  I'm trying to get will paginate to link to my nested route instead of the regular posts variable. I know I'm supposed to pass some params to paginate but I don't know how to pass them. Basically there is an array stored in @posts and the other param paginate has access to is category_id. • differences between using wmode="transparent", "opaque", "window" for an embedded object on webpage

  when embedding a Flash object with the <object and <embed tag, there is an attribute called "wmode". It seems that most of the time, wmode="transparent" is the same as wmode="opaque" as the Flash doesn't actually have any transparent color so that the bottom HTML element is to be shown. As a result, "opaque" should be faster than "transparent" since it require less processing for transparency, yet most of the time i see Flash object embedded with "transparent" instead of "opaque". "opaque" is needed so that other HTML element won't be covered up by the Flash object. (such as a menu item that pops up an extra sub-menu won't be covered up by the Flash object). By the way, is there formal documentation for wmode's "opaque", "transparent", and "window"? I was only able to find blogs that describe it but not the formal documentation. thanks.

I'm trying to insert reference to the javascript file in the header by using drupal_add_js function. I placed this line inside template preprocess function of template.php. The result....is not working at all. There is no script link in output as it should be. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong? I'll put it in this example: Imagine that there is no SMTP, and consequently, it is globally assumed and accepted that you can only send email to addresses on the same domain. The result would be the emergence of a single email service, let's call it emailbook.com, which we all have to subscribe to, if we really want to communicate with the world. This is what's happening with social networking today. You HAVE to use the same service your fiends/colleagues are using to talk to them. I would like to be able to put up my own social site, invite my friends who trust me, share amongst us, but still be able to share with the world at large. • Save matrix of double values in OpenCV

  I have an OpenCV matrix of double (CV_32F) values. I'd like to save it to the disk. I know, I could convert it to an 1-Channel 8-bit IplImage and save it. But that way, I loose precision. Is there a way to save it directly in the 32-bit format, without having to convert it first? It also would be nice, if the resulting file would have an image format, so I can view the result as an image.

• user table with javaDB and Hibernate from within grails

  let's see if I can ask this in an understandable way... I started with grails and created a domain class called user. As far as I understand, Hibernate is used to map this domain class to the database. This works pretty fine with hsqldb. Now I tried to switch to javaDB and get an error message because the table is called "user" (which seems to be a reserved word for javaDB). So a statement like create table user ... will result in an error message. create table "user" ... works, but Hibernate seems not put put the table name in quotes. How can I configure Hibernate to use quotes in order to make it work with my table name? PS: yes, I know, I could map the domain class to another table name... :-)

  When I use some of php's encryption functions, I end up getting a few characters I don't want (+, /, =). The problem is that my application doesn't allow these in the url. I'm wondering if there's a good way of encrypting an integer and having only alphanumeric characters in the result? I'm trying to pass some data through the url. I know it's possible to do some workarounds (put data in database and pass the id to the row or something), but I really want to try it this way. Ideas?

• Using a UIPickerView to make a CoreData Relationship

  Okay, so I have a fairly simple application set up. I have two different CoreData Entities, Games and Platforms, each have one attribute: name, and they have a one-to-many relationship between them. Platforms are populated on the first launch of the application, and will never change as a result of user input. I'm working on my Add view to let the user add new games to their personal database, and each game should select from a platform. The add view itself is a grouped table view with static custom cells. Tapping the platform cell should advance the user to another view to select the platform. My thought is that UIPickerView seems like a logical choice for the control, since the Platform list is static, but I'm not sure how to use it with CoreData. Even if I construct a fetch request to get the Platform objects and extract the strings out, how do I go about linking the new Game object to the original Platform object?

I'm setting up a simple macro Option Explicit Sub Macro1() Dim sheet sheet = Worksheets.Item(1) ' This line has the error End Sub On the line with the error, I get "Run-time error '438' Object doesn't support this property or method" I can use the Watch window to see that "Worksheets.Item(1)" is a valid object. I've tried changing it to "Dim sheet As Worksheet" but same result. Ok, so what am I missing? Why does this error occur? Thanks! -Mike

Let's say I have 2 xsd files e.g "Envelope.xsd" and "Body.xsd" I create 2 sets of classes by running xsd.exe, creating something like "Envelope.cs" and "Body.cs", so far so good. I can't figure out how to link the two classes to serialize (using XmlSerializer) into the proper nested xml, i.e: I want: <Envelope><DocumentTitle>Title</DocumentTitle><Body>Body Info</Body></Envelope> But I get: <Envelope><DocumentTitle>Title</DocumentTitle></Envelope><Body>Body Info</Body> Could someone perhaps show me how the two .cs classes should look to enable XmlSerializer to runt the desired nested result?   I am accessing this data from a web server using NSURL, what I am trying to decide is should I read this as XML or should I just use NSScanner and rip out the [data] bit I need. I have looked around the web for examples of extracting fields from XML on the iPhone but it all seems a bit overkill for what I need. Can anyone make any suggestions or point me in the right direction. For each vertex of a DAG find the sum of its in-degree and out-degree in the DAG's transitive closure.   Hi all, I have a server-generated html like: <ul> <li><!-- few nested elements that form a block --></li> <li><!-- few nested elements that form anaother block --></li> <li><!-- etc, X times --></li> </ul> All blocks have known width 200px and unknown height. I want <li> to be arranged in table-like fashion like this: What I have for now is following css: li { display: block; width: 200px; float: left; margin: 10px; } All is fine except that columns don't get equal height. And in example above block #4 “snatch” at #1 and the result isn't what I'm trying to achieve: Is there any pure-CSS cross-browser way that will allow grid layout I want and will not enforce markup change?

• Is it possible to "merge" the values of multiple records into a single field without using a stored

  A co-worker posed this question to me, and I told them, "No, you'll need to write a sproc for that". But I thought I'd give them a chance and put this out to the community. Essentially, they have a table with keys mapping to multiple values. For a report, they want to aggregate on the key and "mash" all of the values into a single field. Here's a visual: --- ------- Key Value --- ------- 1 A 1 B 1 C 2 X 2 Y The result would be as follows: --- ------- Key Value --- ------- 1 A,B,C 2 X,Y They need this in SQLServer 2005. Again, I think they need to write a stored procedure, but if anyone knows a magic out-of-the-box function that does this, I'd be impressed.

• Full outer join in django

  How can I create a query for a full outer join across a M2M relationchip using the django QuerySet API? It that is not supported, some hint about creating my own manager to do this would be welcome. Edited to add: @S.Lott: Thanks for the enlightenment. The need for the OUTER JOIN comes from the application. It has to generate a report showing the data entered, even if it still incomplete. I was not aware of the fact that the result would be a new class/model. Your hints will help me quite a bit.

• How to check if an apply-template filled variable is a string or (possibly) empty node in XSLT?

  I need a test which would evaluate to true in two cases: There is a string inside which contains any non white space characters There is any node (which can be possibly empty) on a variable that is filled with apply-template call result. I tried test="normalize-space($var)" but this doesn't cover the empty tag possibility. I also tried simply this: test="$var" but this evaluate to true even for white space only strings. By the way "$var/*" produces an error "Expression ...something I don't remember... node-set" which is I think because of apply-template variable instantiation. Is there any (which means even multi level decision) solution for this? EDIT: I forgot to say that it's for XSLT 1.0 and preferably without any exslt extensions or similar.
