• Embedding an existing exe file into another C++ program

  Is there a way to link an existing .exe file with other C++ source files during compilation? What I'm actually trying to do is to compress and decompress some files in my console program using LZMA(7zip) SDK but unfortunately it's very difficult to use for a newbie. There is a command line version of LZMA called 7za.exe and I am wondering if I can somehow embed it into my program and use it like a function. It can be easily used with system() function (which seems to be a very dangerous thing to use) but then if I send my program to someone who doesn't have 7za.exe in the right folder it won't work. I came across CreateProcess() function in windows.h header files but it seems to achieve what system() does in a more proper and advanced way. I don't know if it can actually link the exe file like an object file during compilation

• Object drag delay issue

  I have this code that drags stuff around perfectly in IE - however in firefox the onmousedown-drag of the object does not immediately drag but shows the no-entry cursor and then after onmouseup the object drags around freely. The object does stop draging on the next onmouseup. The object should only drag in the onmousdown state, while the onmousup call should cancel the drag by making j_OK=0.   Can't find a simple solution to this, I know it's easy and I've tried a few things but I can't quite get it to work. I'm currently working with a sidescrolling site and I want every time you click an image (contained in an li) it scrolls to the next li. I have jQuery plugin localscroll so it smoothly goes from one to the next, and that's working. I need to now write a code that triggers jQuery to utilize the localscroll function and go to the next li.   Hello, gcc 4.4.2 c89 I have a function that has to run (config_relays). It make a call to a API function called set_relay, then the code has to wait before continuing until the event for set_relay event has completed. The set_relay is any Async call. i.e. void run_processes() { switch() { case EV_RELAY_SET: break; } } void config_relays() { set_relay(); /* Wait until EV_RELAY_SET has fired */ /* Cannot do init_relay until set_relay event has fired - has to block here */ init_relay(); } I guess I could put the init_relay() in the switch. However, that event is used for other things and not just for initializing the relay. I would really like to handle everything in the config_relays function. In C# you can do this by using autoreset. But my problem is return of the function is appending the words. I want it as like follows: line = " I am feeling good , but I cant talk" Let "I,but,cant" are stopwords.   I use $.(ajax) function extensively in my app to call ASP.net web services. I would like to write a wrapper in order to centralize all the ajax calls. I found few simple solutions, but none address an issue of passing parameters to delegates, for example, if i have: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost/TemplateWebService/TemplateWebService/Service.asmx/GetFoobar", data: jsonText, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(response) { var results = (typeof response.d) == 'string' ? eval('(' + response.d + ')') : response.d; OnSuccess(results, someOtherParam1, someOtherParam2); }, error: function(xhr, status, error) { OnError(); } }); The wrapper to this call would have to have the way to pass someOtherParam1, someOtherParam2 to the OnSuccess delegate...Aside from packing the variables into a generic array, I can't think of other solutions.   Hello guys, I was hoping someone can shed some light on what might be occurring on my page. Okay what I currently have on my page is a simple form that collects first name, last name, city, state and email. Once submitted it will hit a PHP page that updates our DB and echo's back to the designted div with a class of .response. On my webpage I've a sidebar containing a list of markers with onclick event executing showDetails method, that looks like: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); }; The problem is that i cannot both panTo and openInfoWindowHtml in one method, it pans but won't open tooltip and when i change method to: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); }; it opens tooltip but won't center map to the marker's anchor coordinates. Even using wait function doesn't solve my problem. What am I doing wrong?

• Run JavaScript after a DropDownList is DataBound

  I need to trigger a JavaScript function to be called AFTER a DropDownList on my ASP.NET WebForms page is DataBound, because the SelectedIndex of this DropDownList is the parameter to the JavaScript function. I've tried this various ways, but it seems that if I do it with pure JavaScript onload by using ClientScript.RegisterStartUpScript, the control can be found (because it hasn't been assigned a clientID yet?). If I use jQuery (document).ready { } it says that the DropDownList has no selectedIndex.value. So I need some JavaScript to run AFTER the control has a value set by the DataBind. How can I accomplish this? onChanged won't work because I need the function to fire on the first page load, with no user input. DataBinding the SelectedIndex of the DropDownList doesn't cause the JavaScript onChanged event to fire.

  Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can help me understand some asynchronous javascript concepts... Say I make an asynch ajax call like so: xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange= myFoo; xmlhttp.open("GET",url,true); Here is my callback function: function myFoo() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4) { if (xmlhttp.status==200) { // Success message } else { // some error message } } } Now, where and when does the execution path start again? Once I make the call to open(), does execution continue directly below the open() and another "thread" enters the asynch function once the ajax request has been completed? Or, does the browser wait for the request to complete, make the Asynch call, and then execution continues right after the open? Thanks!

• Using PHP variables inside SQL statements?

  For some reason I can't pass a var inside a mysql statement. I have a function that can be used for multiple tables. So instead of repeating the code I want to change the table that is selected from like so, function show_all_records($table_name) { mysql_query("SELECT * FROM $table_name"); etc, etc... } And to call the function I use show_all_records("some_table") or show_all_records("some_other_table") depending on which table I want to select from at the moment. But it's not working, is this because variables can't be passed through mysql statements?

The content script handles the storage functionality (chrome.storage manipulation). Whenever, a user changes a setting in the options page, I want to send a message to the content script to store the new data. • spl_object_hash for PHP < 5.2 (unique ID for object instances)

  I'm trying to get unique IDs for object instances in PHP 5+. The function, spl_object_hash() is available from PHP 5.2 but I'm wondering if there's a workaround for older versions. There are a couple of functions in the comments on php.net but they're not working for me. • iPhone: UIImageView not showing images

  Hello, I've got UIImageView drawn in my nib-file and it's connected to a imageView iboutlet. I can load single pictures which will show up very nicely, but when it comes to drawing many images separately as like an animation, images won't show. I've got drawImage() function which takes NSData-objects(image data) and draws it to a screen(imageView). Main function has got for loop which loops 300 times as quickly as it can and each time it calls that drawImage function and passes different image data to it. Sometimes when I execute this code, last picture from that "animation" shows up, sometimes not at all. Maybe I need to schedule enough time for imageView so that the image can be shown? Hope someone has some clues. Thanks in advance!

What else could it be?

  I'm building an app with a build target of 1.5 . I have a variable, WebView browser, that is calling loadUrl to load a static HTML page from my assets folder. In that HTML page, the following JavaScript is defined: var supportsTouch = ('createTouch' in document); ... var w = $('wrapper'); w[supportsTouch ? 'touchmove' : 'onmousemove'] = move; w[supportsTouch ? 'touchend' : 'onmouseup'] = function(event){ dragging = false; }; where move is another function that handles the dragging. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work. I cannot figure out a concise list of which touch events are available to Android--is it ontouchmove, or touchmove? Am I supposed to set up an onTouchEvent call back in my Java code, which then launches the JavaScript function?
