, but I want to make it work in eeeevery browsers at least safari, FF, chrome and most important IE7+ (IE6 not necessary...). The script that took me closest to the solution is Cornerz but I can't fix a very bad issue on IE8. Does anybody knows a way to get rid of this or to achieve my goal? • javascript location.hash refreshing in IE

  I need to modify the hash, remove it after certain processing takes place so that if the user refreshes they do not cause the process to run again. This works fine in FF, but it seems that IE is reloading every time I try to change the hash. I think it is related to other things that are loading on the page, though I am not certain. I have an iframe that loads (related to the process) as well as some scripts that are still being fetched in the parent window. I can't seem to figure out a good way to change the hash after all the loading completes. And, at the same time am not even positive that it is related to the loading. Any ideas on how to solve this?

• getjson alternative method for variable

  I made a script which gets the data from a json file and parse it. It worked on a webserver. But now I have to find a solution to get it work on a local file (file:///C:/xampp/htdocs/script/index.html) instead on a server. It only works in FF: $.getJSON('data2.json', function(data) { $.each(data.selection_form.entities, function(i,name){ ...do something }); }); Any ideas? A local webserver is not a solution.

• Why is the image not showing in IE7?

  I have an image on this page in the blue bar area. It shows up fine in FF, Safari, IE8 & Chrome, but it does not show up in IE7. • TabContainer in BorderContainer not showing correctly

  Hi, I am using a borderContainer with a fix width and centering in the center of my page (Use of a div around the bordercontainer). Everything works fine until i add a TabContainer. All of a sudden i can not see my Tab's anymore. This goes as wel for IE as FF. Is this a bug or something else? How could i work around this? I'm using the latest release of dojo 1.4.3. • Inconsistent Session data from IE - cached sessions???

  I'm trying to prevent some basic click-fraud on my site, and am building links based on session time data. Everything works in FF, but in IE the information I'm storing in the session is somehow being changed. When I load up the main page, I set my session variables like this session_start(); $_SESSION['time']=$time(); I'm out putting the session value into the page, so I get something like 1275512393. When the user clicks on a link, I send an ajax request, and that page is returning the session which I am putting into an alert. session_start(); echo $_SESSION['time']; die(); The alert is returning 1275512422. Only in IE is the $_SESSION['time'] being returned different from the original $_SESSION['time'] It doesn't appear that this is a caching issue, as the times are always VERY near each other, and the second one is always after the first, but I'm not positive.

  I need to copy a form information with all types of elements and send it with AJAX. Tried these: 1. cloneNode on the form. - Doesn't work with IE, only copies text stuff properly. cloneNode on each element. Doesn't work with IE, only copies text stuff properly. Making new textareas for each element, and copying the value in. Doesn't work for textareas in IE, formatting is lost. I imagine a combination of those 3 would work for IE and FF but is there any decent solution to this? Shortness of code is a priority.

  I realized that I can specify $(document).ready(function(){}); more than once. Suppose like this $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "1122"; //do something.. }); $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "def"; //do something.. }); Is this standard ? Those codes work on my FF (16.0.2). I just a little afraid that other browser may not. What actually happen ? How jQuery handle those code ? Thanks.

• iframe problem using javascript

  Does anyone know how to get the HTML out of an IFRAME? I have tried several different ways: document.getElementById('iframe01').contentDocument.body.innerHTML, document.frames['iframe01'].document.body.innerHTML, document.getElementById('iframe01').contentWindow.document.body.innerHTML, etc but none of them worked. I believe the reason they're not working is that the content of my iframe doesn't have a body tag (I'm loading XML). Any other way to get all the contents of the iframe? I am open to jQuery too. This: document.getElementById('iframe01').contentWindow.document.body.innerHTML works fine in the IE, but this: document.getElementById('iframe01').contentDocument.body.innerHTML does not work for FF.

• Jquery JSON .each() doesnt work in Google Chrome

  I have a really simple chat application on a site which works pretty good. This is driving me nuts, have tried everything I've come across online for days but I can't seem to get it right. Please someone help! I can provide testserver if someone wants to firebug it themselves ;)

• Checkbox not checking inside div in Firefox

  Weird problem. I don't know if anyone can shed some light on this? I have a checkbox inside a div. It works fine in IE but not Firefox. I have to click the space around the checkbox that is occupied by the div (sort of like a label) for the checkbox to tick on and off. Directly clicking the checkbox does not show it as ticked on or off, even though in firebug it is showing that it is in a checked state and an unchecked state. Only in FF does this happen.....

  Hi, Im trying to load a custom error document for a 404 error using a .htaccess file on a linux server, the page gets the current page URL then redirects to another site (which is retrieved from a db) based on an id it retrieved from the URL. The current error documents are stored here: /error_docs/ - i dont have permission to upload anything other than the HTML files that are already in there /HTTPDocs/301redir.php is the site root where the .htaccess file is. i have used the following to load the 301redir.php page as the error doc, which works in FF but no other browsers. ErrorDocument 404 /310redir.php using .htaccess is my only real option for changing this, is there a way to get around this issue and make it work across all browsers?

  I need to use: JSON.stringify() which should be supported by chrome, safari, and FF (I think). I think IE8 also has support for the JSON object. I think IE7 and 6 do not, so I'm doing this: <!--[if lt IE 8]> <script src="http://www.json.org/json2.js"></script> <![endif]--> so, I think this will import the external javascript only if IE6 & 7. • pre tag is being formatted strangely in page

  I am outputting some code in one of my pages, using a <pre> tag. The code is being output correctly, but for some strange reason, the first line of the code is indented (i.e. shifted to the right, by quite a large amount). I am not applying any style to that element, and I checked in FF Firebug and no styling is being applied, so I have no idea why the first line is shifted by so much to the right - any ideas? the code that generates the tag looks like this: <pre> <?php echo $script_code; ?> </pre> The generated code looks like this: <iframe src="http://www.example.com"> </iframe> Any ideas what may be going wrong?

• IE 7 can't bind event (using .live()) to dynamically created element using .load()

  Hi All - I'm having trouble getting IE7 to keep a click event bound to an element that is added to the DOM using .load(). Here's some code: $('.mybtn').live('click', function(e){ e.preventDefault(); $('#mypage').load('load-this-page.htm'); }); And here's the html <div id="mypage"> <a href="#" class="mybtn">clickme</a> // stuff goes here </div> On page load the click works but once the div is loaded via the clickme link the click stops working in IE7. The clickme link is within the div on load and also within the load() loaded html file that's why I'm using live(). This code works in FF 3.6, fyi. Anyone have any idea what's up (besides the fact the IE sucks balls)? Thanks!

  There are some technologies like LINQ and WPF which are nice, but installation of .NET 3.5 is still slow procedure. It's important to understand - among Windows users how many of them have .NET 3.5 installed? Is there any good up to date stats gathered about .NET Version availability/usage? I've searched a lot, but can't find. Update: .NET version IS present in web-agent strings for FF and IE at least. So there SHOULD be somebody who have that information. Anyone with access to really large web-site logs? Update 2: I also understand Vista means that user have 3.5, but XP is still dominating the market.

  Here's the sample code: var d = new Date("2010-06-09T19:20:30+01:00"); document.write(d); On FF3.6 this will give you: Wed Jun 09 2010 14:20:30 GMT-0400 (EST) Other browers tested; Chrome 5, Safari 4, IE7 give: Invalid Date I know there is limited to no support for ISO8601 dates, but does anyone know what and/or where the difference is in FF3.6 that allows this to work? My thought is that FF is just stripping out what it doesn't understand while the others are not. Has anyone else seen this and/or getting different results from the test script?
