  • Embedding binary video data in a swf file

    Is it possible to play video from data that has been embedded in a swf at compile time (with the [Embed] metatag)? The "Import Video-Embed" feature provided by Flash CS3 etc. is not acceptable because it has many severe limitations (including sound synchronization issues, a maximum number of frames, and other caveats) I'm interested in being able to bundle flv video data in a swf (along with other assets), which will be played by an AIR application. I don't think it can be done. Anyone disagree?

    Does anyone know of a widget that displays 2 select boxes. One shows a list of all object in a model and the other shows the objects which have been selected. The user can then select an object from the first list, click an button which moves it to the 'selected' list. Then when the form is saved the objects in the selected list are saved in the manytomany field. Thanks

  • iPhone SDK - UITabBarConroller and custom design

    Hi I am having a problem with my tab bars at the bottom of the screen. The designer has decided it should be one colour (not black) when inactive and another colour when active. I have worked out how to replace the main colour of the tabbar by subclassing UITabBarController and doing this:- - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; CGRect frame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0, self.view.bounds.size.width, self.view.bounds.size.height); UIView *v = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; //get percentage values from digitalcolour meter and enter as decimals v.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:.0 green:.706 blue:.863 alpha:1]; [tabBar1 insertSubview:v atIndex:0]; [v release]; } I just can't see how to make the active tabbar be a separate colour when it is selected. I have tried subclassing UITabBarItem but there doesn't seem to be any property for me to set to change the background colour of the tab. They also want to have the icons on the tab bar not be blue and grey and I can't figure out how to do that. In the ViewController for one tab bar item I have put this into viewdidload:- myTabBarItem *tabItem = [[myTabBarItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"listOOO" image:[UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"] tag:1]; tabItem.customHighlightedImage=[UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"]; self.tabBarItem=tabItem; [tabItem release]; tabItem=nil; and in my subclass of UITabBarItem I have put this:- -(UIImage *) selectedImage{ return self.customHighlightedImage; } Only I don't see the icon at all. If I put this into the viewDidLoad of my subclass of UITabBarController:- for (UITabBarItem *item in tabBar1.items){ item.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"]; } Then all my tab bars have the icon but they are blue (and grey when inactive) how would I get them not to become blue but stay their original colour?   • Drawing selected state on custom UITableViewCell

    So I have a customer UITableViewCell whose whole display in drawn in drawRect. When it draws it creates CGLayers so that it can reuse certain pieces when something is changed. I have changed my UITableViewCellSelectionStyle to None because I don't want the default selected view to cover my drawing. So I call setNeedsDisplay in setSelected:animated: for my cell. But by the time drawRect is called, setSelected:animated: has already been called again to deselect the cell. In my table view controller in didSelectRowAtIndexPath I call deselectRowAtIndexPath as Apple advises. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I'm trying to perform a usort on an array inside an instance of a class. But the sort is dependent on the properties of said instance.   • XML: Process large data

    Hello What XML-parser do you recommend for the following purpose: The XML-file (formatted, containing whitespaces) is around 800 MB. It mostly contains three types of tag (let's call them n, w and r). They have an attribute called id which i'd have to search for, as fast as possible. Removing attributes I don't need could save around 30%, maybe a bit more. First part for optimizing the second part: Is there any good tool (command line linux and windows if possible) to easily remove unused attributes in certain tags? I know that XSLT could be used. Or are there any easy alternatives? Also, I could split it into three files, one for each tag to gain speed for later parsing... Speed is not too important for this preparation of the data, of course it would be nice when it took rather minutes than hours. Second part: Once I have the data prepared, be it shortened or not, I should be able to search for the ID-attribute I was mentioning, this being time-critical. Estimations using wc -l tell me that there are around 3M N-tags and around 418K W-tags. The latter ones can contain up to approximately 20 subtags each. W-Tags also contain some, but they would be stripped away. "All I have to do" is navigating between tags containing certain id-attributes. Some tags have references to other id's, therefore giving me a tree, maybe even a graph. The original data is big (as mentioned), but the resultset shouldn't be too big as I only have to pick out certain elements. Now the question: What XML parsing library should I use for this kind of processing? I would use Java 6 in a first instance, with having in mind to be porting it to BlackBerry. Might it be useful to just create a flat file indexing the id's and pointing to an offset in the file? Is it even necessary to do the optimizations mentioned in the upper part? Or are there parser known to be quite as fast with the original data? Little note: To test, I took the id being on the very last line on the file and searching for the id using grep. This took around a minute on a Core 2 Duo. What happens if the file grows even bigger, let's say 5 GB? I appreciate any notice or recommendation. Thank you all very much in advance and regards

    I need some guidance on how to add a validation method to the jquery validate plugin. I've gathered that i need to use the plugin's addMethod() function, but how exactly to have it do what i need... Here i am! My form 's first question is a radio input choice. Each radio input, if selected, shows a sub-question of several checkboxes. What i would like my validation to do is: - make sure one radio input is selected - make sure at least one checkbox pertaining to the radio input is selected. Basically, out of the validate plugin's own logic, i would count the selector's length, and if there isn't any, return the error message. Something like this: var weekSelected = ($('input.seasonSelector:checked input.weekSelector:checked',form).length > 0); if(!weekSelected){ return 'Please select a week inside that season'; } How to turn that into a validate plugin method ?

  • Custom ValidationAttribute test against whole model

    I know this is probably not possible but let's say I have a model with two properties. I write a ValidationAttribute for one of the properties. Can that VA look at the other property and make a decision? So; public class QuickQuote { public String state { get; set; } [MyRequiredValidator(ErrorMessage = "Error msg")] public String familyType { get; set; } So in the above example, can the validator test to see what's in the "state" property and take that into consideration when validating "familyType"? I know I can probably save the object to the session but would like to avoid any saving of state if possible.

    I have a Scintilla control that I create in C#, and the syntax highlighting doesn't work.     With CSS selectors a query string body > h1.span subscribes to a specific type of nodes in the tree. Does anyone know how this is done? Selectors for transformations, how does the browser select the result set? And is there a trick to making it efficient? I imagine there being some sort of hierarchical type-tree for the entire structure to which the nodes subscribe and which is what is used when doing the selector queries — but this is only a guess. Does anyone know the real answer? Or even more interesting, what would be the best way to do dynamic lookups on a tree based on jQuery/CSS search queries?

However, if instead of doing a select on all (*) if I try to name individual columns to return from the query I get the information I asked for, but rather than being split up into seperate entries in the data table I get a string in the first index of the data table that looked something like: "(0,5,false,Bob Smith,7)" And the data is correct, I would be expecting 0, then 5, then a boolean, then some text etc. But I would (obviously) prefer it to not be returned as just one big string. Anyone know why if I do a select on * I get a datatable as expected, but if I do a select on specific columns I get a data table with one entry that is the string of the values I'm asking for?
