• Concatenating rows from different tables into one field

  Hi! In a project using a MSSQL 2005 Database we are required to log all data manipulating actions in a logging table. One field in that table is supposed to contain the row before it was changed. We have a lot of tables so I was trying to write a stored procedure that would gather up all the fields in one row of a table that was given to it, concatenate them somehow and then write a new log entry with that information. I already tried using FOR XML PATH and it worked, but the client doesn't like the XML notation, they want a csv field. Here's what I had with FOR XML PATH: DECLARE @foo varchar(max); SET @foo = (SELECT * FROM table WHERE id = 5775 FOR XML PATH('')); The values for "table", "id" and the actual id (here: 5775) would later be passed in via the call to the stored procedure. Is there any way to do this without getting XML notation and without knowing in advance which fields are going to be returned by the SELECT statement?

• Data tweaking code runs fine when executed directly - but never stops when used in trigger

  I have written some code to ensure that items on an order are all numbered (the "position number" or "item number" has been introduced only recently and we did not want to go and change all related code - as it is "asthetics only" and has no functional impact.) So, the idea is to go and check for an records that jave an itemno of NULL or 0 - and then compute one and assign it. When executing this code in a query window, it works fine. When putting it into an AFTER INSERT-trigger, it loops forever.   I have run into an interesting problem. I am currently developing php page and need to access a php variable within the javascript onload. $(document).ready(function() { var temp = <?php $page_id ?> } is this valid? I know that this might seem weird and not be allowed but I am developing a page that has two popup windows. The windows are created using the same view template and there is no way to distinguish between each other. If I stored a hidden value on the page with information unique to the page like so <input type="hidden" value="<?php $page_id ?> id="page_id" /> if there are two views open at the same time there is no way for me to get a unique page id like so var temp = $("#page_id").val(); Because there are two views witht he same input id that is not unique. Long story short is it valid to reference a php variable in the javascript.

I could see the reason as it looks the value in "${somelist}" , but it is not used in save method. Do i just need to check for null in the gsp and use whichever map is available, or any better method (passing all the map in the save method is not an option) .. thanks in advance..

  For my Grails application I want to set up Google Analytics to track only "partial" url's. I 'll explain: a typical Grails url consists of the following parts: domain + application-name + controller + action + id e.g. www.mydomain.com/myapp/controller/action/12345 As far as I understand for Google Analytics the page to be tracked is identified by the entire url. For my purpose I'm not interested in the id part of the url: I want to know which actions have been performed, but I need not know for which id the action was executed. And of course I would like a generic solution, because I have multiple controllers and multiple actions... Maybe some kind of filter stating "I want to track pages 3 levels deep (/myapp/controller/action)" would do? Or a filter stating "exclude everything from url after the last /"?   If I were to extricate my current membership provider from my solution, i.e. as a dll and expose it as a web service with it's own db, how would I model the relationships with regards to SOA design. For example I have a table: USER id, name, lastname, username, password, role. and table PRODUCT id, name, price, createdate, userid the foreign key being userid to table user. How would I model the relationship and/or query the db. If I wanted to get all products that were uploaded today for example, before I would query: SELECT u.name, u.lastname, u.username, p.* FROM PRODUCT p INNER JOIN USER u ON p.userid = u.id WHERE createdate = '05/05/2010' Now that I don't have the table within the database how would I perform this query? • Why can't I publish MVC project

  I'm having problems publishing my MVC project. When I do publish and upload everything to web server I get this: [InvalidOperationException: The view 'Index' or its master could not be found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/Home/Index.aspx ~/Views/Home/Index.ascx ~/Views/Shared/Index.aspx ~/Views/Shared/Index.ascx] Weird thing is that Index.aspx exists in ~/Views/Home/, but IIS cannot find it there. If I copy entire project to web server and let asp.net compile it on the fly it works like a charm.   Getting attributes using minidom in Python, one uses the "attributes" property. e.g. node.attributes["id"].value So if I have <a id="foo"></a>, that should give me "foo". node.attributes["id"] does not return the value of the named attribute, but an xml.dom.minidom.Attr instance. But looking at the help for Attr, by doing help('xml.dom.minidom.Attr'), nowhere is this magic "value" property mentioned. I like to learn APIs by looking at the type hierarchy, instance methods etc. Where did this "value" property come from?? Why is it not listed in the Attr class' page? The only data descriptors mentioned are isId, localName and schemaType. Its also not inherited from any superclasses. Since I'm new to Python, would some of the Python gurus enlighten?

  Hi guys, as the comments always have it, you can select to show the top 5 comments (which i know how) and if there is more than 5, you can click a link and it will show the following 5 comments. The problem is that i don't know how the code should be for it to show the next 5. Better idea of what i'm saying Let's say i have 10 comments, i use SELECT * FROM news ORDER BY ID DESC LIMIT 5 that will show the TOP 5 comments say, the comments with ID 10,9,8,7,6 but what if i want the comments with ID 5,4,3,2,1 ?

  I have a table called transactions with a many-to-many relationship to items through the items_transactions table. I want to do something like this: SELECT "transactions".* FROM "transactions" INNER JOIN "items_transactions" ON "items_transactions".transaction_id = "transactions".id INNER JOIN "items" ON "items".id = "items_transactions".item_id WHERE (items.id IN (<list of items>)) But this gives me all transactions that have one or more of the items in the list associated with it and I only want it to give me the transactions that are associated with all of those items. Any help would be appreciated.

• Can't print elements in a DIV tag

  I am using a Drag-able and re-sizeable DIV's in this HTML file. Where the user will place the DIV tag to his desired place in a main parent DIV tag.   I know the title is a bit confusing but bare with me. (I'm up for suggestions on a new title lol) I'm writing a TemplateEngine that will allow me to use my own markup in text based files. I'm wanting to add controls as plugins as the application matures. Currently i've got a structure like the following: interface IControl string Id object Value class Label : IControl string Id string Value class Repeater : IControl string Id List<IControl> Value Now you'll see the strange part right away in the Repeater class with the Value property. I was hoping that having the Value type as object in the interface would allow me the flexibility to expand the controls as i go along. The compiler doesn't like this and for good reason i guess. Does anyone have any suggestions how to accomplish this? Note: Please don't go into suggesting things like use Spark View Engine for templating. There is a reason i'm creating extra work for myself.
