• C++ LPTSTR to int (but memory overwrite problem using atoi)

  I have the following code, m_edit is a MFC CEdit (I know I would never use MFC but project demanded it). It's a simple loop, that gets the text from a text edit, converts it to integer after getting the first line, then stores it in m_y vector. LPTSTR szTemp; vector<int> m_y; for(int i = 0; i < m_edit->GetLineCount(); i++){ szTemp = s_y.GetBuffer(0); m_edit->GetLine(i, szTemp); // get line text store in szTemp y = atoi(szTemp); m_y.push_back(y); szTemp = ""; y = 0; } IMPORTANT EXAMPLE: So let's say the CEdit has 6 numbers: 0 5 2 5 18 6 If you use Visual Studio's debugger you will notice an anomaly!! Here's what it shows: y = 0 y = 5 y = 2 y = 5 y = 18 y = 68 Do you see that? szTemp when inserted into atoi, it returns the number 6, but concatenates the 2nd digit of the last number!!! This is why I did szTemp = "";, but the problem persists. Also, let's say the last number was 17 (not 18), then this time debugger would say y = 67, so it is definitely this problem. However, Visual Studio debugger, when you hover over szTemp during this iteration, it says '6' <--- not '68' inside szTemp. So somehow atoi is ruining it. Am I suppose to concatenate a \0 into szTemp before putting it into atoi? How do I solve this easily?

  Hi I'm new to all this. I have been trying to display fetched emails in a JTable using the JavaMail add-on. However when I ask the program to set the value it never does. I have been working in NetBeans if that is any help? the fetchMail class finds all may on a server. The gui class is used to display all emails in a table as well as creating mail. You will probably think that I have tried it like a bull in a china shop, I am new to Java and trying to give myself a challenge. • Collapsing data frame by selecing one row per group

  I'm trying to collapse a data frame by removing all but one row from each group of rows with identical values in a particular column. In other words, the first row from each group. For example, I'd like to convert this > d = data.frame(x=c(1,1,2,4),y=c(10,11,12,13),z=c(20,19,18,17)) > d x y z 1 1 10 20 2 1 11 19 3 2 12 18 4 4 13 17 Into this: x y z 1 1 11 19 2 2 12 18 3 4 13 17 I'm using aggregate to do this currently, but the performance is unacceptable with more data: > d.ordered = d[order(-d$y),] > aggregate(d.ordered,by=list(key=d.ordered$x),FUN=function(x){x[1]}) I've tried split/unsplit with the same function argument as here, but unsplit complains about duplicate row numbers. Is rle a possibility? Is there an R idiom to convert rle's length vector into the indices of the rows that start each run, which I can then use to pluck those rows out of the data frame?

• Choose a XML node in SQL Server based on max value of a child element

  I am trying to select from SQL Server 2005 XML datatype some values based on the max data that is located in a child node. I have multiple rows with XML similar to the following stored in a field in SQL Server: <user> <name>Joe</name> <token> <id>ABC123</id> <endDate>2013-06-16 18:48:50.111</endDate> </token> <token> <id>XYX456</id> <endDate>2014-01-01 18:48:50.111</endDate> </token> </user> I want to perform a select from this XML column where it determines the max date within the token element and would return the datarows similar to the result below for each record: Joe XYZ456 2014-01-01 18:48:50.111 I have tried to find a max function for xpath that would all me to select the correct token element but I couldn't find one that would work. I also tried to use the SQL MAX function but I wasn't able to get it working with that method either. If I only have a single token it of course works fine but when I have more than one I get a NULL, most likely because the query doesn't know which date to pull. I was hoping there would be a way to specify a where clause [max(endDate)] on the token element but haven't found a way to do that.   I try to add a geom_ribbon object to my ggplot2 plot. In my data frame, I have an NA values that (I guess) may cause a problem. • Displaying same record twice- SQL Reporting Services

  Ok, here's the situation: I need to display the same record in two different sections. stupid i know, but here's why. The Report I am building is grouped by one Field, called Day. Each record has date/times, an expected arrival date time, and an expected departure date/time. so, at this point we have something like this: Day..............Arrival Time..................Departure Time 18/5.............18/5 9.00am.........19/5 11.00am The boss only wants to show times that relate to the current day in the arrive/depart coloumns (easy enough with expressions), which ends up like this: Day..............Arrival Time..................Departure Time 18/5..............9.00am.........................- the next thing he wants is to display the departing time in the correct day 'group', but as you can imagine as soon as you move to the next row, well you move to the next row of the table. So the question is: is there anyway to display the same record on multiple coloumns? Have i missed something or have i got an unsolvable problem? NOTE: this is not the only data in my table either. there is (for example) a name coloumn which also needs to be displayed on both days.

Now i want to add and extra column to my Pivot table with gives me the outcome of SUM of Amount / AVG of Interval in sec Adding a calculated value =SUM(Amount)/AVERAGE(Interval) is not giving me the right values. Exel gives me. • Install server 2012 on HP ML110 G7 with B110i controller, no disks found

  I'm trying to install Server 2012 on a HP ML110 G7 with a B110i controller and four non hot-swappable SATA drives. I just can't get the Server 2012 boot disk PE environment to find any disks. I have downloaded the latest SPP (Service Pack for Proliant 2012.10) and flashed the BIOS. I have tried two different HP drivers for B110i and Windows X64, 6.18.0.64 and 6.18.2.64 to no avail. I have tried setting the controller to both AHCI and legacy mode in the BIOS, no difference. HP:s SmartStart disc for G7 servers only support installation of up to Windows Server 2008R2. HP:s installation instructions for Server 2012 Essentials says boot from the windows disk and use the storage drivers found on the SPP (I can't find any storage drivers on the SPP disk).

• svn 503 error when commit new files

  I am struggling with a strange error when I try to commit my repository. I have a V-server with webmin installed on it. Via Webmin I installed an svn module, created repositories and everything worked fine until three days ago. Trying to commit brings the following error: Commit failed (details follow): Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/!svn/wrk/a1f963a7-0a33-fa48-bfde-183ea06ab958/RLE/.htaccess' Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/RLE/.htaccess' I google everywhere and found only very few solutions. One indicated that a wrong error document is set, another one dealt about the problem that filenames might cause this error and last but not least a wrong proxy configuration in the local svn config could be the reason. After trying all of the solutions suggested I could not reach anything. Only after a server reboot there was a little difference in the error-message, telling me that the server was not able to move a temp file, because the operation was permitted. So I also controlled the permissions of the svn directory, but also with no success. An svn update than restored the "normal" error from above and nothing changed since then. The only change I made on the server, I guess that this could be the reason why svn does not work anymore, was to install the php5_mysql module for apache via apt-get install php5_mysql. Atg the moment I have totally no idea where I could search. I don't know if the problem is on my server or in my repository and I would be glad to get any hint to solve this. • GET /wpad.dat entries flooding my access_log

  I have a small LAN of some 30 users in it with proxy auto configuration enabled and working. Two of them are requesting wpad.dat file too rapidly at a pace of 30 times per second. 10.1.14.246 - - [02/Jun/2014:09:07:18 +0200] "GET /wpad.dat HTTP/1.1" 302 302 10.1.14.141 - - [02/Jun/2014:09:07:18 +0200] "GET /wpad.dat HTTP/1.1" 302 302 I don't know whether this is a problem from performance perspective, (the server is powerful enough to handle this) but the problem is it clogs up the access_log file. It grows about 1GB per week. Clients run Win7Pro. What could cause this behavior? What can be done to stop it? I have shortened log rotate window as a temporary workaround to prevent /var fill up.   Here's what I am trying to do, unless I am crazy: I am trying to use Tomcat with the multiple workers, so far I got OpenBD working, but having trouble with Railo, and will be tackling Adobe after. each engine deployed as a war separated by different workers I wanted to keep both the sites and engines inside my sites directory I have to remap the symlink for the WEB-INF when I switch engines = have not found a way around this my thought is to have everything separated into modules and I want to be able to execute both cfm and php code in a single site.  Ideally, it would be amazing if there would be a way to not have to remap the symlink as well. thoughts? can this be done? • Linux Server hacked?

  I'm trying to determine if this linex webserver/openfire server has been compromised by some form of malware or a hacker. Can you please help me determine if this server has been hacked? The snippet of logs below are from the linux server running apache. A few days ago the moodle site, which is installed on the server, started to render the apache default page. Also the access logs show some activity im not sure of. • How to reinstall OEM Windows 98 SE?

  I'm trying to install Windows 98 SE on an old PC and it's not going well. I run into this problem. Searching for Boot Record from Floppy..OK Starting Windows 98... TOSHIBA Enhanced-IDE CD/DVD-ROM Device Driver (ATAPI) Version 2.24 (C)Copyright Toshiba Corp. 1995-1999. All rights reserved. Device Name : TOSCD001 Number of units : 1 MSCDEX Version 2.25 Copyright (C) MIcrosoft Corp. 1986-1995. All rights reserved. Drive Z: = Driver TOSCD001 unit 0 TOSHIBA MACHINE Invalid drive specification Path not found - C:\TOOLS\CDROMDRV.SYS Invalid drive specification Invalid drive specification After that last line, it leaves me at a bitmap image displaying instructions to reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del. It doesn't say why I have to reboot, and it doesn't state any error type, it just want's me to reboot for no apparent reason. After reboot, it just boots up from Floppy again and it cycles through the same thing all over again. The computer has been restored to original specification. Original system recovery "CD-ROM" discs are available and they are not scratched or anything, they are in very good condition. It's a set of 3 CDs, and the first disc labeled "1/3" should be the one holding the OEM version of Windows 98 SE. There is also a boot disk for Windows 98. I'm not sure what the other two discs are for. This computer came with three language support, so those could be holding different language versions or additional OEM discs. But I'm quite sure that the first disc holds the main operating system. BIOS has been set to optimized defaults. Boot priority is as follows; Floppy, IDE-0, CD-ROM. Under Standard CMOS settings, BIOS scans and autoconfigures both the hard drive and the CD/DVD drive. On POST it finds them both, and it finds the DOS bootdisk and starts preparing for installation, as you can see above. So what's this "invalid drive specification" about? Why isn't the installation starting? Updates Update 1 Booting from CD disc 2 In desperation I tried booting from the second CD. Boot order was; Floppy, CD-ROM, IDE-0. It boots normally from floppy disk, just like above, but then returns following. File not found - Z:\3LNGINST\TOOLS\PARTINFO.TXT I accidentally pressed some key on the keyboard, and before I knew it, the following screen showed up. Create Primary DOS Partition Current fixed disk drive: 1 Verifying drive integrity, 16% complete. After completion another screen showed up. Create Primary DOS Partition Current fixed disk drive: 1 Do you wish to use the maximum available size for a Primary DOS Partition and make the partition active (Y/N)?....................? [Y] Verifying drive integrity, 7% complete. I didn't choose Yes, it was set automatically. After completion the computer was automatically rebooted. Then I got a new screen. This is in Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish. Here's the message in Swedish. Hårddisken är inte klar för återställning av programvara. Installationsprogrammet måste skapa nya partitioner (C:, D:, ...). VARNING! ALLT INNEHÅLL PÅ HÅRDDISKEN KOMMER ATT RADERAS! Tryck på en tangent om du vill fortsätta (eller CTRL-C för att avbryta). Let me translate that. Hard drive is not ready for restoring the software. Setup program has to create new partitions (C:, D:, ...). WARNING! ALL CONTENTS ON THE HARD DRIVE WILL BE ERASED! Press any key to continue (or CTRL-C to cancel). I pressed Enter and it started formatting the hard drive. WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABLE DISK DRIVE c: WILL BE LOST! Proceed with Format (Y/N)?y Formatting 14,67.53M 1 percent completed. It automatically sets the "y" option and starts formatting. Rebooting with CD disc 1 After completing this operation it rebooted automatically. I inserted CD disc 1 and there was no issue with "invalid drive specification" anymore. Instead, a bitmap menu was displayed where it asked me to choose a language. And I thought I had it there for a while but it didn't work out. After choosing the language, another menu was displayed asking me to choose a type of recovery (restore pre-installed software OR restore hard drive partitions and pre-installed software). I opted for the second option. Then a data destruction warning showed up where I just pressed 1 to Continue. It did something and then just rebooted and the same formatting screen shows up as before. So something is not right. Am I doing it wrong? I seem to have come past the CD-ROM driver issue at least. But now I'm stuck with this problem... it seems to have something to do with the hard drive. Like... why is is it always trying to format it? Isn't it enough to format it once? By the way, it needs to be formatted as FAT32, right? Windows 98 doesn't support NTFS? I think FDISK should have taken care of this already. I know this is an old hard drive, but I connected to my main computer and it was able to read and write to it without a problem. It does have bad sectors though, but it's expected on an old hard drive like this. Any ideas?.. Update 2 I seem to be repeatedly getting stuck at the format screen where it asks to press any key to continue. So tried to cancel it this time with Ctrl+C. This leaves me at: A:\TOOLS> I can do DIR and CD and I tried to change to Z: drive. I tried running "setup" but there is no such thing.   We are sending routes to Mappoint 2013 from our application using an access database. It seems to happen with Mappoint 2010 and 2011 also. It doesn't happen on all of our clients either and it happens randomly on those who it does happen.   I have a dualboot computer with Windows Vista (on hd0) and Ubuntu 9.10. The bootloader is GRUB and the windows bootloader lets me decide between Vista and Ubuntu-Installation (broken WuBi). But now (i don't know why that changed) I can't use start the windows-bootloader anymore. I tried "ls" on the grub-prompt and it gave me a list like: (hd0) (hd1) (hd1,0) (hd1,1) (hd1,2) ... (fd0) It recognizes all partitions of hd1 (the ubuntu-harddisk) but not of hd0(the win-disk). .. WHY?
