  • Enter ID instead of name on submit (form)

    In my activities table, I have a user ID and a project ID. When a user (of admin level) creates an activity they select from a drop down menu a project. Here is the select query to draw up appropriate values: $sql = "SELECT usersprojects_tb.projectid, projects.projectname FROM projects INNER JOIN usersprojects on projects.projectid = usersprojects.projectid WHERE usersprojects.userid = '".$_SESSION['SESS_USERID']."'"; And for the tag with the dropdown menu, I have this: <?php echo $row['projectname']?> I have tried submitting the form with 'projectid' here instead and the project ID is stored successfully in my activies table. However, the user needs to see the project names (IDs arent exactly user-friendly!) And with 'projectname' as displayed, they can select the names of the available projects (to associate an activity with) but the project ID is not stored, how I link this up, so that when the project name is sent, the ID for this project is stored properly in my activities table. I'm also having the exact same problem with the users drop down. As the admin user selects a user from the drop down to assign the task to. I exactly what I want, but I think I may be using the wrong syntax! Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Prevent automatic popToRootViewController on double-tap of UITabBarController

    The default behavior of a UITabBarController is to pop the contained UINavigationController to the root view controller when a particular tab is tapped a second time. I have a particular use case where I'm wanting this to not work automatically, and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to prevent this. Has anyone run into this, and if so, what did you do? Do I need to subclass UINavigationController and override popToRootViewController or is there a simpler way?

  • How to get rid of the double scroll bar problem when using an iframe

    I've seen this problem on the web, and all the suggested solutions aren't working for me, so I thought I'd come here. I have a page that has an iframe. The top of the page is a dropdown menu, the rest of the page is the iframe. The idea like I'm sure everybody else does, is to have the menu stay stationary and the menu selection runs an application in the iframe. The contents of the iframe should scroll, but the page as a whole should not. I've tried putting the iframe width=height=100% inside a single table element also with width=height=100% but I get two scrollbars if I make the window too short vertically. Any suggestions?

The problem is that it generates strings like this: hello first line<br><br />this is a second line<br />this is a 3rd line since this is for a news site, i much prefer the final html to be like this: <p>hello first line</p><p>this is a second line<br />this is a 3rd line</p> so my current solution is this: i need to trim the $data for <br /> at the start/end of the string replace <br /><br /> with </p><p> (one single <br /> is allowed). finally, add <p> at the start and </p> at the end i only have the 3rd step so far. can someone give me a hand with steps 1 and 2? function replace_br($data) { # step 3 $data = '<p>'.$data.'</p>'; return $data; } thanks! ps: it would be even better to avoid specific situations. example: "hello<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />too much space" -- those 5 breaklines should also be converted to just one "</p><p>"

  • jQuery Address - redirect after form submit

    Hello all, I use jQuery and AJAX to load content from links and forms into a content div. In addition I use the Address plugin to enable the back button and refresh. On the server side I use Java and Spring MVC. Since I'm using jQuery Address and AJAX the only page that is directly loaded is "index.html". Everything else is loaded into a content div, and what page to load is specified in the hash, ie. "index.html#/users/add.html" will load "users/add.html". Now, "users/add.html" contains a form for creating a new user. When the form is submitted and everything went OK, the controller redirects to "users/index.html". The problem is that jQuery Address doesn't know about the redirect, so the url will remain "index.html#/users/add.html". And this is a problem when you refresh the page and then get sent back to the form, instead of the index page. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks, Stian

    Is there a way of completely removing the styling of a button in Internet Explorer. I use a css sprite for my button, and everything looks ok. But when i click the button, it moves to the top a little, it makes it look out of shape. Is there a css click state, or mousedown? I don't know what triggers that state. I know it't not a really big deal, but sometimes it's the small things that matter.

    I've been trying left joins but as there are 2 joins, i think the problem is the 2nd join roots from table_B not table_A. i am not getting any results where there is the required data in the db.   • Double associative array or indexed + associative array

    I'm undecided what's the best-practice approach for what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to enter data into an array where the data will look like this: apple color: red price: 2 orange color: orange price: 3 banana color: yellow price: 2 pineapple color: yellow price: 5 When I get input, let's say green apple (notice it's a combo of color + name of fruit), I'm going to check if the name of fruit part exists in the array and display its data (if it exists). What's the right way to compose those arrays? How would I do an indexed array containing an associative array? (or would this be better as 2 nested associative arrays, I'm guessing not)

  • CSS RGBA border / background alpha double

    I'm working on a website that has a lot of transparency involved, and I thought I would try to build it entirely in RGBA and then do fallbacks for IE. I need a "facebox" style border effect, where the outer border is rounded and is less opaque than the background of the box it surrounds. The last example from http://24ways.org/2009/working-with-rgba-colour seems to suggest that it's possible, but I can't seem to get it to work. Thus, when both the background and the border are semi-transparent, the border will ALWAYS be more opaque than the background of the element. This is exactly the opposite of what I am trying to achieve, but it seems like it should be possible based on the examples I've seen. I should also add that I can't use another element inside the container, because I'm also going to use a border-radius on the container to get rounded corners, and webkit squares the corners of the child elements if they have a background assigned, which would essentially mean a rounded outer border with square contents.   • asp:login form does not submit when you hit enter

    I am having an issues while using the <asp:login> tag. When a user clicks the "login" button, the form will process correctly. However, when the user hits the enter key, the form self submits and does not process the login, whether it was correct information or not. I am using a combination of MasterPages, and Umbraco. I get the following error: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. But when I try to run var a = from c in DB.Customers where (from t1 in DB.Table1 where t1.Date >= DataTime.Now select t1.ID).Contains(c.ID) select a OR var a = from c in DB.Customers where (from t2 in DB.Table2 where t2.Date = DataTime.Now select t2.ID).Contains(c.ID) select a It works! I'm sure that there both IN queries contain some customers ids.
