    Hello guys; I have a conceptual question... I am making an Intranet application (Web platform) for a company. I have a SQL Server DB with these tables: Users (userID, userName, userPass, roleID) Roles (roleID, roleName) Pages (pageID, pageURL) RolesXPages(pageID, roleID) How is the best way to create a structure to store all this information while the user navigates the site, I mean, on the thread I should be able to check his role, his pages (the ones he can access) I have been reading and there is a lot of stuff there where Im confused, I saw the MembershipProvider, IPrincipal, IIdentity, etc classes but Im not sure what should be the best one for me. Any thoughts... Thanks in advance! Edit: Everytime gets more confusing... I just want to handle those structures at runtime and be able to mantain state during page callbacks or changing pages...

  • Problem with the scrollbar of a UIWebView

    Hi there! Im using a UIWebView to access a website, when i rotate the phone (landscape) the UIWebView is properly resized and the scrollbar are on the right place (on the right edge...) but when i acess any of input fields to fill the information required and exit it the UIWebView scrollbar jumps to the middle of screen (looks like it get back to 320, the width of the screen on portrait). Some useful info, this program was created using IB, have lots of outlets, im thinking about in do (redo) everything programmatically cause i was not the author of the first version... If anyone have seen this before plz let me know.. Thanks in advance!

    im new to ruby and ruby on rails. im on a new project and would really like to code in ruby. of course u have to use a framework like RoR for web development. so my question is if i should/could use ruby-on-rails 3 for this new project that i will start with in 2-3 weeks from now. are there tutorials for it? is it stable enough? well tested? cause one thing when entering something totally new, you need tutorials and books that teach you how to use it. i guess there arent a lot of sources for this information so maybe its better for me to use the latest stable version? what do you think? thanks

  • How to pause a setTimeout call ?

    Im using jQuery and working on a notification system for my site. The notifications automatically fadeout using the setTimeout function. How can i stop the timer of the setTimeout call? For example i would like to pause the setTimeout call while the mouse is over the notification and continue the count down mouseout... I googled "pause setTimeout" with no luck. Im currently clearing the setTimeout call with clearTimeout and at same time fading out the notification on mouseout but it would be nice to have that pause effect. Any ideas?

    im trying create cards matching game. normally these type of games they match paired cards together (with the same file name "A.jpg with A.jpg") but in my case, im matching cards with different names "B.jpg with A.jpg" (correct), "C.jpg with D.jpg" (correct) but with "B.jpg with C.jpg" (incorrect answer). A.jpg-B.jpg <--correct C.jpg-D.jpg <--correct E.jpg-F.jpg <--correct i face a problem when i generate the cards in random. I manage to generate random cards but i dont manage to generate it with their paired onces. Below is an illustration of the problem A.jpg-B.jpg <--correct C.jpg-F.jpg <--incorrect so how should i code it so that it always generate with their paired onces, so that my game can proceed?

    Im trying to bind a list with datetime objects to my repeater. if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem || e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item) { DateTime actualDate = e.Item.DataItem as DateTime; } When I want access the itemdatabound event on the repeater Then I get an errormessage which says that DateTime is a valuetype and not a reference type. My solution is that a wrap the datetime in a custom object (reference type) and pass that to the repeater datasource instead of the datetime. But Im wondering if there are other solutions where the repeater takes valuetypes (DateTime objects)........

  • Test assembly code on a mac

    Hello, A while back I was following some tutorials an assembly. I was running it all on a windows machine, compiling with NASM and then writing the compiled code to a floppy disk, then reboot and try the code. This process was long and time consuming and sadly was not on a mac. When I found out that Xcode for mac installed NASM I immediately tried to compile some code. The code compiled fine. The issue is testing it. On a mac I have no floppy (not like I want to use one) so Im not sure how to test this. I looked in to Q (kju) and found it would only emulate things on an ISO file. So I guess what Im asking is is it possible to install the compiled code on an ISO file for testing? (Note: the code when compiled forms a .bin file) Thanks for any help

    Im building a new web-app, LAMP environment... im wondering if preg_match can be trusted for user's input validation (+ prepared stmt, of course) for all the text-based fields (aka not html fields; phone, name, surname, etc..). For example, for a classic 'email field', if i check the input like: $email_pattern = "/^([a-zA-Z0-9_\-\.]+)@((\[[0-9]{1,3}\.[0-9]{1,3}\.[0-9]{1,3}\.)" . "|(([a-zA-Z0-9\-]+\.)+))([a-zA-Z]{2,4}" .     I have a table that I created within xcode so there is no nib file in this case. I want to make my table into the 'Grouped' style but im not sure how. I think it has somthing to do with the method below, the problem is Im not really sure how to call it, I do understand how methods work I'm just not too sure on where to start with this one: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame style:(UITableViewStyle)UITableViewStyleGrouped So could someone tell me how to call it?   • Del.icio.us get xml of all posts

    Im trying to get all of my posts in a delicious account to an MySql DB. Since delicious exports xml I think it wont be too complicated, but being new to it I cant really make sense of the api... I believe I have to query it as so: https://api.del.icio.us/v1/posts/all? But one catch is that im using an yahoo id for that account which I need to do it as follows: "To access data from accounts created using a Yahoo! ID, use the same API's as below, but change the path to /v2, and make HTTP requests using OAuth as provided by the Yahoo! Developer Network." I cant understand how to do it, can someone please help. Thanks. EDIT Although I still have the same doubt I figured out I can export the whole thing from the settings in my account, now I just need to get the html export in a xml file :) Also the yahoo method for accessing data, really is no good.

My persistence layer references my domain layer and contains my concrete repository implementations and nhibernate mappings. Currently my UI references my domain layer. My question : How do I use an IOC container to inject my concrete classes, in my persistence layer, into my domain layer? Does this meen that my UI should also reference my persistence layer?

  • iPhone JSON Object

    Hello, I'm trying to create a application that will retrieve JSON data from an HTTP request, send it to a the application main controller as a JSON object then from there do further processing with it. Where I'm stick is actually creating a class that will serve as a JSON class in which will take a URL, grab the data, and return that object. Alone, im able to make this class work, however I can not get the class to store the object for my main controller to retrieve it.   • How to filter rows in JTable based on boolean valued columns?

    Im trying to filter rows based on a column say c1 that contains boolean values. I want to show only rows that have 'true' in c1. I looked up the examples in http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/table.html#sorting. The example uses a regex filter. Is there any way I can use boolean values to filter rows?   • Current date in rails form

    Hi, Im learning rails and exploring a bit away from the book and creating a simple application with added functionality as i increase my knowledge. Im writing a simple blog application and i have a field in the form called date added, i don't want this to be a field i want it to get the date from the server and place it in to the database automatically. How would i go about doing this? I was thinking of a hidden field but then unsure on how to process the date and insert it to the hidden field. Is this the wrong way of going about things?   • iphone uitableview load next detail view from segmented control like mail app

    Hi i have added a segmented control to a detailview header in a subview of a uitableview table and used images for up and down to create a up and down control like the one in mail.app. the buttons are working fine. im after some advice on how to get rid of that items view and reload the next item without having to go back to the main uitableview. im sure i saw some code on this website doing exactly that but i cant find it! can anyone point me in right direction or help? thanks

  • Displaying webcam feed using opencv and python

    Hi ive been trying to create a simple program with python which utilises opencv to get a video feed from my webcam and display it on the screen. I know im partly there because the window is created and the light on my webcam flicks on, but it just doesnt seem to show anything in the window. hopefully someone can explain what im doing wrong. import cv cv.NamedWindow("w1", cv.CV_WINDOW_AUTOSIZE) capture = cv.CaptureFromCAM(0) def repeat(): frame = cv.QueryFrame(capture) cv.ShowImage("w1", frame) while True: repeat() on an unrelated note, i have noticed that my webcam sometimes changes its index number in cv.CaptureFromCAM and sometimes i need to put in 0, 1 or 2 even though i only have one camera connected and i havnt unplugged it (i know because the light doesnt come on unless i change the index). is there a way to get python to determine the correct index? thanks Mitch

I also can add a table (test table called Person with Name and Age), this works good.
