• What skills should a developer/tester learn in order to move into a permanent Systems Analysis role?

  I have been with a software services firm for 5 years and have fallen into a "jack of all trades" role, which I am looking to move out of. I've spent about 1 year each in programming (VB/VB.NET), application support, systems analysis, and most recently, software testing, which in my current position is all manual. I've really lost interest in the programming and testing roles; I would prefer a position where I get to work more with people, such as systems analysis. I even got a chance to be a trainer at the same company for a few months, a temporary position which I enjoyed very much. Given that most of my real experience is with software, support, and testing, what knowledge areas and skills should I focus on learning and mastering in order to make myself an attractive candidate for a permanent position as a business/systems analyst?

• XNA Skinning Sample - exporting from Blender recognize only first animation clip

  (and sorry for my English) I'm using animation components from XNA Skinning Sample. It works great but when I export a model from Blender, it does not recognize any other animation clips than the first one. So I have three animation clips, but XNA recognize only one. Also, when I looked up on Xml file of the model in Debug\Content\obj directory, there is only one animation clip, but when I check code directly from .fbx file, it seems to be alright. • Anything Mouse Like Isn't Seen by Ubuntu 13.10

  I have a upgraded 13.10 from 13.04 and today this issue of anything that is mouse-like is not seen by Ubuntu. The only input device that works is my Wacom Tablet and it's pen. I already checked for updates and have the latest updates for the Ubuntu system. • UK SQL Server User Group Events (June)

  Azure Storage Explorer –  an another way to Deploy the services on Cloud Azure Storage Explorer is a useful GUI tool for inspecting and altering the data in your Azure cloud storage projects including the logs of your cloud-hosted applications. All three types of cloud storage can be viewed: blobs, queues, and tables. You can also create or delete blob/queue/table containers and items.   Has anyone got any ideas on where we should be adding our SEO metadata in a Web Forms project? Why I ask is that currently I have two main Masterpages, one is the home page and the other one is every other page, they both have the same metadata that’s just a generic description and set of key words about my site. The problem with that is search engines are only picking up my home page and my own search engine displays the same title and description for all results.   I've been contracting for about 3 years now. I am currently a contractor for a web firm. This is a hourly position. I want to find larger projects. I had read that some people are able to only do one or two jobs a year and be set on that. I want those types of jobs, and I want to hire people to take on these jobs as well, but I have no idea where to start. I highly doubt places like odesk post these types of contracts.   Hi, beginner developer here (around 1-1.5 years of experience). I've recently got an iOs development offer and also an opportunity to start career at embedded development (at another company). I'd be grateful for general thoughts on mobile and embedded development perspectives in a few years, just general advices, or may be links to good articles and discussions on the topic. Both choices have personal pros and cons in terms of interest, salary and what's not and I'm stuck with this atm. Also, I live in a almost purely outsorcing country (Ukraine), this probably matters too. Thank you for any help.

  Repeat Business obviously happens because the company has a great product or a great service. In the software industry, do companies make the code base complex enough so that the maintenance comes back to them? I have heard of cases where companies say "ya this code base has minor errors, let's ship them anyway, and let the customers come back for another change request on these". Then they would sometimes charge the customer for that. This question is specific to the software services industry. Do these things happen in the real world? I am trying to understand the business process.
