• shared memory STL maps

  Hello, I am writing an Apache module in C++. I need to store the common data that all childs need to read as a portion of shared memory. Structure is kind of map of vectors, so I want to use STL map and vectors for it. I have written a shared allocator and a shared manager for the purpose, they work fine for vectors but not for maps, below is the example: typedef vector<CustomersData, SharedAllocator<CustomersData> > CustomerVector; CustomerVector spData; //this one works fine typedef SharedAllocator< pair< const int, CustomerVector > > PairAllocator; typedef map< int, CustomerVector, less<int>, PairAllocator > SharedMap; SharedMap spIndex; //this one doesn't work I get compile time errors when I try to use the second object (spIndex), which are someting like: ../SpatialIndex.h:97: error: '((SpatialIndex*)this)-SpatialIndex::spIndex' does not have class type It looks like the compiler cannot determine a type for SharedMap template type, which is strange in my opinion, it seems to me that all the template parameters have been specified. • Signals and Variables in VHDL - Problem

  I have a signal and this signal is a bitvector. The length of the bitvector depends on an input n, it is not fixed. In order to find the length, I have to do some computations. Can I define a signal after defining the variables ? It is ggiving me errors when I do that. It is working fine If I keep the signal before the variables .. but I don't want that .. the length of Z depends on the computations of the variables. • Compiling x264 with mp4 support problem

  I'm trying to compile x264 with mp4 output support. I download the latest version from their git by typing git clone git://git.videolan.org/x264.git When I run ./configure it configures and I'm able to make it. But when i try to configure it with ./configure --enable-mp4-output and then try to make it, it returns a strange error, indicating that there is a compilation error. The error message looks like: ... • Moving delegate-related function to a different thread

  Hello everybody. We are developing a library in C# that communicates with the serial port. We have a function that is given to a delegate. The problem is that we want it to be run in a different thread. • LaTeX printing only first two pages of a document

  I am working in LaTeX, and when I create a pdf file (using LaTeX button or pdfLaTeX button or using yap) the pdf has only the first two pages. No errors. It just stops. If I make the first page longer by adding text, it still stops at end of 2nd page. Any ideas? • Qt - no such signal error

  I'm trying to trigger a signal when a double click happens in one of the draggable widgets on the fridge magnets example. Here's the changes I made to the example source: DragLabel: class DragLabel : public QLabel { public: DragLabel(const QString &text, QWidget *parent); QString labelText() const; public slots: void testSlot(){qDebug()<<"testSlot";} //<-- implemented this slot protected: void mouseDoubleClickEvent(QMouseEvent *ev){emit testSignal();} //<-- overriden this method private: QString m_labelText; signals: void testSignal(); //<-- added this signal }; The only thing I changed in the implementation file is adding connect(this,SIGNAL(testSignal()),this,SLOT(testSlot())); to DragLabel's constructor. Trying to compile the project resulted in 'undefined reference to `DragLabel::testSignal()' and 'collect2: ld returned 1 exit status' errors. When I comment out the call to the signal, it compiles and runs, but gives off 'Object::connect: No such signal QLabel::testSignal() in draglabel.cpp' warning in the application output. Apparently testSignal() isn't being recognized as a signal. What am I missing?

• how to access a type defined in one .ml file in another .ml file

  Hi, I m very new to ocaml and i m facing the problem below, In a.ml a record type t is defined and is also defined transparently in a.mli, i.e. in d interface so that the type definition is available to all other files. a.ml also has a function, func, which returns a list of t. Now in another file, b.ml i m calling func, now obviously ocaml compiler wud nt be able to infer d type of objects stored in d list, for compiler its just a list. so in b.ml, i hav something like dis, let tlist = A.func in let vart = List.hd tlist in printf "%s\n" vart.name (name is a field in record t) Now here i get a compiler error sayin "Unbound record field label name" which makes sense as compiler can't infer d type of vart. my first question: how do I explicitly provide d type of vart as t here? i tried doing "let vart:A.t = " but got the same error. I also tried creating another function to fetch the first element of d list and mentioning return type as A.t, but then i got the "Unbound value A.t". I did this: let firstt = function [] - 0 | x :: _ - A.t x ;; The problem is compiler is unable to recognize A.t (a type) in b.ml but is able to recognize function A.func. If I remove A.t from the b.ml, i don'get any compiler errors. Please help, its urgent work. Thanks in advance! ~Tarun

  I need a function, but cannot seem to get it quite right, I have looked at examples here and elsewhere and cannot seem to get this just right, I need an optional item to be included in my query, I have this query (which works): SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT SKU, Description, LEN(CONVERT(VARCHAR (1000),Description)) AS LenDesc FROM tblItem WHERE Title = @Title AND Manufacturer = @Manufacturer ORDER BY LenDesc DESC This works within a Function, however the Manufacturer is Optional for this search - which is to find the description of a similar item, if none is present, the other query is: SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT SKU, Description, LEN(CONVERT(VARCHAR (1000),Description)) AS LenDesc FROM tblItem WHERE Title = @Title ORDER BY LenDesc DESC Which is missing the Manufacturer, how to I get my function to use either query based on the Manufacturer Value being present or not. The reason is I will have a function which first checks an SKU for a Description, if it is not present - it uses this method to get a Description from a Similar Product, then updates the product being added with the similar product's description. • How can I run a BitchX when I don't have ssh or shell access?

  I just installed an IRC bot, B****X (Don't ask, I don't know - the real name is not censored). I did all of the configuration and chmod'ed the pl files to 755, but running it won't work. My host does not allow SSH/Shell (which is how the documentation says to runs he script), but just going to the URL usually works because of this. However, I get a 500 (Internal Server Error) error. • Problem while executing test case in VS2008 test project

  Hi all I have the situation as follows I have develpoed one test project in visual studio 2008 to test my target project.   MacOS version : 10.7.2 ( lion ) Doxygen version : 1.7.5.1 Graphviz version : 2.29 Doxygen configuration - DOT_PATH = ../../../../Applications/Contents/MacOS/Graphviz HAVE_DOT = YES SHORT_NAMES = YES From the log console - First line it gives a warning - warning: the dot tool could not be found at ../../../../Applications/Contents/MacOS/Graphviz - I have tried various combinations but the warning does not go , although it generates the images. Generating dot graphs using 9 parallel threads... Running dot for graph 1/68 sh: dot: command not found Problems running dot: exit code=127, command='dot', arguments='"/Users/salilk/Documents/project/DoxygenDocs/html/a00033.dot" -Tpng -o "/Users/salilk/Documents/project/DoxygenDocs/html/a00033.png"' In the html directory the .dot files have been generated but no .png. Now if I execute the same command from the Terminal the .png file gets generated and is displayed in its .html file. Another error from the console is - error: problems opening map file /Users/salilk/Documents/A2O Collaborate/DoxygenDocs/html/a00032.map for inclusion in the docs! If you installed Graphviz/dot after a previous failing run, try deleting the output directory and rerun doxygen. - Is this related to the above problem ? I have used Doxygen before on a Windows machine and didn't have these errors , do we need to do any configurations specific for Mac ? - Salil.

• MVC design question for forms

  Hi, I'm developing an app which has a large amount of related form data to be handled. I'm using a MVC structure and all of the related data is represented in my models, along with the handling of data validation from form submissions. I'm looking for some advice on a good way to approach laying out my controllers - basically I will have a huge form which will be broken down into manageable categories (similar to a credit card app) where the user progresses through each stage/category filling out the answers. All of these form categories are related to the main relation/object, but not to each other. Does it make more sense to have each subform/category as a method in the main controller class (which will make that one controller fairly massive), or would it be better to break each category into a subclass of the main controller? It may be just for neatness that the second approach is better, but I'm struggling to see much of a difference between either creating a new method for each category (which communicates with the model and outputs errors/success) or creating a new controller to handle the same functionality. • Do overlays work correctly in Emacs for Windows?

  I'm using Flymake on C# code, emacs v22.2.1 on Windows. The Flymake stuff has been working well for me. For those who don't know, you can read an overview of flymake, but the quick story is that flymake repeatedly builds the source file you are currently working on in the background, for the purpose of doing syntax checking. It then highlights the compiler warnings and erros in the current buffer. Flymake didn't work for C# initially, but I "monkey-patched it" and it works nicely now. If you edit C# in emacs, I highly recommend using flymake. The only problem I have is with the UI. Flymake highlights the errors and warnings nicely, and then inserts "overlays" with the full error or warning text. IF I hover the mouse pointer over the highlighted line in code, the overlay pops up. But as you can see, the overlay is truncated, and it doesn't display correctly. Flymake seems to be doing the right thing, it's the overlay part that seems broken. Do overlays work correctly in emacs for Windows? Where do I look to fix this?

Edit: Took me a while to figure it out, but the problem was in sock.listen(5). Because I was using apache benchmark with a higher concurrency (5 and up) it was causing the backlog of connections to pile up, at which point the connections started getting dropped by the socket.

• xcode 5.1: libCordova.a architecture problems

  Yesterday (3/10/14) when iOS 7.1 was released I also upgraded to Xcode 5.1 and found that my PhoneGap/Cordova project would no longer compile to my iPhone 5s. I also upgraded Cordova to the most recent release: v 3.4.0-0.1.3. I have read many different solutions on SO that relate so changing active architectures and building only active architectures, and none of them work. So here's what I've tried and the errors I get. Initially I got the error: missing required architecture arm64 in file <long file path omitted> libCordova.a Undefined symbols for architecture arm64 So I tried the following. I selected the CordovaLib sub-project in my project, and in both the project and target, I went to Build Settings under Architectures and made sure that arm64 was not included in any of the Debug or Release architectures. At this time Build Active Architecture Only is set to "Yes". That resulted in the following error: file was built for archive which is not the architecture being linked (armv7): <long file path omitted> libCordova.a Undefined symbols for architecture armv7 Setting Build Active Architecture Only to "No", the error again becomes: missing required architecture arm64 in file <long file path omitted> libCordova.a Undefined symbols for architecture arm64 I'm not sure what else to try. The project's architecture settings only includes the key "Base SDK" which is set to iOS 7.1. The project's target does not have architectures settings. Anyway I'm fairly certain the problem lies with the embedded CordovaLib sub-project. What can I do to make this thing compile to my device successfully? • using fopen on uploaded file with php

  Im uploading a file, and then attempting to use fgetcsv to do things to it. This is my script below. Everything was working fine before i added the file upload portions. Now its not showing any errors, its just not displaying the uploaded data. • SSAS Cube reprocessing fails - then succeeds if I try again

  So I'm basically brand new to the concept of BI, and I've inherited an existing ETL process that is a two step process: 1) Loads the data into a database that is only used by the cube processing 2) Starts off the SSAS cube processing against said database It seems pretty well isolated, but occasionally (once a week, sometimes twice) it will fail with the following exception: "Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found" Now the interesting thing is that: 1) The dimension having the issue is not usually the same one (i.e. there's no single dimension that consistently has this failure) 2) The source table, when I inspect it, does actually contain the attribute key that it says could not be found And, most interestingly... 3) If I then immediately reprocess the dimensions and cubes manually through SSMS, they reprocess successfully and without incident. In both the aforementioned job and when I reprocess them through SSMS, I am using "ProcessFull", so it should be reprocessing them completely. Has anyone run into such an issue? I'm scratching my head about it... because if it was a genuine data integrity issue, reprocessing the cube again wouldn't fix it. What on earth could be happening? I've been tasked with finding out why this happens, but I can neither reproduce it consistently nor can I point to a data integrity problem as the root cause. Thanks for any input you can provide!

• python NameError: name '<anything>' is not defined (but it is!)

  Note: Solved. It turned out that I was importing a previous version of the same module. It is easy to find similar topics on StackOverflow, where someone ran into a NameError. But most of the questions deal with specific modules and the solution is often to update the module. In my case, I am trying to import a function from a module that I wrote myself. The module is named InfraPy, and it is definitely on sys.path. One particular function (called listToText) in InfraPy returns a NameError, but only when I try to import it into another script. Inside InfraPy, under if __name__=='__main__':, the listToText function works just fine. From InfraPy I can import other functions with no problems. Including from InfraPy import * in my script does not return any errors until I try to use the listToText function. How can this occur? How can importing one particular function return a NameError, while importing all the other functions in the same module works fine? Using python 2.6 on MacOSX 10.6, also encountered the same error running the script on Windows 7, using IronPython 2.6 for .NET 4.0 Thanks. If there are other details you think would be helpful in solving this, I'd be happy to provide them. As requested, here is the function definition inside of InfraPy: def listToText(inputList, folder=None, outputName='list.txt'): ''' Creates a text file from a list (with each list item on a separate line). Again, the other functions import fine, they are all defined outside of if __name__=='__main__': in InfraPy.

• How do I associate Parameters to Command objects in ADO with VBScript?

  I have been working an ADO VBScript that needs to accept parameters and incorporate those parameters in the Query string that gets passed the the database. I keep getting errors when the Record Set Object attempts to open. If I pass a query without parameters, the recordset opens and I can work with the data. When I run the script through a debugger, the command object does not show a value for the parameter object. It seems to me that I am missing something that associates the Command object and Parameter object, but I do not know what. Here is a bit of the VBScript Code: ... The problem I am seeing is that the Parameter object shows the correct value, but the command object's parameter field is null according to my debugger.

  Hi I have a CALayer tree hierarchy A B C D where A is the view's root layer (and I create and add B,C and D layers. I am using the same delegate method `- (void) drawLayer:(CALayer *) theLayer inContext:(CGContextRef)context to provide content to each of these layers (implemented through a switch statement in the above method). At initiation A's content is drawn (A.contents) sequentially through these methods `- (void) drawLayer:(CALayer *) theLayer inContext:(CGContextRef)context -(void) drawCircle:(CALayer *) theLayer inContext:(CGContextRef)context where drawCircle does CGContextSaveGState(context); / draws circle and other paths here / CGContextRestoreGState(context); CGImageRef contentImage = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(context); theLayer.contents = (id) contentImage; CGImageRelease(contentImage); (i.e I save the Context, do the drawing, restore the context, make a bitmap of the context, update the layer's contents, in this case A's, then release the contentimage). When the user then clicks somewhere in the circle at touchesEnded:(NSSet*)touches withEvent:(UIEvent*)event delegate method I then try to paint the content of B by (still in touchesEnded:) CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); [self drawLayer:self.B inContext:context]; [self.B setNeedsDisplay]; the setNeedsDisplay call the delegate - drawLayer:(CALayer *) theLayer inContext:(CGContextRef)context again but this time the switch statement (using a layer flag) calls [self drawCircle:theLayer inContext:context]; with color red. The problem I am facing is that when -drawCircle: inContext: is called I get a long list of CGContext errors, starting with <Error>: CGContextSaveGState: invalid context and ending with CGBitmapContextCreateImage: invalid context I played around with making context the view's ivar and it worked so i am sure the context is the problem but I don't know what. I've tried CGContextFlush but it didn't help. Any help would be appreciated thank you
