  • Ubuntu - Install Mate Desktop - Themes missing?

    - by wegsehen
I just installed Mate on top of Ubuntu by the following commands: sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://packages.mate-desktop.org/repo/ubuntu oneiric main" sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install mate-archive-keyring sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install mate-core sudo apt-get install mate-desktop-environment Which caused no problems, but many things (window theme, Mint menu, ...) are missing. It looks like: But it should look like: How can I install the missing packages?

  • Use gnome custom themes appearance in KDE?

    - by piedro
Is there a way to get the colors of a gnome custom theme to KDE without matching every single setting manually? (Theres tons of different color settings in the KDE color schemes, most of which I even don't know where they are applied ... I use KDE with compiz to run emerald as windows decorator. Because I really like the "Elementary"-theme. Because my eyes aren't that great I had to tweak the gtk-elementary theme for some additional contrast. I saved it as "elementary-piedro". Now I want to choose this theme in KDE-Systemsettings/appearance/gtk-applications but it doesnt't show the tweaked version? Where is it saved by the normal "gnome appearance preferences"-utility? Is there a way to use the tweaked settings for KDE-applications?

  • Updated Blue and Dark Visual Studio 2010 Themes

I updated my previous dark theme for Visual Studio 2010 and added a new one with a blue background, similar to the background (but a bit lighter) to that of Visual Studio 2010s blue. I updated a few fonts to fit in with it and for the past week I have been using this and found that its even easier on my eyes than the dark theme. I made some changes to the dark theme, too, and include both of them in the download file here. My Blue Theme (click the images to see them larger)   My Dark...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Licenses that i can use for my works, web apps, desktop apps, wordpress themes etc

    - by jiewmeng
I originally thought of creative commons when while reading a book about wordpress (professional wordpress), I learned that I should also specify that the product is provided ... WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE and they recommend GNU GPL. How do I write a license or select 1? btw, what does 'MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE' mean actually? Isn't without warranty enough?

  • looking for dark, high contrast theme

    - by d3pd
I am looking for a dark, contrast theme. Most dark, high-contrast themes I have tried do not give sufficient contrast to many edges, such as the edges of buttons, tabs, windows and other borders. Could you recommend themes that would provide such features? Alternatively, could you recommend a guide to changing a fairly dark theme, such as Numix-Cyanogen, such that it would feature light button, tab, window and other borders? Roughly visually, what I mean is to from this: to something like this:

  • Using Feature to apply themes in SharePoint 2013 Preview

    - by panjkov
In my previous post I wrote about applying custom theme to SharePoint 2013 site using new theming engine. I also mentioned that one approach for implementing this functionality could be to encapsulate this code in Feature receiver. In this post, I will demonstrate and explain this approach for applying custom theme to SPWeb. Our custom theming Feature will On Feature Activated create and apply new theme to the existing web, while preserving information about current theme On Feature Deactivating...(read more)

  • Ubuntu 12.04 menu bar, nautilus, terminal, and gtk themes not working after installation of Gimp 2.8

    - by Chris
I installed gimp2.8 from this ppa: ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp after that, my system began having problems. This is my thought process in trying to fix what's happened and the order in which it happened: I noticed the menu bar at the top changed from an opaque black to perfectly clear and the titles of applications and the hidden buttons reacted slowly. No big deal, restarted to see if it fixed it. It didn't, in fact, when the logon screen came up, the password field was grey and boxy like a default windows 98 theme (that's the best I can describe it) as were all the option buttons for gtk programs. I open terminal to try and reinstall gtk, but the terminal is just a black screen with no ability to input commands. I go to a tty and I reinstalled gtk3 and gtk2 (I have both on my system. I don't think they're in conflict, they hadn't been before hand). I restarted. Nothing doing. Log in, nautilus isn't placing icons on my desktop. I click the launcher. It flashes, but no window opens. Try to open by Alt+f2, nothing. I purge ubuntu-desktop, restart, reinstall ubuntu-desktop. Nothing. I have no clue what to do at this point so I'm asking for any help diagnosing the problem and fixing it.

This morning we published the final release of the Silverlight 4 Tools for Visual Studio and WCF RIA Services. In April, when Silverlight 4 was released, the tools were still in RC status. Today, they are no longer and are officially released. There is no new update to Silverlight itself, but these tools are the final bits of this version. • WPF CheckBox style with the TextWrapping

    - by Shurup
I need you a TextWrapping in the WPF CheckBox. Please look at this two samples: <CheckBox> <TextBlock TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="_This is a long piece of text attached to a checkbox."/> </CheckBox> <CheckBox> <AccessText TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="_This is a long piece of text attached to a checkbox."/> </CheckBox> If I use a TextBlock in the Content of the CheckBox, the check element (vertical alignment is top) and the text displays properly, but not the accelerator. If I use an AccessText in the Content of the CheckBox, the check element displays wrong (vertical alignment is center). How to change the style of the elements to display this CheckBox correct?

  • WPF TreeView databinding to hide/show expand/collapse icon

    - by Julian Lettner
I implemented a WPF load-on-demand treeview like described in this (very good) article. In the mentioned solution a dummy element is used to preserve the expand + icon / treeview item behavior. The dummy item is replaced with real data, when the user clicks on the expander. I want to refine the model by adding a property public bool HasChildren { get { ... } } to my backing TreeNodeViewModel. Question: How can I bind this property to hide/show the expand icon (in XAML)? I am not able to find a suitable trigger/setter combination. (INotifyPropertyChanged is properly implemented.) Thanks for your time. Update 1: I want to use my property public bool HasChildren instead of using the dummy element. Determining whether or not an item has children is somewhat costly, but still much cheaper than fetching the children.

  • WPF ListView ScrollViewer Double-Click Event

    - by Sentax
Doing the below will reproduce my problem: New WPF Project Add ListView Name the listview: x:Name="lvList" Add enough ListViewItems to the ListView to fill the list completely so a vertical scroll-bar appears during run-time. Put this code in the lvList.MouseDoubleClick event Debug.Print("Double-Click happened") Run the application Double-click on the LargeChange area of the scroll-bar (Not the scroll "bar" itself) Notice the Immediate window printing the double-click happened message for the ListView How do I change this behavior so MouseDoubleClick only happens when the mouse is "over" the ListViewItems and not when continually clicking the ScrollViewer to scroll down/up in the list?

  • WPF WebBrowser NavigateToString vs NavigateToStream (hebrew/non-utf8 encodings)

    - by David E
When I use WPF WebBrowser's NavigateToString method to display UTF8 html (with hebrew text in it) it's displayed perfectly. However, when I try to use the NavigateToString to display html with hebrew text in it in a non-utf8 encoding (CodePage 1255 to be exact) the hebrew is messed up. I checked the cp1255 string in Visual Studio's debugger and it looks great, and also when I save the source of the web browser's contents and open it with an external browser it looks great. If I use the NavigateToStream method instead of the NavigateToString method it works great. What's the problem with the NavigateToString? am I doing something wrong?

  • WPF - Pan & Zoom Image

    - by Yuval Peled
I want to create a simple image viewer in WPF that will enable the user to: Pan (by mouse dragging the image). Zoom (with a slider). Show overlays (rectangle selection for example). Show original image (with scroll bars if needed). Can you explain how to do it? I didn't find a good sample on the web. Should I use ViewBox? Or ImageBrush? Do I need ScrollViewer? Thanks!

  • Paste Event in a WPF TextBox

    - by code-zoop
I have created a custom control inheriting TextBox. This custom control is a numeric TextBox, only supporting numbers. I am using OnPreviewTextInput to check each new character being typed to see if the character is a valid input. This works great. However, if I paste the text into the TextBox, OnPreviewTextInput is not fired. What is the best way to capture pasted text in a TextBox? Also, I have a problem when the back space is pressed, I can't figure out what event this will fire. OnPreviewTextInput is not fired! any ideas how to capture pasted text and back space events in WPF TextBox? Thanks

  • How to make WPF DataGrid Column Header transparent

    - by joerage
    Hi, I am trying to make the column header of my WPF Datagrid to be transparent. I am able to set it to a color without problem, but I can't have it transparent. Here is what I tried: <Style x:Key="DatagridColumnHeaderStyle" TargetType="{x:Type tk:DataGridColumnHeader}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Transparent" /> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="#C2C4C6" /> </Style> <Style x:Key="DashboardGridStyle" TargetType="{x:Type tk:DataGrid}"> <Setter Property="ColumnHeaderStyle" Value="{StaticResource DatagridColumnHeaderStyle}" /> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Transparent" /> <Setter Property="RowBackground" Value="Transparent" /> </Style> <tk:DataGrid Style="{StaticResource DashboardGridStyle}" > ... </tk:DataGrid> With this code, it seems to take the default brush. What am I missing?

  • WPF HwndHost keyboard focus

    - by Adal
The chart area in the screenshot is a HwndHost control which hosts a native Win32 window (with it's own registered WNDCLASS) implemented in C++/CLI and drawn with Direct2D. The HwndHost is hosted in a WPF Border control. The problem I have is that I can't set the keyboard focus to the hosted Win32 window. I want the focus to move to the hosted Win32 window when the used clicks on the chart area. I tried calling SetFocus on WM_LBUTTONDOWN, but that screws app the focus in the rest of the application. Currently, even if I click on the Win32 window, the focus remains on the tree-view on the left, and if I press the up/down cursor keys, the tree-view will get them, not the chart window. How do I make the hosted Win32 window receive keyboard input from when the user clicks on the chart area, until it clicks on another control (like the tree-view, or the toolbar)?

  • Rendering WPF DrawingGroup to single ImageSource

    - by Xander
Currently I'm using a System.Windows.Media.DrawingGroup to store some tiled images (ImageDrawing) inside the Children-DrawingCollection property. Well the problem is now, this method gets really slow if you display the entire DrawingGroup in an Image control, because my DrawingGroup can contain hundreds or even thousands of small images it can really mess up the performance. So my first thought was to somehow render a single image from all the small ones inside the DrawingGroup and then only display that image, that would be much faster. But as you might have figured out I haven't found any solution so simply combine several images with WPF Imaging. It would really be great if someone could help with this problem or tell me how i can improve the performance with the DrawingGroup or even use another approach. One last thing, currently I'm using a RenderTargetBitmap to generate a single BitmapSource from the DrawingGroup, this approach isn't really faster, but it makes the scrolling and working on the Image control at least a little smoother.

  • Custom CheckBox in WPF DataGrid does not update binding

    - by Pakman
In my Visual Studio 2010 WPF application, I have the following (simplified) style: <Style x:Key="MyStyle" TargetType="{x:Type CheckBox}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Blue" /> </Style> If I use it as the ElementStyle AND EditingElementStyle in my DataGridCheckBoxColumn: <DataGridCheckBoxColumn Binding="{Binding IsEnabled}" ElementStyle="{StaticResource MyStyle}" EditingElementStyle="{StaticResource MyStyle}" /> Then my binding, IsEnabled, does not toggle when I check/uncheck a row's checkbox. If I remove either ElementStyle, EditingElementStyle, or both, then the binding updates no problem. Why is this?! Also, I tried to work around the problem using the following code: <DataGridTemplateColumn> <DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <CheckBox IsChecked="{Binding IsEnabled}" /> </DataTemplate> </DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </DataGridTemplateColumn> However, the problem remains.
