• Drupal, template.php where do the $form names come from ?

  hi, I want to customize my Drupal back-end forms. I'm using template.php file.. i.e. $form['menu']['#collapsed'] = true; $form['author']['#collapsed'] = true; $form['buttons']['#weight'] = 100; But I was wondering from where the section names (menu, author, buttons), come from. (They are not id or classes in html code, so I guess there is an index with all names stored somewhere. Where can I get the complete list of section names ? Furthermore, I've added a taxonomy-super-select-checkboxes section by installing the module. How can I refer to this section, to make the field not collapsed. thanks

  I've found that on Google support driving navigation on latest Android. http://www.google.com/mobile/navigation/index.html But, I can't find any kinds of API set to provide those kinds of functions. Is there navigation support API? or isn't it released yet? I can't understand why it's not included on Ginger bread version. They said that Nexus S already support Driving navigation.   I know it's not what toastr (or toast notifs in general) are meant to be used for, but I want to use them as a modal notification. My idea is following. • Most efficient way to maintain a 'set' in SQL Server?

  I have ~2 million rows or so of data, each row with an artificial PK, and two Id fields (so: PK, ID1, ID2). I have a unique constraint (and index) on ID1+ID2. I get two sorts of updates, both with a distinct ID1 per update. 100-1000 rows of all-new data (ID1 is new) 100-1000 rows of largely, but not necessarily completely overlapping data (ID1 already exists, maybe new ID1+ID2 pairs) What's the most efficient way to maintain this 'set'? Here are the options as I see them: Delete all the rows with ID1, insert all the new rows (yikes) Query all the existing rows from the set of new data ID1+ID2, only insert the new rows Insert all the new rows, ignore inserts that trigger unique constraint violations Any thoughts?

• Allow users to enter a variable length list of items in asp.net form

  I need to let my users enter a variable length list of items into something that looks like a grid view (or a series of standard text boxes stacked vertically). Each item could be a few characters or a few hundred characters long, and I just want them to enter a "sentence", and then tab to the next row, and always having another blank one ready to go at the bottom of the list. I don't want to save any data to my SQL Server DB until they enter the entire list and then click on a "save all" button. When they hit the "save all" button they will be given a preview screen where the data will be presented as standard HTML ordered list. If they confirm/save, then each row of the grid will then be saved as a separate row into my SQL Server database (with an index to remember the order). What ASP.Net (or Jquery/javascript) UI control would be the best to use in this situation?

  I'm using act_as_taggable_on and Active Admin on a Rails project. In that project there are Posts and each Post has Tags. I want to show a list of Tags in Active Admin and the number of ocurrences of each one. The way I found to do this was: index do column :name column :ocurrences do |tag| ocurrences = Post.tag_counts.find(tag.id).count end default_actions end Which will search the Tag List every time for every Post, which performance wise looks really bad. I would also like to be able to sort the tags by ocurrence. Any idea of how I can do it?

  I have a table (3x3) that counts "< /form" as space in IE. The code for 1 td looks like: <style type="text/css"> table { border-width: 0px; border-collapse: collapse; padding: 0px; } td, th { padding: 0px; } </style> <table><tr><td><form name="form" action="index.php" method="post"><input type="hidden" name="from" value="a" /><input type="image" src="pic1.gif" alt="1" name="submit" value="submit" /></form></td> There is no spaces anywhere outside the tags. Inside the td, there is a form, with a hidden field and a picture. Firefox shows only the picture, but IE has spaces between the rows. I did a little debugging, and found it was from the /form. Does anyone know a fix to this?

• IE7 Negative value cuts off half the element - bug?

  I've relatively positioned one of the elements with negative 'top' and 'left' values, the negative 'left' value actually takes the element outside of the 'body' width, this seems fine in all browsers apart from IE7 where it just cuts it off. establi.sh I thought it might be that weird bug where if it's outside the parent container then you have to set a z-index but that didn't work, then I thought it might be the hasLayout bug but trying to fix that didn't work. I'm not an expert on IE browsers so need some help. I'm thinking IE7 might be choking as the negative left value actually takes it outside the body? Thanks

  I am using rails beta 3 and I have a erb page named index.html.erb for discussions controller. In that page, I have a link as following: <%= link_to 'Delete', {:action='destroy', :id=@discussion}, :confirm="Are you sure", :method='post' % Which is supposed to generate a link to delete a discussion, however, the generated html is Delete which always routes to the show action. I think the href should be /discussions/destroy/1. But for some reason it is not. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  I have a tree structure in an sql table like so: CREATE TABLE containers ( container_id serial NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, parent integer REFERENCES containers (container_id)) Now i want to define an ordering between nodes with the same parent. I Have thought of adding a node_index column, to ORDER BY, but that seem suboptimal, since that involves modifying the index of a lot of nodes when modifying the stucture. That could include adding, removing, reordering or moving nodes from some subtree to another. Is there a sql datatype for an ordered sequence, or an efficient way to emulate one? Doesn't need to be fully standard sql, I just need a solution for mssql and hopefully postgresql EDIT To make it clear, the ordering is arbitrary. Actually, the user will be able to drag'n'drop tree nodes in the GUI

• SQL version control methodology

  There are several questions on SO about version control for SQL and lots of resources on the web, but I can't find something that quite covers what I'm trying to do. First off, I'm talking about a methodology here. I'm familiar with the various source control applications out there and I'm familiar with tools like Red Gate's SQL Compare, etc. and I know how to write an application to check things in and out of my source control system automatically. If there is a tool which would be particularly helpful in providing a whole new methodology or which have a useful and uncommon functionality then great, but for the tasks mentioned above I'm already set. The requirements that I'm trying to meet are: The database schema and look-up table data are versioned DML scripts for data fixes to larger tables are versioned A server can be promoted from version N to version N + X where X may not always be 1 Code isn't duplicated within the version control system - for example, if I add a column to a table I don't want to have to make sure that the change is in both a create script and an alter script The system needs to support multiple clients who are at various versions for the application (trying to get them all up to within 1 or 2 releases, but not there yet) Some organizations keep incremental change scripts in their version control and to get from version N to N + 3 you would have to run scripts for N-N+1 then N+1-N+2 then N+2-N+3. Some of these scripts can be repetitive (for example, a column is added but then later it is altered to change the data type). We're trying to avoid that repetitiveness since some of the client DBs can be very large, so these changes might take longer than necessary. Some organizations will simply keep a full database build script at each version level then use a tool like SQL Compare to bring a database up to one of those versions. The problem here is that intermixing DML scripts can be a problem. Imagine a scenario where I add a column, use a DML script to fill said column, then in a later version that column name is changed. Perhaps there is some hybrid solution? Maybe I'm just asking for too much? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated though. Here's what I need: Everey minute the function shall check if it can load a certain page. if the connection succeeds, I want the page to be refreshed, if not, nothing shall happen, the script shall retry later.
