• How do i make an AJAX block crawlable?

  I have a block with a few tabs. When the user clicks the tab the content of that block get loaded. Now I would like to make it crawlable by the search engines and at the same time I want to maintain the good user-experience. I figured out a couple of alternative but each one has its own shortcomings. The approached that i could come up with. Use hashbangs and then use this. But hashbangs are not good and things of past now. Secondly it will make my content crawlable by only googlebot as yahoo and bing dont support this. Use GET PARAMETERIZED fallback incase when javascript doesn't work. This will work for all bots and also would be nice as it would work without javascript. But then this will create duplicates of my page as this block is only a very small section of my page and i have like around 5-6 tabs. So it means that many duplicates! Doing this without AJAX is not an option as it would only increase the page load time as all these blocks have heavy media content in them!

• Internet speed is suddenly slow only on my laptop, but it's normal in other devices

  I have a TP-Link router connected to a ZTE modem, with 2 laptops, a tablet, 2 phones connected via the router's WiFi, and an additional desktop connected via ethernet to the router. Today, my laptop started to have a very slow connection to the internet, which at first I thought it was the operator's problem to find out later on that it works fine on other devices. I tried to connect directly via WiFi to the modem, but it was as slow. I cannot access facebook at all, google takes forever to do a search, and youtube barely works. The weird thing though, is that when youtube does work, the streaming is full speed. This happens also when I download a file! My browse is Firefox, but I used Chrome and IE9 with the same results. I work on Windows 7 Thanks for any advices.

With some Google Search with LAMP installation, they listed with yum install httpd I had check inside /etc/init.d/ already had httpd I try to run yum install httpd http-devel It shows not yet installed. What will happen if I install yum version? What should I do? What is the best practise? Should I remove the Web Server install by default with CentOS? My goal is install LAMP (PHP v5.2.17).

I know we can run a custom scan for the particular drive or specific folder but that process is too lengthy and time consuming. This guide explain that how we can add the Windows Defender in the desktop right click menu, so I'm curious is there a way to add it in the Windows explorer right click menu to launch a search whenever I need to.

What I want to be able to do is count the quantity how many unique "items" there are in this array: 1 -- 2 2 -- 3 3 -- 3 4 .. 3 And so forth. I want the table to look like this: Also, is there a way to accomplish this if I don't know all of the values of the array to begin with? I'm looking for a way to have excel search an array, find a unique value, count how many times that value is in the array, and then move onto the next values.

• Did Firefox running in OSX get hacked

  When I try to do a google search in Firefox, I can't click on any of the links. They're just regular black text, not hyperlinks. I even tried safe mode and disabling all the plugins. I was running Firefox 12. I installed the current version over it and it's the same thing. Other browsers have not been affected. This is what it looks like. Edit: My firewall was turned off and I had several things running which are potential security holes. I turned on my firewall and closed all unnecessary ports. I also turned off Home Sharing. Then I restarted my computer. After that, Firefox works normally again. What do you think happened?

• Beep code for Dell Poweredge T105

  I can't start my Poweredge T-105 just after two years. It does not display any on monitor but blue lights on 3 & 4 of system case. And it repeatedly beeps. At first, it beeps 1-3-3 and then repeats 1-1-3-4. As far as I can search on the net, Dell's beep code is 3 digit. So do I have to consider the beep code for my error is 1-3-3? Unfortunately, my warranty expired last year so any hint will be appreciated.

• VSNewFile: A Visual Studio Addin to More Easily Add New Items to a Project

  My first Visual Studio Add-in! Creating add-ins is pretty simple, once you get used to the CommandBar model it is using, which is apparently a general Office suite extensibility mechanism. Anyway, let me first explain my motivation for this. It started out as an academic exercise, as I have always wanted to dip my feet in a little VS extensibility. But I thought of a legitimate need for an add-in, at least in my personal experience, so it took on new life. But I figured I can’t be the only one who has felt this way, so I decided to publish the add-in, and host it on GitHub (VSNewFile on GitHub) hoping to spur contributions. Adding Files the Built-in Way Here’s the problem I wanted to solve. You’re working on a project, and it’s time to add a new file to the project. Whatever it is – a class, script, html page, aspx page, or what-have-you, you go through a menu or keyboard shortcut to get to the “Add New Item” dialog. Typically, you do it by right-clicking the location where you want the file (the project or a folder of it): This brings up a dialog the contains, well, every conceivable type of item you might want to add. It’s all the available item templates, which can result in anywhere from a ton to a veritable sea of choices. To be fair, this dialog has been revamped in Visual Studio 2010, which organizes it a little better than Visual Studio 2008, and adds a search box. It also loads noticeably faster.   To me, this dialog is just getting in my way. If I want to add a JavaScript script to my project, I don’t want to have to hunt for the script template item in this dialog. Yes, it is categorized, and yes, it now has a search box. But still, all this UI to swim through when all I need is a new file in the project. I will name it. I will provide the content, I don’t even need a ‘template’. VS kind of realizes this. In the add menu in a class library project, for example, there is a “Add Class…” choice. But all this really does is select that project item from the dialog by default. You still must wait for the dialog, see it, and type in a name for the file. How is that really any different than hitting F2 on an existing item? It isn’t. Adding Files the Hack Way What I often find myself doing, just to avoid going through this dialog, is to copy and paste an existing file, rename it, then “CTRL-A, DEL” the content. In a few short keystrokes I’ve got my new file. Even if the original file wasn’t the right type, it doesn’t matter – I will rename it anyway, including the extension. It works well enough if the place I am adding the file to doesn’t have much in it already. But if there are a lot of files at that level, it sucks, because the new file will have the name “Copy of xyz”, causing it to be moved into the ‘C’ section of the alphabetically sorted items, which might be far, far away from the original file (and so I tend to try and copy a file that starts with ‘C’ *evil grin*). Using ‘Export Template’ To be completely fair I should at least mention this feature. I’m not even sure if this is new in VS 2010 or not (I think so). But it allows you to export a project item or items, including potential project references required by it. Then it becomes a new item in the available ‘installed templates’. No doubt this is useful to help bootstrap new projects. But that still requires you to go through the ‘New Item’ dialog. Adding Files with VSNewFile So hopefully I have sufficiently defined the problem and got a few of you to think, “Yeah, me too!”… What VSNewFile does is let you skip the dialog entirely by adding project items directly to the context menu. But it does a bit more than that, so do read on. For example, to add a new class, you can right-click the location and pick that option. A new .cs file is instantly added to the project, and the new item is selected and put into the ‘rename’ mode immediately. The default items available are shown here. But you can customize them. You can also customize the content of each template. To do so, you create a directory in your documents folder, ‘VSNewFile Templates’. In there, you drop the templates you want to use, but you name them in a particular way. For example, here’s a template that will add a new item named “Add TITLE”. It will add a project item named “SOMEFILE.foo” (or ‘SOMEFILE1.foo’ if that exists, etc). The format of the file name is: <ORDER>_<KEY>_<BASE FILENAME>_<ICON ID>_<TITLE>.<EXTENTION> Where: <ORDER> is a number that lets you determine the order of the items in the menu (relative to each other). <KEY> is a case sensitive identifier different for each template item. More on that later. <BASE FILENAME> is the default name of the file, which doesn’t matter that much, since they will be renaming it anyway. <ICON ID> is a number the dictates the icon used for the menu item. There are a huge number of built-in choices. More on that later. <TITLE> is the string that will appear in the menu. And, the contents of the file are the default content for the item (the ‘template’). The content of the file can contain anything you want, of course. But it also supports two tokens: %NAMESPACE% and %FILENAME%, which will be replaced with the corresponding values. Here is the content of this sample: testing Namespace = %NAMESPACE% Filename = %FILENAME% I kind went back and forth on this. I could have made it so there’d be an XML or JSON file that defines the templates, instead of cramming all this data into the filename itself. I like the simplicity of this better. It makes it easy to customize since you can literally just throw these files around, copy them from someone else, etc, without worrying about merge data into a central description file, in whatever format. Here’s our new item showing up: Practical Use One immediate thing I am using this for is to make it easier to add very commonly used scripts to my web projects. For example, uh, say, jQuery? :) All I need to do is drop jQuery-1.4.2.js and jQuery-1.4.2.min.js into the templates folder, provide the order, title, etc, and then instantly, I can now add jQuery to any project I have without even thinking about “where is jQuery? Can I copy it from that other project?”   Using the KEY There are two reasons for the ‘key’ portion of the item. First, it allows you to turn off the built-in, default templates, which are: FILE = Add File (generic, empty file) VB = Add VB Class CS = Add C# Class (includes some basic usings) HTML = Add HTML page (includes basic structure, doctype, etc) JS = Add Script (includes an immediately-invoking function closure) To turn one off, just include a file with the name “_<KEY>”. For example, to turn off all the items except our custom one, you do this: The other reason for the key is that there are new Visual Studio Commands created for each one. This makes it possible to bind a keyboard shortcut to one of them. So you could, for example, have a keyboard combination that adds a new web page to your website, or a new CS class to your class library, etc. Here is our sample item showing up in the keyboard bindings option. Even though the contents of the template directory may change from one launch of Visual Studio to the next, the bindings will remain attached to any item with a particular key, thanks to it taking care not to lose keyboard bindings even though the commands are completely recreated each time. The Icon Face ID Visual Studio uses a Microsoft Office style add-in mechanism, I gather. There are a predetermined set of built-in icons available. You can use your own icons when developing add-ins, of course, but I’m no designer. I just wanted to find appropriate-ish icons for the built-in templates, and allow you to choose from an existing built-in icon for your own. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot out there on the interwebs that helps you figure out what the built-in types are. There’s an MSDN article that describes at length a way to create a program that lists all the icons. But I don’t want to write a program to figure them out! Just show them to me! Sheesh :) Thankfully, someone out there felt the same way, and uses a novel hack to get the icons to show up in an outlook toolbar. He then painstakingly took screenshots of them, one group at a time. It isn’t complete though – there are tens of thousands of icons. But it’s good enough. If anyone has an exhaustive list, please let me, and the rest of the add-in community know. Icon Face ID Reference Installing the Add-in It will work with Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010. Just unzip the release into your Documents\Visual Studio 20xx\Addins folder. It contains the binary and the Visual Studio “.addin” file. For example, the path to mine is: C:\Users\InfinitiesLoop\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Addins Conclusion So that’s it! I hope you find it as useful as I have.   In my Translator by Moth app, in the textbox where the user enters a translation I show a "prompt" for the user that goes away when they tap on it to enter text (and returns if the textbox remains/becomes empty). Back in June 2006 I had shown how to achieve this for Windows Vista (TextBox prompt), and a month later implemented a pure managed version for both desktop and Windows Mobile: TextBox with Cue Banner. So when I encountered the same need for my WP7 app, the path of least resistance for me was to convert my existing code to work for the phone. Usage: Instead of TextBox, in your xaml use TextBoxWithPrompt. Set the TextPrompt property to the text that you want the user to be prompted with. Use the MyText property to get/set the actual entered text (never use the Text property). Optionally, via properties change the default centered alignment and italic font, for the prompt text. It is that simple! You can grab my class here: TextBoxWithPrompt.cs Note, that there are many alternative (probably better) xaml-based solutions, so search around for those. • Sleep/Suspend and WOL on FreeNAS

  I am trying to figure out how to get FreeNAS 8 to sleep when inactive and, ideally, wake on lan activity (or, less ideally, wake on a WOL magic packet). However, as I've tried to search for information on how to do this, almost all discussions seem to be centered on FreeNAS 7. Also, the tools included in FreeBSD to do this seem to be missing (i.e. acpiconf, etc.). Is there a way to get FreeNAS 8 to sleep and wake so that I don't have to leave the server running all the time? Given its usage level, it seems a waste to have the server running constantly.

• Thinking Sphinx index rebuild error on windows xp: searchd is already running

  I have Sphinx installed on windows xp system. A I use Thinking Sphinx plug-in within my rails application. I can't rebuild index with Thinking Sphinx rake task after application server starting up even if I stop it: Stopped search daemon (pid 4492). ... bla bla bla ... total 3 reads, 0.000 sec, 1.3 kb/call avg, 0.0 msec/call avg total 9 writes, 0.000 sec, 1.2 kb/call avg, 0.0 msec/call avg WARNING: could not open pipe (GetLastError()=2) rake aborted! searchd is already running. If I reload system, I can rebuild index. What do you think about? p.s: Does this question suited for serverfault.com?

• Windows FAT/NTFS Low-Level Disk Viewer (Norton DiskEdit alternative)

  Hi, One of my most valuable software tools has always been Norton DiskEdit from Norton Utilities/Symantec Systemworks. I have used it for years for so many things, including, but not limited to learning file-systems. I am now in search of a similar tool that can let me view FAT and NTFS disks at a low and high level under Windows. I have seen Runtime Software’s DiskExplorer, but unfortunately, it is limited in a number of ways, particularly annoying is that it does not really let you view the disk as structured (it does not let you see directory entries from a directory that is fragmented like DiskEdit can without doing a too-exhaustive scan which doesn’t even work for FAT partitions that have cluster sizes <4KB). Does anyone know of a Windows alternative of a Norton DiskEditor? Thanks a lot.

• Couldn't find package - But package is listed in the Packages file

  (Quoted items are redacted elements) I am using a private repository and an currently trying to repackage some packages 3rd-party packages. I extract the package, make a few modifications (just the control files to fit with company policy - though sometimes file install locations though not in this case) and repackage (and usually rename). Normally I copy the files into a new blank debhelper project and reconstruct the package, however, with a recent one I attempting to convert and some libraries and stuff aren't linking properly (I did copy the postinst, postrm, and preinst files along with all DEDIAN files exactly), the original package worked, but my repackage doesn't, despite providing the same files in the same locations and the same postinst and preinst. So I was attempting to just modify the current packages control files (as the original package is not very good and will not list in our repository and getting a better one from the 3rd party is not an option). I also renamed the package. I did the following: dpkg-deb -R "directory" Modify DEBIAN/control dpkg-deb -b "directory" "package name I want" I did this and put it in our repository. The package shows up in the "Packages" file on the repository and running apt-get update on the client side shows the package in: /var/lib/apt/lists/"server"_"location"_Packages However when I do an apt-get install on the package name (as listed in the Packages file - I did a copy paste) it says it can't find the package. Same with an apt-cache search The Packages listings is as follow (name redacted): Package: "package name" Priority: extra Section: unknown Maintainer: "maintainer" Architecture: any Version: 1.0-lucid5 Depends: libc Filename: "directory"/"package_filename" Size: 2206292 MD5sum: "md5sum" SHA1: "sha key" SHA256: "sha256 key" Description: "description" I am running as sudo (and tried as root as well). I don't understand why apt-get won't see the package. Can you point out any flaws in what I have done, or perhaps some help on getting apt-get to properly see the package. Or perhaps an alternative. I am not even sure if this is a valid way to repackage something. Thanks.

  I'm trying to use the PHP CLI, and when I enter something like php test.php in the command line it returns: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/php_mysql.dll' - dlopen(/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/php_mysql.dll, 9): image not found in Unknown on line 0 something test.php contains: <?php echo 'something'; ?> I checked /usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/, and as expected the .dll file isn't there. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to this - what is happening, and how can I fix it? A search of my system for "php_msyql.dll" reveals nothing. Does it have to do with how I compiled it? I don't have the original version of php that came with the mac, I think - I may have reinstalled it somewhere along the way. Any help would be appreciated!

  Hi all! As a curious web developer I've been hearing about node.js for several months and (just) now I'd like to learn it and, most of all, understand its "engine". So, as a real newbie about node.js I'm going to follow some tutorials. And as every new technology over the internet, find a very good and exhaustive tutorial is like looking for a needle in a haystack :) My "big question" can be split into this 3 sub-questions: I know node.js can be very useful to build web-chats. But, apart from this example (and from helloworld one :D), how could I use it? Which are the real-life examples that let me think i.e. "oh, it's fantastic, I could really integrate it for my daily projects"? I also know it implements some JS specifications. It is required to deeply know other programming languages apart from JS? Where can I find a good reference (basically, I don't want to search "node.js reference" on google hoping to be lucky enough to get some good websites)? Thanks everyone!

• Web based library management (FOSS) application

  I'm looking for a FOSS web-based library management application. I want to manage the few books we have at our company, and I'm looking for applications that provide a simple web interface to: Add new books. Search for books. (Not Required) Place holds on books. My ideal would be something like Delicious Library, but web based and open source. I've looked at Koha (which I could not install), Emilda, which seems to be a dead project (last emails are from 2006 and I could not install it) and VuFind which looks awesome but doesn't provide (or I could not find) an interface to add new records to the library. Any suggestions?

• OCS 2007 R2 Client not syncing Addrss book

  I've checked online for most solution for this issue, but nothing seems to be working. When I check the log files on our OCS 2007 R2 server, it is identifying 25 users in the address book. However, when I try and force a sync with the clients, they do not update. I can find the users if I search for them, but they are not coming down by themselves. Is there anything I can check or force from the client side? There is no address book file locally to delete and re-force down.

  Hi all, I recently removed a sub-domain from my domain so I just have 1 website to manage. However, if I do a google search, my old domain is still there, I removed the sub-domain well over a week ago and if you try to access the domain directly, you will get an error saying the website can not be found (the records have been deleted). What is the easiest way to remove that sub-domain from google searches since they no longer exist? Shouldn't google see that the domain no longer exists and delete those entries? Walter

  Hi, I tried installing mysql a couple of times and I'm having problems. First of all, when I install it gives me a message that it's setting up and it just hangs. I can't ctl + c out of it, so I reboot the server and try to log into the db with sudo mysql -u root -p I enter my password and then get ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) I restart the server: sudo /etc/init.d/mysql start Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8) utility, e.g. service mysql start Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an Upstart job, you may also use the start(8) utility, e.g. start mysql ~$ I try this: aptitude search mysql | grep ^i i A libdbd-mysql-perl - Perl5 database interface to the MySQL data i libmysql-java - Java database (JDBC) driver for MySQL i A libmysqlclient16 - MySQL database client library i mysql-client-5.1 - MySQL database client binaries i A mysql-client-core-5.1 - MySQL database core client binaries i mysql-common - MySQL database common files, e.g. /etc/mys i mysql-embedded - MySQL - embedded library i mysql-server-core-5.1 - MySQL database server binaries When I navigate to the folder to see if the *.sock file exists: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' it does not. • Debug.Assert replacement for Phone and Store apps

  I don’t know about you, but all my code is, and always has been, littered with Debug.Assert statements. I think it all started way back in my (short-lived, but impactful to me) Eiffel days, when I was applying Design by Contract. Anyway, I can’t live without Debug.Assert. Imagine my dismay when I upgraded my Windows Phone 7.x app (Translator By Moth) to Windows Phone 8 and discovered that my Debug.Assert statements would not display anything on the target and would not break in the debugger any longer! Luckily, the solution was simple and in this post I share it with you – feel free to teak it to meet your needs. Steps to use Add a new code file to your project, delete all its contents, and paste in the code from MyDebug.cs Perform a global search in your solution replacing Debug.Assert with MyDebug.Assert Build solution and test Now, I do not know why this functionality was broken, but I do know that it exhibits the same broken characteristics for Windows Store apps. There is a simple workaround there to use Contract.Assert which does display a message and offers an option to break in the debugger (although it doesn’t output the message to the Output window). Because I plan on code sharing between Phone and Windows 8 projects, I prefer to have the conditional compilation centralized, so I added the Contract.Assert workaround directly in MyDebug class, so that you can use this class for both platforms – enjoy and enhance! • Why did my Cisco router hang?

  We have a Cisco 1841 in our storage IDF that was originally running a 12.4(1) IP-BASE image; I wanted to upgrade to an advancedservicesk9-mz image, but the flash did not have enough space, so I deleted the running image. Later I tried inserting a larger CF from a Catalyst4500, which crashed the 1841 router (now without a bootable image). Using another 1800 series router, I loaded the 12.4(25g) advancedservicesk9 image and verified the image checksums. I set the confreg to 0x2102 from rommon and booted the new image; however the 1841 now hangs indefinitely after printing the IOS export control banner. I have tried four other images, all with the same results. What is wrong with this router? UPDATE 1: I tried loading images from a FAT16-formatted USB, but this didn't work either. I also tried tftpdnld from rommon, but got a get_mac_address(): Search T_IDPROM_MACADDR (0xc3) failed Illegal MAC address. error and the file would not load.
