    I have a hidden DIV which contains a toolbar-like menu. I have a number of DIVs which are enabled to show the menu DIV when the mouse hovers over them. Is there a built-in function which will move the menu DIV to the top right of the active (mouse hover) DIV? I'm looking for something like $(menu).position("topright", targetEl);

    I got this code: GrooveOnDownload *dlg = [[GrooveOnDownload alloc] init]; NSURLDownload *dw = [[NSURLDownload alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:dlg]; It starts the download in a delegate class with outlets for UI controls. But for some reason controls don't respond to direct messages from the delegate. //Header of the delegate @interface GrooveOnDownload : NSObject { IBOutlet id downloadButton; //... //Implementation //... [downloadButton setEnabled:FALSE]; // Doesn't work //... Any ideas?

  • How to update (append to) an href in jquery?

    I have a list of links that all go to a google maps api. the links already have the daddr (destination) parameter in them as static. I am using Geo-Location to find the users position and I want to add the saddr (source address) to the links once I get the data. so basically I will need to add something like &saddr=50.1234567,-50.03452 at the tail end of all the links pointing to google maps All the links have a class called directions-link and from this page I have figured out how to change them: $("a.directions-link").attr("href", "http://www.google.com/"); However I only want to append my value to the end of the href without changing what the href already is. How can I do that? Thanks!!

  • Coloring Default Buttons - color filter only on unfocused state

    I want to buttons of different colors, but I want to do so while using the default button background resource in order to preserve the onfocus and onclick states. This is because I want to use the default highlight color of the OS for my app, which is NOT always orange (HTC Sense makes it green). I found that adding a color filter to the button's background drawable works great (in this case, blue): myButton.getBackground().setColorFilter(Color.parseColor(this.getString (R.color.button_blue)), Mode.MULTIPLY); BUT, when the button is focused or clicked, it turns a nasty orange_blue because it mixes the color filter with the orange of the background drawable. I want to ONLY set this color filter for the unfocused/unclicked nine- patch drawable within the default button's statelistdrawable. I'm not sure how else to do this. I see a similar solution here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2065430/fixed-android-detecting-fo... but I have some concerns with that solution, mainly what if the OS changes the graphic of the default button? Since the normal unfocused/ unpressed graphic is now hardcoded into the app, it would break the flow. Maybe can someone comment on whether it would be good or bad practice to hardcode the default graphic into the app? What are the chances of the OS completely changing the graphic? Any help please?     I'm trying to iterate a bunch of SELECT OPTION html drop-down fields and from the ones that are NOT empty, take the values and add a hidden field for a PAYPAL shopping cart. My problem is that for some reason, the variable "curitem" is not passed inside the each function and I can't add the hidden field like they should. All I get is "NaN" or "undefined". What PAYPAL expect is : item_name_1, item_name_2, etc. All numbers must iterate by +1. How can I do this?     I am working on web project. We are using flex as UI layer. My question is often we are writing core service layer separately from web/UI layer so we can reuse same services for different UI layer/technology. So practically is it possible to reuse same core layer services without any changes/addition in API with different kind of UI technologies/layers. For e.g. same core service layer with UI technology which supports synchronized request response (e.g. jsp etc.) and non synchronize or event driven UI technology (e.g Ajax, Flex, GWT etc.) or with multiple devices like (computers, mobiles, pdas etc.). Personally I feel its very tough to write core service layer without any knowledge of UI. Looking for thoughts from other people.

Since I have 2 animations going, it seems it ignores the .stop(). What can be done to prevent this?   • Error message: "$(window).width is not a function"

    Hi all, i am trying to use a jQuery scrollbar called "Jscrollhorizontalpane". when i am trying to use it i get the following error message: "$(window).width is not a function" in firebug's console. i am new to jQuery do this might be very basic but still, i dont know what that means and why there is a problem. the scroller comes in a bundle with a few files, one of which is called "jScrollHorizontalPane.js" and i believe it holds the code for the scroller. i tried replacing $ signs there with the word "jQuery" (in case there is a conflict) but it didnt seem to help. also important to add that on the same page i am using another jQuery scroller (a vertical one as opposed to the horizontal on mentioned above) which works just fine and when i examined it's .js file, i could spot lines with "$(window).width". any ideas?
