• Show floor-plans online like a map

  Given a floor-plan, which is too big for any screen, even if it is a 17" one, how can I show it online like a map? It would need further functionality that a browser alone does not have (just zoom in/out the entire image won't do the trick). The image will be breaked down into smaller jpgs, so the user will not have to download the whole floorplan at once.It will need some zoom in/zoom out button, and some way or bookmarking position (x,y). open-source solutions prefered.

• DVD (vob file) to online video viewer?

  I've been sent a DVD which needs to be put onto a website, but I honestly don't even know where to start. Do I simply convert the file using some software to MP4(?!) and then use something like http://videojs.com/ to view it online? I'm really sorry for the vague question, but I want to produce the best quality results, with good compression, good quality and a nice video player interface. Would really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!

  I am working on a Windows Forms application in C#/.Net. I want to use a resource file that contains translations of my strings. My my project in visual studio I have the following hierarchy: Project CS files ... Resources\ resource.en-US.resx I am trying to read in the resource file as follows: m_ResourceReader = new ResXResourceReader("resources/resource.en-US.resx"); When I run this project, Visual Studio seems to look for the resources folder in the bin/Debug output folder of my project. My questions are: What is the right way to reference a resource file? I would like my installer to place this resource file under my application's folder under Program Files\MyApp\resources\resource.en-US.resx. What would be the way to make ResXResourceReader read it from that location. Thanks for your help. -Raj

• Getting a Spring resource

  Hello, I'm trying to read a css file with the Resources provided by Spring. My application looks like this: src src/com herer my classes inside packages WebContent WebContent/resources/style/myCSS.css -- the css I want to read WebContent/WEB-INF -- here is my application-context.xml I can get the css and read it by doing something like this: UrlResource file = new UrlResource("http://localhost:8080/myApp/resources/style/myCSS.css"); but it depends on the server and aplication names. I've tried to do it by other implementations of Resource Interface, but the file is not found cause I can't find out how to wite the path. I've tried with this: FileSystemResource file = new FileSystemResource("/WebContent/resources/style/myCSS.css"); I also tried with wildcards, but it doesn't find the file either. ApplicationContext ctx = new FileSystemXmlApplicationContext("classpath*:/WEB-INF/application-context-core.xml"); Resource file = ctx.getResource("file:**/myCSS.css"); How should I write the path to get the css. I already have a theme for my website, so I want to read about best-practices. • keeping xmphp bot always online

  I created a simple xmpp bot in PHP which connects to google talk server. I basically modified the cli_longrun example. When I run the script in browser the bot comes online and stays online for a while even after I close the tab on which the script was running (as it is just an infinite loop listening for events on the stream). But after a while the bot becomes offline. The question is how do I keep the bot always online. One way I can think of is to run a cron that would disconnect the earlier one and start a new session. But is there a better approch?

  I've worked with folks who are chatting online with their peers, constantly batting around ideas. I've also worked with folks who adamantly refuse and think it's a waste of time. Are online live chatting forums of particular use to you? Why or why not? Internal to your company, or external and world-wide? Does your employer encourage or discourage their use? Update: I see some people are voting this question down, yet so far all the answers have been positive, if with some reservations. If someone has a strong negative opinion (I hate online chatting and think it should be banned etc.) I'd really like to hear why.

• zend_acl: Adding extra resources dynamically and getting a param predispatch

  First sorry about the woffle as I'm not sure how best to describe this. Basically I am not sure how I can get param in the bootstrap before the controller is loaded, but here is the long winded version... I have got an acl class storing all my default resources in. All my page/post content is a database and I want the admin the ability to choose who which role the page would become available. I know it is possible just to loop through the database table and add them all in at once, but I am concerned that this is a drain on resources. I have it working whereby my access check plugin can call a dynamic permission function, but I need to get the parameter of the current page ID and it's permission to set it before the controller is loaded. Does that make sense or am I worry over nothing and I should just get the resources of all the pages at once? thanks in advance for reading my garble!!

  Hi, I'm trying to build some kind of a social game in facebook, where I need that every user that has approved my APP is able to receive notifications from me. When the user approves my App, I save his UID in the DB for future reference. At some later time, I want to make it possible for other users find partners for a game - so I need a way to pick randomly some user from my DB and check if he's online. Then, send him a message and propose to play with the current player. So 2 questions: How can I check if some user is online, using Javascript SDK? It seems that in the new Graph API I can't get the users' online status. How can I then send him a message and propose to play the game? • Conditionally embed ASP.NET MVC2 Views as resources during build in Visual Studio 2010

  I have a ASP.NET MVC2 project in VS2010 that can be deployed in two modes: standalone or plugin. In standalone mode, the views should live outside the compiled assembly as .aspx files (the default setup). In plugin mode, the views are switched (currently by hand) to embedded resources and the entire assembly is dropped into a host project folder. Currently, this requires the developer to go through each view and switch it from Build Action: "Content" to "Embedded Resource" and vice versa. I would like to create a new solution configuration to automatically grab all .aspx files and build them as resources. This SO post seems like the solution, but I would prefer not to have to edit the .csproj every single time I add a new view to the project. Is there a way to use a wild cards or some other batch/global conditionally statement to change resources from content to embedded?

When our application bills a customer, it would be nice to have that information recorded automatically in QB rather than logging in to QB Online to fill in the info. Is there a way to accomplish this using Quickbook's APIs? The Intuit developer information is very confusing; it is mainly oriented towards extending the desktop version of Quickbooks or developing apps to publish in Intuit's app store. Have you successfully created a web or other service-side app that was able to pull data to or from QB Online?

• Debugging maven junit tests with filtered resources?

  We are using filtered testResources in JUnit-tests that are usually executed by the maven surefire plugin. That is, the pom contains a section <build> <testResources> <testResource> <directory>src/test/resources</directory> <filtering>true</filtering> </testResource> </testResources> ... How can I run such JUnit-tests in the debugger? If I execute the tests in eclipse the tests fail since the test resources are not filtered. If the filtered test resources would be written somewhere into the target directory, I could just use this as an additional source path - but this is not the case. If I try to run the maven build in eclipse with Debug As / maven test , the build does not stop in the breakpoints. Any other ideas?

It could be PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, C, Java. Idea is that once i have the colored html code, i could easily put that in my wordpress.com blog. I know about [sourcecode language="whatever"] but just wanted to know an online service that supports multiple languages. • Can an app delete its own internal resources?

  I am trying to find a way to delete an internal resource after an app installs. More specifically, I have a zip file included in the apk, that I unzip to the SD Card when the app is first run. But then want to delete the now unneeded zip file (the purpose being to save the user internal phone memory). I access the zip file with, Resources resources = this.getResources(); InputStream is = resources.openRawResource(R.raw.assets); But am uncertain how to then delete the resource (if even possible). I know one may ask why not simply install the app to SD Card at download. But the app includes a screen widget, and installing apps to the SD Card and using a screen widget is problematic. • Get Relative Path to Linked Resource in C#

  I have a number of linked resources (text files in this case) in a C# project I am working on. I know the resources are linked via relative path in the Resources file. Is there any way to get that relative path from within the C# code? If there isn't, what I am trying to do is to pass that resources file to an external application as a commandline argument. If I can't do it the first way (which would obviously be the easiest) any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  I'm looking for resources (preferably books, but websites are fine too) for using FFMPEG and/or SDL with C++. Stuff I'd like to be able to do (eventually): Decode and play videos in realtime to a QT widget (the QT part isn't a problem) Overlay text and images on the video (in realtime) Loop video Cross-fade from one video to another (in realtime) Some kind of DVD functionality LIVE sources? (i.e. webcam, stream, etc.) So far I've looked at (and consider helpful) the following resources: FFMPEG and SDL Tutorial by Dranger (extremely helpful) StackOverflow: ffmpeg C API documentation/tutorial (not a duplicate, btw) Sample code bundled with FFMPEG libraries (I'll try and update this list with anything helpful below) Thanks for any help... Also: Operating System is Windows (but maybe one day cross-platform) Also 2: Resources using alternatives are welcome too... i.e. DirectShow, VFW, etc.

  Since zf 1.10 Zend Framework ships with pre-translated validation messages. They are outside the library path. The manual illustrates how to load these in your bootstrap. $translator = new Zend_Translate( 'array', '/resources/languages', $language, array('scan' => Zend_Locale::LOCALE_DIRECTORY) ); Zend_Validate_Abstract::setDefaultTranslator($translator); I am inclined to think that these resources are specific to the zf-version; validators could change over time. If i copy the resources to my application tree I need to perform additional maintenance each time I upgrade to a newer version. What is best practice? Is there a ZF convention already?

• Installing Win7 over PXE through Serva fails on Loading Network Resources

  Trying to install Win7 OS to a Lenovo E335 with no DVD/CD. I have to do it either over PXE/Network or USB. Although I am able to get passt the installation menu of Serva, it fails on Loading Network Resources ... FAILED No NIC/Driver, ABORTING! This is the only log on the Serva Client PC and nothing on the Serva-server. Would appreciate if someone can tell me how to go pass this error. THe network card works fine, it has already loaded the Windows installation structure on a X: drive on the new laptop. Another detail: I am using a normal Ethernet Cable to connect the PCs. Should this be enough or a crossover cable is a must in this case?

• Online remount btrfs of root filesystem with different subvolume (snapshot) [migrated]

  Let's say you have a btrfs root filesystem on an online system. You want to revert the filesystem to an earlier state, of which you have a snapshot: remount /dev/sdaX / -o remount,subvol=snapshots/Y For the record, I've done this in a test system, and it does not work. The command returns with no errors, but the subvolume mounted is the same. If this did work, what would be the consequences? My guess is that open file descriptors would still point to the old subvolume, thus possibly leading to "data loss" on the new subvolume, if one was not careful. Assuming one goes to the trouble of closing and reopening all open file descriptors, does this sound feasible? Or are there other types of problems?

  I have a ZyXel GS2200-24 managed switch, and a free-radius server running on Ubuntu 11.10. Radius is configured and when I log into the switch the authentication goes through Radius. Now, I'm trying to ensure that access to web resources (as an example, I set up a web server on the ip 192.168.1.2) requires first authenticating with radius, before the switch will allow the connection. Am I correct that this should be handled at the switch level? What are these rules usually called / how are they usually defined?

  Hi I am using Windows Server 2003 SP 2 and SQL Server 2005 Enterprise edition I am creating a "Rebuild Index" job for a particular database and I am successfully able to run the job. But when I try to enable the "Keep index online while rebuilding" option, the job does not execute successfully and throws out errors. I have attached the screenshots.
