  @Override public boolean equals( Object otherObject ) is not allowed in Java for an Enum, since the method equals(Object x) is defined as final in Enum. Why is this so? I cannot thing of any use case which would require overriding equals(Object) for Enum. I'm just curious to know the reasoning behind this behavior.

  I want to replace new lines in text with coma or space but do not change the last new line. I know of this question: How to replace new lines with tab characters - but it does produce an tab on end instead of new line. So far I have come with: awk 'NR>1{printf","} {printf $1} END{printf"\n"}' Is there an easier way to do this? This is not an assignment, I am just curious want to level up my scripting.

  hi all, I found this structure called OBJECT_ATTRIBUTE in one of the nt dll functions..I was curious to know about that structure and I went through its documentation(msdn)...In the OBJECT_ATTRIBUTE structure there is a parameter called PUNICODE_STRING objectName...As per the msdn documentation..it says that the objectName "the name of the object for which a handle is to be opened" which is actually a name or some root directory,am confused with this.Can anybody explain this term "name of the object"(root directory).what it represents.

Does anybody provide Visual Studio support for *IL in the form of: project templates, IntelliSense integration, and those kind of RAD features? Edits: I don't mean restricted to out of the box support. For example, I can download Visual Studio extensions to support Python, COBOL, etc. Want the same for *IL.   I'm curious how I can create a DIV (or anything really) that I can fade (or change opacity of) when a user scrolls down the page. This DIV would sit at the top of the page, but only be clearly visible when at the very top of the page. Additionally, it would be ideal if I I could have this element fade back in onmouseover, regardless of the current scrolled position on the page.

It is just very convinient, but I'm curious to if there are any other methods that are equally appealing. Do you know of such?   Hi, I'm looking at market stats here for sdk distribution: http://developer.android.com/resources/dashboard/platform-versions.html saying that 31% of marketplace users are still running 1.5. Is it true that an OS update went out for G1 and myTouch users? I'm wondering why so many people are still running 1.5 if so? Just curious because I'd like to use th setView() method introduced in 1.6 for TabSpec, but not if so many people are still using 1.5, I might have to roll my own control, Thanks
