  Hi there, I just updated an app from .net 2.0 to .net 4.0 and i have noticed the following... For example i have the following control.. <input type="hidden" name="ctl00$cphMain$hfdFueraHorarioOficinaConfirmado" id="cphMain_hfdFueraHorarioOficinaConfirmado" value="False" /> and then in javascript i did this before.. var hfdFueraHorarioOficinaConfirmado=document.getElementById('ctl00_cphMain_hfdFueraHorarioOficinaConfirmado'); but after checking the Id within the html source once it renders and also doing some debugging with firebug etc.... it has changed from ctl00_cphMain_hfdFueraHorarioOficinaConfirmado to cphMain_hfdFueraHorarioOficinaConfirmado can anyone explain why? .... so should i basically do a search and replace and remove the ctl00?????? A little confused Obviosuly the javascript line with the the ctl00_ infront return NULL because it doesn't exist, but removing this returns the object.. Any help or ideas really appreciated Thanks

• Cannot Debug Unmanaged Dll from C#

  I have a DLL that was written in C++ and called from a C# application. The DLL is unmanaged code. If I copy the DLL and its .pdb files with a post build event to the C# app's debug execution dir I still can't hit any break points I put into the DLL code. The break point has a message attached to it saying that "no symbols have been loaded for this document". What else do I have to do to get the debugging in the dll source? I have "Tools-Options-Debugging-General-Enable only my code" Disabled. The DLL is being compiled with "Runtime tracking and disable optimizations (/ASSEMBLYDEBUG)" and Generate Debug Info to "Yes (/DEBUG)"

• WPF Binding XAML vs C#

  Hello, I've got a strange problem - binding created through XAML (both ways by markup extension or normal) isn't working(BindingOperations.IsDataBound returns false and in fact there is no Binding object created). When I do literally the same from code everything is working perfectly. One more thing is that the Binding in XAML is created in a DataTemplate - what's funny about that when I use the DataTemplate for the first time it fails, then I fix it from code (add binding to specific objects) and while adding more objects to the collection the binding set in XAML just works. If I try to remove all the objects from the collection and then add a new one the binding fails once again. In reality this is a shortened version of another of my questions. • Tracking Mouse Stop

  I am trying to track mouse movements in the browser, and if a user stops their mouse for 0.5 seconds, to execute some code. I have put a breakpoint in the code below in firebug, and it breaks on the var mousestop = function(evt) line, but then jumps to the return statement. Am I missing something simple? Why isn't it executing the POST statement? I am tracking mouse clicks in a similar way, and it posts to the server just fine.   Currently I have two pages: The first page contains an input form, and the 2nd page generates an excel document. The input form's button posts to this 2nd page. What I'd like to do is add a second button which also posts to the 2nd page; however, I'll need requests created from this new button to act differently, which brings me to my question: Is there a way I can tell, from the 2nd page, which button was pressed to submit the request? The main reason I'm asking is I'd like to re-use the 2nd page's logic in parsing the information from the first page if possible; I'd rather not have to copy it to a new page and have the new button post to that. • Does XercesC contain an extensive logic of XMLSchema validation?

  Tried to implement a small XML validation tool with XercesC. For some reason I cannot use existing validators right from the box - I need some preprocessing and would like to combine it with validation in a single tool. I used DOM parser and specified DOMErrorHandler. Instead of a set of errors with detailed messages like I saw from xmllint for the same xml and xmlschema files, only one message appeared that document has a wrong structure without details. Probably, I did something wrong. But also assume XercesC doesn't contain xmllint functionality right from the box. Does anybody can give me a hint before I spent too much time? Thanks.

Should the characters be replaced for their corresponding named entities (e.g. &aacute;, etc)? Should the doc type and the xml:lang attribute be set to English? I know I can check the W3C recommendation but I am asking more from a practical point of view.

  I am currently writing a formal research report, and I'll be including JavaScript and PHP code. None of the sections of code will be more than 25 lines (so they're mere snippets). There will be approx. half a dozen snippets, each of which will have a couple of paragraphs explaining what is happening in the code and a discussion on its pros/cons. Is there an accepted way of displaying code in research reports? I'm thinking in terms of font, spacing, whether the code should be displayed inside the document or in an appendix, and related details. I have no contact with the body the report will be submitted to, and they have no published guidelines on how to format code.

• VSTS 2008 Load testing, Is it any good?

  I have already spent couple of weeks trying to use this tool to generate some webtest and load test. But every day it throws a weird problem for which I do not find anything in document. examples: Hidden variables (_lastfocus) not found in the context error. Today, all of sudden it is now refusing to run some of the webtest which are part of the test mix in my load test run (is working fine with another load test). Are enterprise level, expensive tools are only good? (like loadrunner, silkperformer etc).

• PHP/Javascript - get php variable within javascript

  I have run into an interesting problem. I am currently developing php page and need to access a php variable within the javascript onload. $(document).ready(function() { var temp = <?php $page_id ?> } is this valid? I know that this might seem weird and not be allowed but I am developing a page that has two popup windows. The windows are created using the same view template and there is no way to distinguish between each other. If I stored a hidden value on the page with information unique to the page like so <input type="hidden" value="<?php $page_id ?> id="page_id" /> if there are two views open at the same time there is no way for me to get a unique page id like so var temp = $("#page_id").val(); Because there are two views witht he same input id that is not unique. Long story short is it valid to reference a php variable in the javascript.

• jConfirm and onbeforeunload

  I have a basic function to alert the user upon refresh, browser back button (except the submit button) or when a link is clicked they will lose form data from a form wizard. <script type="text/javascript"> var okToSubmit = false; window.onbeforeunload = function() { document.getElementById('Register').onclick = function() { okToSubmit = true; }; if(!okToSubmit) return "Using the browsers back button will cause you to lose all form data. Please use the Next and Back buttons on the form"; }; </script> Im using jAlert plug in for alerts and would like to use jConfirm for the function above. When I add jConfirm after "return" it works...for a second. it pops the warning and then the page refreshes and the dialog box goes away. Does anyone know how to fix this?
