• Exchange 2010 setup /prepareAD fails to run

  I've tried installing Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 (only domain controller and all-in-one system). I did setup.exe /prepareAD, setup /prepareSchema and it worked fine the first time I did it. Unfortunately due to problem with Hub Transport installation related to (at least from what I've read) IPv6 being disabled (some say disabling it helped them while some enabling helped them). I did it the proper way by using registry entry to disable IPv6 but it still errored out. So i managed to uninstall everything (renamed some old entries in registry of failed Hub Transport roles and tried to reinstal Exchange after rebooting server. • Replace dual-XP installs with single-XP install and repartition drive?

  Hello, The Current Situation I have a hard drive that currently is split up like so: Primary Partition C: 9.77 GB NTFS Healthy (System) with XP Pro (in Polish) installed Extended Partition D: 39.82 GB NTFS Healthy (Boot) with XP Pro (in English) installed 6.30 GB Free space When I start my comuter I get a black and white Windows Boot Manager dual boot screen with 2 choices both being Microsoft Windows XP. The first choice is the English version of XP and the second choice is the Polish version of XP. Images of my Computer Management window and Dual Boot screen The Mission What I need to do is get rid of the entire extended partition (D: 39.82 GB & 6.30 free space) and just have the one primary C: drive which I assume will be somewheres around 55 GB big. So in the end I just want XP Pro in English running on my C: drive and no black and white boot screen to show up when starting up my laptop. The Question How do I go about successfully completing The Mission with out making my computer a useless pile of silicon, plastic and metal? UPDATE: So I went ahead and tried to follow Neal's suggestion but hit a wall. I got to a Windows XP Pro install screen that had the 3 following options as well as my drive data: To set up Windows XP on the selected item, press Enter To create a partition in the unpartitioned space, press C To delete the selected partition, press D 57232 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR] C: Partition1 [NTFS] 10001 MB ( 4642 MB free ) Unpartitioned space 6448 MB D: Partition2 [NTFS] 40774 MB ( 26225 MB free ) Unpartitioned space 8 MB I figured I would go with the first choice ((To set up Windows XP on the selected item, press Enter)) because I just wanted to set up Windows XP on C: Partition1 (which was preselected) so I pressed Enter which brought me to a screen displaying this message: You chose to install Windows XP on a partition that contains another operating system. Installing Windows XP on this partition might cause the other operating system to function improperly. CAUTION: Installing multiple operating systems on a single partition is not recommended. So this leads me to 2 new questions: How do I get rid of the Windows XP (Polish language) install on C: Partition 1 so that I can cleanly and safely install Windows XP (English language) on it? Neal, is this what you meant by me possibly having to delete the partition that the Windows XP (Polish language) install was located on? Since I have the option to delete partitions with the 3rd choice ((To delete the selected partition, press D)), should I do that on this screen or wait until I have Windows XP (English language) safely installed on C: Partition 1? I have to ask these questions because I have read that it is possibly dangerous to delete hard drive partitions. Just being cautious.

  I have a big problem with installing a certificat for nginx (same happends with apache though) I have 3 files __domain_com.crt __domain_com.ca-bundle and ssl.key.   I have some applications that I open from time to time, and I always get this UAC message with Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer? Is there a way I can mark a single program so that won't ask me that again? Like, I think it is good that it asks me the first time, but some programs I do launch more often, and I am ok with them making changes and don't want to be asked all the time.

• Sending and receiving a TMemoryStream using IdTCPClient and IdTCPServer

  I found Remy Lebeau's chat demo of IdTCP components in XE2 and I wanted to play with it a little bit. (It can be found here) I would like to send a picture using these components and the best approach seems to be using TMemoryStream. If I send strings, the connection works fine, the strings are transmitted successfully, however when I change it to Stream instead, it doesn't work. However, when closing the programs(after sending the MemoryStream), two things happen: If the Client is closed first, only then does the except part get processed (the log displays the 'Failed to receive' error. However, even if I place a breakpoint on the first line of the try-except block, it somehow gets skipped and only the error is displayed). If the Server is closed first, the IDE doesn't change back from debug, Client doesn't change its state to disconnected (as it normally does when server disconnects) and after the Client is closed as well, an Access Violation error from the Server app appears. I guess this means that there is a thread of the Server still running and maintaining the connection. But no matter how much time i give it, it never completes the task of receiving the MemoryStream. Note: The server uses IdSchedulerOfThreadDefault and IdAntiFreeze, if that matters. As I can't find any reliable source of help for the revamped Indy 10 (it all appears to apply for the older Indy 10, or even Indy 9), I hope you can tell me what is wrong.   Hi, I have tried to deploy windows 7 through SCCM, I have it all setup. On the first deployment the PC boots into PXE gets an IP then loads the WinPE. It then shows a starting windows box. The box then disappears and after a few seconds the computer restarts. Any Ideas? Which logs should I be checking I have also tried to inject the drivers for that PCs network adapter but this didnt work.

  I noticed this while running a performance test with JMeter. For first half an hour everything was fine and the /server/all/tmp directory size was around 36M. Then suddenly the tmp directory grew up to 6.1G. The space was taken by jar files inside vfs-nested.tmp. I found https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBAS-7126 but adding that config but it made no difference.

We are trying to add a Standard 2008 R2 64 bit domain controller to the forest but for some reason during DCPROMO, we receive the following error: "to install a domain controller into this active directory forest,you must first prepare the forest using "adprep/forestprep" etc We went ahead an ran adprep /forestprep on our established domain controller and allowed time to replicate. When attempting to execute dcpromo again, we receive the same error. What gives?

  Hi, so I have this requirement to kick off Activities provided to me at run-time. To facilitate this, I have set up a WorkflowService that receives Activities as Xaml, hydrates them, and kicks them off. First question: 1) given an arbitrary task, provided at runtime [as described above] is it possible to kick off this Activity using Activities that ship with WF4RC, out of the box? The problematic activity named 'DynamicActivity' was provided by the activity named 'InvokeActivity'. Right, so the "dynamic" Activity provided at runtime is not a member of InvokeActivitys metadata. Googled and came across this. Couldn't sort out how to specify an InArgument<Activity> to metadata cache, so my second question is, naturally, how does one address this issue? Is it ill advised to use context.ScheduleActivity (...) in this manner? • Can't seem to install imagick

  I'm trying to install the PHP PEAR PECL extension "imagick" (image magick), but failing horribly. It seems that I keed installing packages to progress, but this one has me stumped. • Faulting DLL (ISAPI Filter)...

  I wrote this ISAPI filter to rewrite the URL because we had some sites that moved locations... Basically the filter looks at the referrer, and if it's the local server, it looks at the requested URL and compared it to the full referrer. If the first path is identical, nothing is done, however if not, it takes the first path from the full referrer and prepends it to the URL. For example: /Content/imgs/img.jpg from a referrer of http://myserver/wr/apps/default.htm would be rewritten as /wr/Content/imgs/img.jpg. When I view the log file, everything looks good. • Remote EJB lookup issue with WebSphere 6.1

  I've seen this question asked before, but I've tried various solutions proposed, to no avail. Essentially, I have two EJB enterprise applications, that need to communicate with one another. The first is a web application, the second is a search server - they are located on different development servers, not in the same node, cell, or JVM, although they are on the same physical box. I'm doing the JNDI lookup via IIOP, and the URL I am using is as follows: iiop://searchserver:2819 In my hosts file, I've set searchserver to 127.0.0.1. The ports for my search server are bound to this hostname too. However, when the web app (that uses Spring btw) attempts to lookup the search EJB, it fails with the following error. This is driving me nuts, surely this kind of comms between the servers should be fairly simple to get working. I've checked the ports and they are correct.   Hi, linux newbie here. I'm running Fedora 12 and I have a script for Ubuntu installing a bunch of packages using aptitude. I tried installing the packages using yum, but most of them aren't available. The packages aren't very new or complicated stuff, is there any way get packages through aptitude on fedora? Or am I just going to have to find the Fedora equivalent of each package manually, for example the first package installed is g++ and of course this has a fedora equivalent.

• Firefox 3.5.6 causes entire computer to freeze

  Here's the situation: Environment: Just installed a fresh copy of Win7 Pro 32-bit to NTFS partition on 750GB SATA drive Hardware: E8400 3GHz ASUS P5QL Pro 4GB DDR2 1066 RAM EVGA 9800 GTX+ Plenty of cooling, no problems with hardware before Data is stored on a separate partition, including My Documents No security software is yet installed No extensions installed yet Problem: While using Firefox, sometimes the entire computer will freeze/hang. I get no mouse or keyboard input, can't CTRL+ALT+DEL, no "not responding" indication, just a static image on my display. My drivers are all up to date as far as I'm aware (I just installed this copy of Windows last week). I first noticed this when trying to install Xmarks. I went to the Xmarks site and tried to install and it would freeze. I managed to get it installed (Safe mode and the Mozilla addon site worked), but when I go to configure it (log in, etc), the computer freezes. I don't think it's a matter of usage time or memory issues, because while testing, I browsed wallpaper galleries for about 30 minutes, sometimes as many as 12-15 tabs open at a time, without issue. Sometimes I won't even try to install Xmarks at it will hang. I can install (some) other extensions, the only one I've tried is download status bar (which works). What I've done to try to fix: Restarted (duh) Windows safe mode Completely remove Firefox and install it to a new directory, according to Mozilla's KB (I haven't tried the profile manager, though I assume this does the same thing, except perhaps more thoroughly) Some BIOS changes, including Power options, disabling oveclocking (it was a modest overclock on the CPU, which has run Win7 beta and RC for almost a year now) Memtest Used another Windows user profile, same tragic results I'm STUCK now, with no idea what to do. I'm using Chrome as my main browser at the moment, but that's not something I want to be stuck with. I like Firefox and want to use it. I'm going to try creating a new profile first. One thing I did notice: I started leaving task manager and performance monitor open when anticipating (but dreading) a freeze. firefox.exe had low CPU and low memory, but it looked like overall disk usage was seeing some spikes on the small graph Performance Monitor gives you. I saw on one blog post a fellow using XP moved his Local Settings directory from a separate drive to his main drive, and that solved it, but I don't think my AppData directory is on my D: drive, and that's on the same physical device anyways.
