• how can I give openvpn clients access to a dns server (bind9) that is located on the same machine as the openvpn server

  I currently have a debian server that is running an openvpn server. I also have a dns server (bind9) that I would like give allow access to by the connected openvpn clients, but I am unsure as of how to do this, I already known how to send dns options to the clients using push "dhcp-option DNS x.x.x.x" but I am just unsure how give the clients access to the dns server that is located on the same machine as the vpn server, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. • Date Picker Blue

  I'm successfully setting a date-picker with an initial date from a plist, but I see some unwanted blue values in the month, day, and year components, presumably corresponding to current date. So if today is April 18, 2010 and initial date being set is March 19, 2008, it looks like this (bold represents the blue): January 17 2006 February 18 2007 ------------------------------ March 19 2008 ------------------------------ April 20 2009 May 21 2010 First question is: How do I get rid of the blue? And second question: Ideally, how do I get it to look like this? • Proper programming procedure?

  I am creating a scoring application which is dependent upon what a user selects at the beginning menu. Example: If a user clicks 18, I want it to base itself off 18 holes of golf. If a user clicks 9, I want it to base itself off 9 holes of golf. Is it better to create a separate class for the code for 9 holes, and then another for 18 holes and then launch whichever depending on what the user selects? Or should I keep everything in 1 file and use a global variable to define different parameters? Still very new to android programming (or programming in general) so not sure of the proper "etiquette" if you will... Also what would be the pro's and con's of doing it either way?   Running Fedora 14 and realize I need to either change distros or find an alternative to GNOME 3 in Fedora 17. Based on what I have read to-date, XFCE and KDE are the go-to WMs if I want to avoid GNOME 3. I tried KDE 4 and I wasn't impressed; I like the simplicity of GNOME 2 with Compiz and Emerald. Can't stay on Fedora 14 forever, however, so...where to turn? Basically looking for these features in my desktop environment: GNOME Do or equivalent Snap to grid/Window tiling A must-have, the ability to hot key focused window to a monitor grid region is a huge productivity win. Zoom window to cursor In a multi-monitor setup sometimes it's nice to, say, GNOME Do terminal in one monitor and then hot key the opened window to the other monitor just by zipping the mouse cursor anywhere on target monitor (followed by, of course, snap-to-grid hotkey, all without a single mouse click) Polarization At night white background hurts the eyes, so I prefer to hot key polarize to black. Multi-monitor support I'm partial to Fedora given that I've worked with CentOS for years and have little experience with any other Linux distro; however, if the difference between Fedora and Arch, Mint, etc. is fairly subtle, I'll make the leap, just need a distro & desktop environment that allows me to be productive with keyboard hot keys and provides the above basic features. Any suggestions?

• VLC RTP Streaming in FC12

  I'm trying to get VLC to work streaming RTP audio/video over my office network. The goal is multicast a/v streaming. In all test cases, we are streaming from VLC to VLC. I am able to stream from Windows to Windows, and from Fedora to Windows, but not from Windows to Fedora. Additionally, I am unable to receive a LOCAL stream from one instance of VLC to another, within Fedora. I don't see any reason why this would be. The buffer indicator (where the elapsed/total time is normally displayed) never shows any connectivity, so it would appear to be a network problem, but since I am able to stream from Fedora to Windows (same IP, same port) I thought it would be something else. Does anyone know of a solution to this issue?

  Note that this question is mostly so others can find this information. I ran into a problem recently with my Fedora-14 virtual machine running on a Windows-7 host with VirtualBox. VirtualBox could not start the Fedora virtual machine, but it could start a Ubuntu virtual server machine that was configured for 512 MB of RAM. The Fedora-14 machine was configured for 2 GB of RAM. The Fedora-14 machine had been working a week ago. What had I recently changed...? Answer to follow.

• Ubuntu update deleted entries from grub

  My computer currently has Fedora, Ubuntu, and Windows installed. I just updated Ubuntu 12.04, and on restarting, the Fedora entry was gone from GRUB. Ubuntu and Windows remained, though. I have looked at these threads: Fedora login gone after Ubuntu updates on a dual boot http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=279221 GRUB's menu.lst deleted after a kernel update However, I cannot figure out how to mount the drive as suggested. It does not appear in the list on the left side of nautilus as shown in the links above. I also tried running the following as suggested above: sudo grub-install /dev/sdX sudo update-grub But this gave scary errors: /usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Attempting to install GRUB to a partitionless disk or to a partition. This is a BAD idea.. /usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged.. /usr/sbin/grub-setup: error: will not proceed with blocklists. The highlighted drive below is where Fedora lives. Thanks for any help reversing Ubuntu's decision to delete this from GRUB.

There are a variety of tools available to help you and Support diagnose SOA Suite issues in 11g but it can be confusing as to which tool is appropriate for a particular situation and what their relationships are. This blog post will introduce the various tools and attempt to clarify what each is for and how they are related. Let's first list the tools we'll be addressing: RDA: Remote Diagnostic Agent DFW: Diagnostic Framework Selective Tracing DMS: Dynamic Monitoring Service ODL: Oracle Diagnostic Logging ADR: Automatic Diagnostics Repository ADRCI: Automatic Diagnostics Repository Command Interpreter WLDF: WebLogic Diagnostic Framework This overview is not mean to be a comprehensive guide on using all of these tools, however, extensive reference materials are included that will provide many more details on their execution. Another point to note is that all of these tools are applicable for Fusion Middleware as a whole but specific products may or may not have implemented features to leverage them.
