    I have the following model setup. from django.db import models from django.contrib.auth.models import User class SomeManager(models.Manager): def friends(self): # return friends bla bla bla class Relationship(models.Model): """(Relationship description)""" from_user = models.ForeignKey(User, related_name='from_user') to_user = models.ForeignKey(User, related_name='to_user') has_requested_friendship = models.BooleanField(default=True) is_friend = models.BooleanField(default=False) objects = SomeManager() relationships = models.ManyToManyField(User, through=Relationship, symmetrical=False) relationships.contribute_to_class(User, 'relationships') Here i take the User object and use contribute_to_class to add 'relationships' to the User object. The relationship show up, but if call User.relationships.friends it should run the friends() method, but its failing. Any ideas how i would do this? Thanks

  • Problem with Eclipse and a Maven multi-module project

    I have created a Maven project with the following structure: + root-project pom.xml (pom) + sub-projectA (jar) + sub-projectB (jar) I have done the following steps: mvn archetype:create –DgroupId=my.group.id –DartifactId=root-project mvn archetype:create –DgroupId=my.group.id –DartifactId=sub-projectA mvn archetype:create –DgroupId=my.group.id –DartifactId=sub-projectB So I have, obviously, in the top-level pom.xml the following elements: <modules> <module>sub-projectA</module> <module>sub-projectB</module> </modules> The last step was: mvn eclipse:clean eclipse:eclipse Now if I import the root-project in Eclipse, it seems to look at my projects as resources and not like java projects. However if I import each of child projects sub-projectA and sub-projectB, it looks them like java projects. This is a big problem for me because I have a deeper hierarchy. Any help would be appreciated!

    The app I'm working on has a self contained database. The only time I need HTTP request is when the user first loads the app. I do this by calling a class that verifies whether or not a local DB exists and, if not, create one with the following request: HttpRequest data = new HttpRequest("http://www.somedomain.com/xml", "GET", this); data.start(); This xml returns a list of content, all of which have images that I want to fetch AFTER the original request is complete and stored. So something like this won't work: HttpRequest data = new HttpRequest("http://www.somedomain.com/xml", "GET", this); data.start(); HttpRequest images = new HttpRequest("http://www.somedomain.com/xmlImages", "GET", this); images.start(); Since it will not treat this like an asynchronous request. I have not found much information on adding callbacks to httpRequest, or any other method I could use to ensure operation 2 does not execute until operation 1 is complete.   • Creating a RESTful service in CakePHP

    I'm attempting to create a RESTful service in CakePHP but I've hit a bit of a brick wall. I've enabled the default RESTful routing using Router::mapResources('users') and Router::parseExtensions(). This works well if I make a GET request, and returns some nicely formatted XML. So far so good. The problem is if I want to make a POST or PUT request. CakePHP doesn't seem to be able to read the data from the request. At the moment my add(), edit() and delete() actions don't contain any logic, they're simply setting $this-data to the view. I'm testing with the following cURL command: curl -v -d "<user><username>blahblah</username><password>blahblah</password>" http://localhost/users.xml --header 'content-type: text/xml' Which only returns a 404 header. If I remove the --header parameter then it returns the view but no data is set. It feels like I'm missing something obvious here. Any ideas?

  • Problem creating calculations 'engine' in two class java calculator

    i have hit a brick wall whilst attempting to create a two class java calculator but have been unsuccessful so far in getting it working. i have the code for an interface which works and displays ok but creating a seperate class 'CalcEngine' to do the actual calculations has proven to be beyond me. I'd appreciate it if someone could kick start things for me and create a class calcEngine which works with the interface class and allows input when from single button i.e. if one is pressed on the calc then 1 displays onscreen. please note i'm not asking someone to do the whole thing for me as i want to learn and i'm confident i can do the rest including addition subtraction etc. once i get over the obstacle of getting the two classes to communicate. any and all assistance would be very much appreciated.     I'm querying an underlying PostgreSQL database using Pandas 0.8. Pandas is returning the DataFrame properly but the underlying timestamp column in my database is being returned as a generic "object" type in Pandas. As I would eventually like to seasonal normalization of my data I am curious as to how to convert this generic "object" column to something that is appropriate for analysis.     Fisrt of all I have my ClientAccessPolicy.xml file in the root of my website. If I access my website using the public domain name like this: h t t p://www.mydomain.com and then go to the page where my SL control is, I get the spinning % numbers up until about 98%, then it quits and my SL control does not appear on the page. If I access my website using the machine name (website is at datacenter, we have vpn setup) like this: h t t p://machinename and then go to the page where my SL control is everything works fine. this must be a ClientAccess Policy issue don't your think? Or what DO you thnik the issue is? Thanks in advance.   • strange memory error when deleting object from Core Data

    I have an application that downloads an xml file, parses the file, and creates core data objects while doing so. In the parse code I have a function called 'emptydatacontext' that removes all items from Core Data before creating replacements from the xml file. This method looks like this: -(void) emptyDataContext { NSMutableArray* mutableFetchResults = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"Condition" :@"road" :NO :managedObjectContext]; NSFetchRequest * allCon = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; [allCon setEntity:[NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Condition" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]]; NSError * error = nil; NSArray * conditions = [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:allCon error:&error]; [allCon release]; for (NSManagedObject * condition in conditions) { [managedObjectContext deleteObject:condition]; } } The first time this runs it deletes all objects and functions as it should - creating new objects from the xml file. I created a 'update' button that starts the exact same process of retrieving the file the preceeding as it did the first time. All is well until its time to delete the core data objects again. This 'deleteObject' call creates a "EXC_BAD_ACCESS" error each time. This only happens on the second time through. See this image for the debugger window as it appears when walking through the deletion FOR loop on the second iteration. Conditions is the fetched array of 7 objects with the objects below. Condition should be an individual condition. link text As you can see 'condition' does not match any of the objects in the 'conditions' array. I'm sure this is why I'm getting the memory access errors. Just not sure why this fetch (or the FOR) is returning a wrong reference. All the code that successfully performes this function on the first iteration is used in the second but with very different results. Thanks in advance for the help!

But my project is maintained by maven , if I add "spring-modules-cache" to the runtime dependency , it will bring a lot of dependencies to my WAR file , filling my WAR with a lot of unnecessary jars. I just need one declaration in it , not all of its dependencies ... Is there any way to tell maven not to include its dependencies to the project ? Or ... another way , when packaging WAR , just copy another prepared spring-modules-cache.jar to WEB-INF/lib , how to do this ? Thanks !

    I need to import jpeg images into a WP7/XNA app with associated metadata. The program which manages these images exports to an XML file with an encoded byte[] of the jpg files. I've written a custom importer/processor which successfully imports the reserialized objects into my XNA project. There is one row I specified in XML, that one is showing up, but nothing below it.     I have a model, Order, that has an action in the admin panel that lets an admin send information about the order to certain persons listed that order. Each person has language set and that is the language the message is supposed to be sent in. A short version of what I'm using: from django.utils.translation import ugettext as _ from django.core.mail import EmailMessage lang = method_that_gets_customer_language() body = _("Dear mister X, here is the information you requested\n") body += some_order_information subject = _("Order information") email = EmailMessage(subject, body, '[email protected]', ['[email protected]']) email.send() The customer information about the language he uses is available in lang. The default language is en-us, the translations are in french (fr) and german (de). Is there a way to use the translation for the language specified in lang for body and subject then switch back to en-us? For example: lang is 'de'. The subject and body should get the strings specified in the 'de' translation files.

    Hello. I wrote a test dll in C++ to make sure things work before I start using a more important dll that I need. Basically it takes two doubles and adds them, then returns the result. I've been playing around and with other test functions I've gotten returns to work, I just can't pass an argument due to errors. My code is: import ctypes import string nDLL = ctypes.WinDLL('test.dll') func = nDLL['haloshg_add'] func.restype = ctypes.c_double func.argtypes = (ctypes.c_double,ctypes.c_double) print(func(5.0,5.0)) It returns the error for the line that called "func": ValueError: Procedure probably called with too many arguments (8 bytes in excess) What am I doing wrong?     I've been researching Dependency Injection and Inversion of Control practices lately in an effort to improve the architecture of our application framework and I can't seem to find a good answer to this question. It's very likely that I have my terminology confused, mixed up, or that I'm just naive to the concept right now, so any links or clarification would be appreciated. Many examples of DI and IoC containers don't illustrate how the container will connect things together when you have a "library" of possible "plugins", or how to "serialize" a given configuration. (From what I've read about MEF, having multiple declarations of [Export] for the same type will not work if your object only requires 1 [Import]). Maybe that's a different pattern or I'm blinded by my current way of thinking.
