  I am currently writing a small texteditor. With this texteditor users are able to create small scripts for a very simple scripting engine. For a better overview I want to highlight codeblocks with the same command like GoTo(x,y) or Draw(x,y). To achieve this I want to use Regular Expresions (I am already using it to highlight other things like variables) Here is my Expression (I know it's very ugly): /(?<!GoTo|Draw|Example)(^(?:GoTo|Draw|Example)\(.+\)*?$)+(?!GoTo|Draw|Example)/gm It matches the following: lala GoTo(5656) -> MATCH 1 sdsd GoTo(sdsd) --comment -> MATCH 2 GoTo(23329); -> MATCH 3 Test() GoTo(12) -> MATCH 4 LALA Draw(23) -> MATCH 5 Draw(24) -> MATCH 6 Draw(25) -> MATCH 7 But what I want to achieve is, that the complete "blocks" of the same command are matched. In this case Match 2 & 4 and Match 5 & 6 & 7 should be one match. Tested with http://regex101.com/, the programming lanuage is vb.net. Any advise would be very useful, Thanks in advance!

  I seem to be having a problem with retrieving XML values with C#, which I know it is due to my very limited knowledge of C# and .XML. I was given the following XML file <PowerBuilderRunTimes> <PowerBuilderRunTime> <Version>12</Version> <Files> <File>EasySoap110.dll</File> <File>exPat110.dll</File> <File>pbacc110.dll</File> </File> </PowerBuilderRunTime> </PowerBuilderRunTimes> I am to process the XML file and make sure that each of the files in the exist in the folder (that's the easy part). It's the processing of the XML file that I have having a hard time with. Here is what I have done thus far: var runtimeXml = File.ReadAllText(string.Format("{0}\\{1}", configPath, Resource.PBRuntimes)); var doc = XDocument.Parse(runtimeXml); var topElement = doc.Element("PowerBuilderRunTimes"); var elements = topElement.Elements("PowerBuilderRunTime"); foreach (XElement section in elements) { //pbVersion is grabbed earlier. • Diff/Merge functionality for objects (not files!)

  I have a collection of objects of the same type, let's call it DataItem. The user can view and edit these items in an editor. It should also be possible to compare and merge different items, i.e. some sort of diff/merge for DataItem instances. The DIFF functionality should compare all (relevant) properties/fields of the items and detect possible differences. The MERGE functionality should then be able to merge two instances by applying selected differences to one of the items. For example (pseudo objects): DataItem1 { DataItem2 { Prop1 = 10 Prop1 = 10 Prop2 = 25 Prop2 = 13 Prop3 = 0 Prop3 = 5 Coll = { 7, 4, 8 } Coll = { 7, 4, 8, 12 } } } Now, the user should be provided with a list of differences (i.e. Prop2, Prop3, and Coll) and he should be able to select which differences he wants to eliminate by assigning the value from one item to the other. He should also be able to choose if he wants to assign the value from DataItem1 to DataItem2 or vice versa. Are there common practices which should be used to implement this functionality? Since the same editor should also provide undo/redo functionality (using the Command pattern), I was thinking about reusing the ICommand implementations because both scenarios basically handle with property assignments, collection changes, and so on... My idea was to create Difference objects with ICommand properties which can be used to perform a merge operation for this specific Difference. Btw: The programming language will be C# with .NET 3.5SP1/4.0. However, I think this is more of a language-independent question. Any design pattern/idea/whatsoever is welcome!

• Debugging Post Request with Chrome Dev Tools

  I am trying to use Chrome Dev for debugging the following Angular post request : $http.post("http://picjboss.puma.lan:8880/fluxpousse/api/flow/createOrUpdateHeader", flowHeader) After running the statement with right-click / evaluate, I can see the post in the network panel with a pending state. How can I get the result or "commit" the request and leave easily this "pending" state from the dev console ? I am not yet very familiar with JS callbacks, some code is expected. Thanks.   Alright so Say I have a class with all its definition, bla bla bla... template <class DT> class Foo{ private: DT* _data; //other stuff; public: Foo(DT* data){ _data = data } virtual ~Foo(){ delete _data } //other methods }; And then I have in the main method: int main(){ int number = 12; Foo<anyRandomClass>* noPrimitiveDataObject = new Foo<anyRandomClass>(new anyRandomClass()); Foo<int>* intObject = new Foo<int>(number); delete noPrimitiveDataObject; //Everything goes just fine. delete intObject; //It messes up here, I think because primitive data types such as int are allocated in a different way. return 0; } My question is: What could I do to have both delete statements in the main method work just fine? P.S.: Although I have not actually compiled/tested this specific code, I have reviewed it extensively (as well as indented. You're welcome.), so if you find a mistake, please be nice. Thank you.

  I am trying to do a simple hw problem involving namespace, static data members and functions. • Calculating a consecutive streak in data

  I’m trying to calculate the maximum winning and losing streak in a dataset (i.e. the highest number of consecutive positive or negative values). I’ve found a somewhat related question here on StackOverflow and even though that gave me some good suggestions, the angle of that question is different, and I’m not (yet) experienced enough to translate and apply that information to this problem. So I was hoping you could help me out, even an suggestion would be great. My data set look like this: > subRes Instrument TradeResult.Currency. 1 JPM -3 2 JPM 264 3 JPM 284 4 JPM 69 5 JPM 283 6 JPM -219 7 JPM -91 8 JPM 165 9 JPM -35 10 JPM -294 11 KFT -8 12 KFT -48 13 KFT 125 14 KFT -150 15 KFT -206 16 KFT 107 17 KFT 107 18 KFT 56 19 KFT -26 20 KFT 189 > split(subRes[,2],subRes[,1]) $JPM [1] -3 264 284 69 283 -219 -91 165 -35 -294 $KFT [1] -8 -48 125 -150 -206 107 107 56 -26 189 In this case, the maximum (winning) streak for JPM is four (namely the 264, 284, 69 and 283 consecutive positive results) and for KFT this value is 3 (107, 107, 56). My goal is to create a function which gives the maximum winning streaks per instrument (i.e. JPM: 4, KFT: 3). To achieve that: R needs to compare the current result with the previous result, and if it is higher then there is a streak of at least 2 consecutive positive results. Then R needs to look at the next value, and if this is also higher: add 1 to the already found value of 2. If this value isn’t higher, R needs to move on to the next value, while remembering 2 as the intermediate maximum. I’ve tried cumsum and cummax in accordance with conditional summing (like cumsum(c(TRUE, diff(subRes[,2]) > 0))), which didn’t work out. Also rle in accordance with lapply (like lapply(rle(subRes$TradeResult.Currency.), function(x) diff(x) > 0)) didn’t work. How can I make this work?

When a lot of packets are received at once, even when only one client is connected, one of them might get cut off at the end (12 bytes instead of 15 bytes, for example) which is obviously bad.

• PDFBox: Problem with converting pdf page into image

  My mission is pretty simple: converting every single page of a pdf file into images. I tried using icepdf open source version to generate the images but they don't generate the image with the correct font. So I start using PDFBox instead. The code is the following: PDDocument document = PDDocument.load(new File("testing.pdf")); List<PDPage> pages = document.getDocumentCatalog().getAllPages(); for (int i = 0; i < pages.size(); i++) { PDPage singlePage = pages.get(i); BufferedImage buffImage = convertToImage(singlePage, 8, 12); ImageIO.write(buffImage, "png", new File(PdfUtil.DATA_OUTPUT_DIR+(count++)+".png")); } The font looks good, but the pictures within the pdf file look fainted out (See the attachment). I look into the source code but I still have no clue how to fix it. Do you guys have any idea what's going on? Please help. Thanks!!

Most of the formats in the variable are shown above- there are a couple of very rare others too. The reason why there are multiple formats is that the data were pulled together from various websites that each used different formats. I have tried using straightforward conversions e.g. strftime(mydf$date,"%d/%m/%Y") but these sorts of conversion will not work if there are multiple formats. I don't want to resort to multiple gsub type editing. I was wondering if I am missing a more simple solution? • Implementing a scrabble trainer (cheater)

  Hello, I've recently been playing alot of online scrabble so I decided to make a program that quickly searches through a dictionary of 200,000+ words with an input of up to any 26 letters. My first attempt was fail as it took a while when you input 8 or more letters (just a basic look through dictionary and cancel out a letter if its found kind of thing), so I made a tree like structure containing only an array of 26 of the same structure and a flag to indicate the end of a word, doing that It can output all possible words in under a second even with an input of 26 characters. But it seems that when I input 12 or more letters with some of the same characters repeated i get duplicates; can anyone see why I would be getting duplicates with this code? (ill post my program at the bottom) Also, the next step once the duplicates are weeded out is to actually be able to input the letters on the game board and then have it calculate the best word you can make on a given board. I am having trouble trying to figure out a good algorithm that can analyze a scrabble board and an input of letters and output a result; the possible words that could be made I have no problem with but actually checking a board efficiently (ie can this word fit here, or here etc... without creating a non dictionary word in the process on some other string of letters) Anyone have a idea for an approach at that? (given a scrabble board, and an input of 7 letters, find all possible valid words or word sets that you can make) lol crap i forgot to email myself the code from my other computer thats in another state... ill post it on monday when I get back there! btw the dictionary im using is sowpods (http://www.calvin.edu/~rpruim/scrabble/ospd3.txt)

• How do i set the proxy and SOCKs in libcurl?

  I am trying to configure my .NET app to use a proxy. My source is in C# but i learned CURL via C++. My question is where do i put the SOCKs IP and port? i looked through the documentation and didnt see it. I believe that is what is causing me these problems. When i run this code it will quiet literally timeout and not call my header function or writer function. If i comment out the first two curlopt lines (the two proxy lines) my code runs with no problems. In firefox i set the http proxy and SOCKs host separately, they are different IPs and ports.
