Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information. at System.Reflection.Module._GetTypesInternal(StackCrawlMark& stackMark) at System.Reflection.Assembly.GetTypes() at Microsoft.Tools.SvcHost.ServiceHostHelper.LoadServiceAssembly(String svcAssemblyPath) There is a suggestion that it might be a configuration error, but I don't see it when comparing to a similar, working example. How do I "Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property" when it happens this early? Thanks!

    I have Listpreferences in my app. They don't appear to be setting to their defaults right after installation - they appear to be null. I'm trying to figure out why my default preferences are not being set right after installation. In my main code I have: SharedPreferences sp = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); InUnits = sp.getString("List1", "defValue"); InAngs = sp.getString("List2", "defValue"); OutUnits = sp.getString("List3", "defValue"); OutAngs = sp.getString("List4", "defValue"); Right after the above code executes, each variable contains "defValue" instead of the actual values I have assigned in my ListPreference below. My preference xml file is called, "settings.xml". Here's what one of the ListPreferences there looks like: <ListPreference android:key="List1" android:title="Input: Alph" android:summary="Choose Alph or Ralph" android:entries="@array/inputAlph" android:entryValues="@array/input_Alph_codes" android:dialogTitle="Input Alph" android:defaultValue="ININ"/> Here's what some of my strings.xml file looks like: <string-array name="inputUnits"> <item>Alph</item> <item>Ralph</item> </string-array> <string-array name="input_Alph_codes"> <item>ININ</item> <item>INMM</item> </string-array> When I go to menu, and then settings, I can see my defaults checked (radiobuttoned). Then when I go back from the settings menu to my main screen - all is well - for life! ...then each var above is assigned the proper default value. This only happens when I first install my app on the phone. After I go to the settings screen once and then right out of it, the app is fine and accepts any setting changes. By the way, as you can see, "List1" is the android:key within a file called settings.xml in my res/xml folder.

  • How to speed up WPF programs?

    I love programming with and for Windows Presentation Framework. Mostly I write browser-like apps using WPF and XAML. But what really annoys me is the slowness of WPF. A simple page with only a few controls loads fast enough, but as soon as a page is a teeny weeny bit more complex, like containing a lot of data entry fields, one or two tab controls, and stuff, it gets painful. Loading of such a page can take more than one second. Seconds, indeed, especially on not so fast computers (read: the customers computers) it can take ages. Same with changing values on the page. Everything about the WPF UI is somehow sluggy. This is so mean! They give me this beautiful framework, but make it so excruciatingly slow so I'll have to apologize to our customers all the time! My Question: How do you speed up WPF? How do you profile bottlenecks? How do you deal with the slowness? Since this seems to be an universal problem with WPF, I'm looking for general advice, useful for many situations and problems.     I found this website that lets you insert and delete items from a B-tree and shows you visually what the B-tree looks like: java b-tree I'm looking for another website or program similar to this. This site does not allow you to specify a B-tree of order 4 (4 pointers and 3 elements), it only lets you specify B-trees with an even number of elements. Also, if possible, I'd like to be able to insert letters instead of numbers. I think I actually found a different site but that was a while ago and can't find it anymore.

  • MFC SDI Application without a default "New Document" on Startup

    My application is an SDI with multiple views. By default, it creates a new document when the application starts. I want to modify this behavior so that a new document is created only when user explicitly clicks on "New". Or at least mimic this behavior. Any ideas? I am using Visual Studio 2008 with MFC feature pack. I googled and found some solution to this problem in an old MS Journal article. But unfortunately it doesn't seem to work now. Any workarounds or solutions? In short, I need to differentiate between framework call to OnFileNew() and User Click on New.

    I have a rails 2.3.5 app getting upgraded to Rails 3. I did every thing I am required to do for upgrading and when I start the rails server using rails server it gives me this Please switch to Ruby 1.9's standard CSV library. It's FasterCSV plus support for Ruby 1.9's m17n encoding engine. I am using ruby-1.9.2-p0 and have fastercsv (1.5.3) gem installed. with the help of puts statements, i was able to track down where the error occurred. i found that the execution stops at this line Bundler.require(:default, Rails.env) if defined?(Bundler) in application.rb file. I tried many things but none worked .. please help..

Which program is the "best", where best is some combination of easiest to use, best prior estimation, fast How do I incorporate my intuitions about topicality. Let's say I think I know that some items in the corpus are really in the same category, like all articles by the same author. Can I add that into the analysis? Any unexpected pitfalls or tips I should know before embarking? I'd prefer is there are R or Python front ends for whatever program, but I expect (and accept) that I'll be dealing with C.

    Hi, When I compile my Visual c++ 2008 express program from inside the IDE and redistribute it on another computer, It starts up fine without any dll dependencies that I haven't accounted for. When I compile the same program from the visual c++ 2008 command line under the start menu and redistribute it to the other computer, it looks for msvcr90.dll at start-up.   • COM AddIn for Outlook Tries to Install Self on Startup

    Hi, I have an outlook addin that I have been developing for some time now, and am experiencing a problem. If I have a computer with two 'administrator' users (call them User A and User B), the addin installs and runs just fine as long as the same user tries to run it. In other words, if User A installs the addin, then User A has no problem using. The strange behavior comes in when we see the following scenario: User A installs the addin (for all users), User B launches outlook and observes that the addin is trying to install itself yet again. If User B cancels out of the 'install', he can then go and use the addin just fine. Right now, I use office's registry key propagation to do an 'all users' install, and I inspected the registry for any duplications and found none. I even used the officeins tool to try and detect if there was any duplication going on, and found none. I'm really bewildered as to why the addin would try to install itself over and over again. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

    I am looking for a means to kill a Windows exe program that, when being tested from a python script, crashes and presents a dialog to the user; as this program is invoked many times, and may crash repeatedly, this is not suitable. The problem dialog is the standard reporting of a Windows error: "Foo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and offers a Debug, Send Error Report, and Don't Send buttons. I am able to kill other forms of dialog resulting from crashes (e.g. a Debug build's assert failure dialog is OK.) I have tried taskkill.exe, pskill, and the terminate() function on the Popen object from the subprocess module that was used to invoke the .exe Has anyone encountered this specific issue, and found a resolution? I expect automating user input to select the window, and press the "Don't Send" button is one possible solution, but I would like something far simpler if possible
