    Hi all! have problems with mouseover in Mozilla and Chrome after making it work in IE, for sure I can tell you that my code woked perfectly in Chrome at least, cause thats my default browser and I used it for debuging when creating the javascipt and it worked nicely... until I tried to make it work in IE too.     Anyone ever implements something in UITextView that stopping it from receiving future inputs when the text length is smaller than certain threshold? I plan to implement a textview like we have in the mail composer interface. We have a placeholder "Subject" there, and the cursor starts after. Placeholder in UITextView Inspired from this question, I wonder if there are some methods which could be used to stop changing the text in the UITextView once the cursor is moving back to the placeholder string. Any ideas?

    I am relatively new to programming (around 1 year programming C#-winforms). Also, I come from a non CS background (no formal degree) Recently, while being interviewed for a job, I was asked about implementing a queue using a stack. I fumbled and wan't able to answer the question. After, the interview I could do it(had to spend some time). I have learnt (and think that I know it well) basic algorithms in datastructures using the book Data Structures: A Pseudocode Approach with C - Richard F. Gilberg (Author) . I want to know about sites/ books which have such questions along with answers. I think this will allow me to develop my CS specific problem solving skills. Any help is appreciated.     We have a drop-down menu of volumes in our UI, and I'd like to update it when a new disk is mounted. In the Classic days, this would involve watching for a diskEvt event. In Carbon, I think this was kEventClassVolume. What's the Cocoa equivalent? (A pointer into Apple's documentation on this would satisfy the question. I've been unable to find anything!)

  • Google Maps API 3 How to call initialize without putting it in Body onload

    Hi I am using the google maps API and have copied the examples and have ended up with a function called "initialize" that is called from the body onload. I am using the maps in a few different user controls, which are placed within content place holders, so the body tag is in the master page. Is there a way of calling initialize directly in the usercontrol rather than having to place an onload on the masterpage? Ideally I want my user control to be a stand alone control that I can just slot into pages without trying to access the master page body onload. I have tried calling the Initialize function from my page load of the user control (by adding a start up script), but the map doesn't appear. Any suggestions? Therefore I'd like that type of data to be in memory only and accessible to the whole app My questions: How do I use a global object in memory with GF? a. use a static variable object - for that I guess I need to make sure GF is running on only 1 JVM -- how to I configure GF to run on 1 jvm? b. use HttpContext - same as a. Why is it not? :( In fact, I want to combine 2 parts of the same array to make a complex array: Data[:,:,:,0] , Data[:,:,:,1] These don't work: x = np.complex(Data[:,:,:,0], Data[:,:,:,1]) x = complex(Data[:,:,:,0], Data[:,:,:,1]) Am I missing something? My problem is to really understand that. Although the idea of this policy is clear to me, I'm a bit confused by the fact that another XmlHttpRequest for a Yahoo Weather XML Feed works fine. Now, could anyone be so helpful to enlighten me?   • IconDownloader, problem with lazy downloading

    My problem is simple to be described but it seems to be hard to solve. The problem is loading icons, with a custom class like IconDownloader.m provided by an official example from Apple, avoiding crashes if I release the view. I've added the IconDownloader class to my app, but it's clear that this approach is good only if the tableview is the root. The big problem is when the view is not the root one. F.e: if I start to scroll my second view (the app now load the icons) and, without leaving it the time to finish the download, I go back to root, the app crash because the view that have to be updated with new icons doesn't exist anymore. One possible solution could be implement an OperationQueue in the view, but with this approach I've to stop the queue when I change the view and restart it when I come back and the idea to have N queues don't make me enthusiastic. Anyone found a good solution for this problem?
