  I'm trying to get a simple delete every pointer in my vector/list/... function written with an ultra cool lambda function. • How do I load a Direct X .x 3D model in iPhone SDK?

  I have been searching the internet for the last few days trying to figure this out. My goal is to draw a textured and animated .x file exported from a 3D program. I found a tutorial of how to load and draw a .obj file, which I understand, but the tutorial doesn't say how to texture it, and .obj doesn't support animation. The .x file structure is human readable just like .obj, but I have no clue how to texture it, and I might be able to figure out how to animate it, but I would prefer to be instructed on that. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

• How to use default.ctp in cakephp

  I just finished the "15 min Blog Post tutorial" included in the documentation for cakephp. I was asked for another tutorial to change the layout for first tutorial. However, I am fairly new to MVC programming/Cakephp and I have no real clue how to do so. Well, I know I need "default.ctp" placed in app/views/layouts/ and I presume I need to include to include my data? . . . I am really at a loss of what to do. I set up my default.ctp as I mentioned above, but when I go to localhost:9999/posts the layout is still the same. I guess I need to include a stylesheet (and if so, where?) I guess if someone can point me in the right direction to a beginner's guide to layout styling or how to use it I would greatly appreciate any help.

• Detecting metadata-only read requests in windows filesystem

  Hello, I'm developing a kind of filesystem driver. All of read requests that windows makes to my filesystem goes by the driver implementation. I would like to distinguish between "normal" read requests and those who want to get only the metadata from the file. ( Windows reads first 4K of the file and then stop reading ). Does Windows mark this metadata reads in some way? It would be very useful in order to treat that two kind of operations in a different way. In a typical CreateFile call, we have AccessMode, ShareMode, CreationDisposition and FlagsAndAttributes parameters ( being DWORD ), i'm not sure if it's possible to extract some clue of the operation requested. • Dynamic URL to Stay the Same on all Pages

  so when my url looks like this: http://mywebsitehere.com/?kw=1 I am using this code below to do stuff with it: <?php if( isset($_GET['kw'] )){ //my div here } ?> It works great, and I am getting exactly what I want on the page. However, any link I click on that page will change the url structure and remove the ?kw=1 . Is there anyway to add the ?kw=1 to every link for that session? I have no clue how to do this? Any ideas or answers would be great! Thanks! Let me know if I need to give more to my question.

• WebGL on older Mac OS X versions (say 10.4)

  Not really a programming related question but... I'd like very much to experiment with WebGL on my spare time. My current 'spare time' machine is a MacBook running Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.xx) and I'm unable to find a new browser supporting this OS. Firefox dropped support, Chrome too, and Safari idem. I read somewhere that this is due to a Quicktime bug that Apple won't fix. Does anyone have more information on this issue ? Does anyone have a clue or track to find a running implementation of WebGL on Mac OS X 10.4 ? Cheers,

  I would like to write a simple program in c++. After the program is done i would like to get my answers in form of a graph or picture that would give some certain information if i click on a certain area. i have only written console apllications in c++ before and don't really have a clue where to start with the graphic part of it all. Can I write the first part of the program in console mode and some how run it under the WIN32 later? for ex what will happen to the cout<<"foo"; commands? Is there a simpler approach to do some very basic graphic programming.

• Changing the way widgets are rendered/displayed in a form on the template

  I have a form with a few other embedded forms and some various widgets. The widgets are all saved in an array $form['elements'] and for some of them, I want to display labels and things, but for others I only want to display the basic rendering. foreach($form['elements'] as $elem) echo $elem->render(); this displays everything about the widget. The way it is right now, I couldn't for example call $elem['..'] because the different subforms appear in a random order and have different variable names. I assume I could still put some checks in the template, but it seems easier to fix this in the widget class, like override one of the render functions or something. How would I go about doing this or do you have any links that could help me understand how do do this? on a side note, one of my widgets is the sfWidgetFormChoice and I have no clue where it actually renders or how renderer_classes work

  Hi community, I have a question on accessing already existing paired bluetooth connections... How can a remote service detect an already paired connection and await a file transfer from it? In all comments on stackoverflow, on tutorials, ebooks or on google there is always shown how to create a new connection using sockets and so on, but no word about accessing to an existing one. Is it possible at all? If yes, can you also tell/show me how? At the moment I have no clue how to get started with it. Would be great if someone can help me get started :)

  Hi all, I am completely new to javascript programming and I have a question that I didn't manage to find an answer for anywhere. I have recently put together a simple slideshow to view the photos remotely that I host on my home computer. This by itself works fine. The problem I run into is that when I'm viewing photos I don't interact with the hardware, which after some time causes the monitor to switch off. This is particularly annoying when watching photos on my mobile phone. My question is: is there a way to prevent this from happening? I am thinking in the direction of faking a mouse or other event every time I refresh the photo, but I have no clue how to do that and if it is possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Today I've come to a situation where I had to get a set of strings and test them, then I remembered this language functionality, but I had no clue. After a few unsuccessful web searches, I've realised it would be more prudent to just get an array, which didn't make me quite satisfied. Q: How do I make a function that accepts infinite parameters?   AFAIK, java Date type is independent from Timezone which means that it represents specific moment of time as long typed value. I found really weird thing here. This is the original value i tried to insert. (http-0.0.0.0-9080-4) 1352955600000 <-- long integer. (http-0.0.0.0-9080-4) Thu Nov 15 00:00:00 EST 2012 <-- User Friendly Format. After i finished inserting into Oracle 11g database, the value has changed! (http-0.0.0.0-9080-4) 1352952000000 (http-0.0.0.0-9080-4) Wed Nov 14 23:00:00 EST 2012 How could this happen?? The more weird thing is it only happens specific environments such as Jboss. I'm currently using below environments. java 1.6 ibatis 2.34 jboss-5.1 (server) tomcat 6.0 (local) oracle 11g Is there anybody who can give me a clue or link to be helpful? it really bugging me!!

• PHP cURL loading delay

  Hello. My problem is, I need to cURL-load a page that uses Ajax-based search, to get results of that search. And I need to organize a delay between curl_exec() and value returning. In other words, I need to execute curl_exec() for no less than 5 seconds. sleep() seems to stop curl execution and does not work. Will greatly appreciate any hint or clue UPD I don't know how, but on this page http://vkontakte.ru/gsearch.php?section=video&q=sample&name=1, but it requires an account to access curl DOES capture the search made by ajax. But if page tooks too long to load, Ajax returns "action was too fast" error. So I just need to prolong curl execution. Sorry if being unclear.

• Graphics Question: How do I restrict the mouse cursor to within a circle?

  I'm playing with XNA. When I click the left mouse button, I record the X,Y co-ordinates. Keeping the mouse button held down, moving the mouse draws a line from this origin to the current mouse position. I've offset this into the middle of the window. Now, what I'd like to do is restrict the mouse cursor to within a circle (with a radius of N, centred on the middle of the screen). Restricting the mouse to a rectangular region is easy enough (by adjusting the origin by the difference of the mouse position and the size of the region), but I haven't a clue on how to start doing it for a circular region. Can anyone explain how to do this? Any advice on where to start would be helpful.

• Java classpath and config file

  I'm having some trouble finding a config file with classpath. I use : InputStream stream = myclass.class.getResourceAsStream("properties.file"); The properties.file is located under config directory. When running the program with eclipse, it works. I just added config folder in the classpath in the launch configuration. But If I want to run the exported jar like this : java -jar -cp C:\project\lib;C:\project\config myclass.jar I get the oh wonderful java.lang.NullPointerException because it can't find the file. This sounds classic and stupid but I can't find a clue. What does eclipse do that I don't ? Thanks

• monitoring streaming server and display throughput

  Scenario: laptop (running RHEL 5.3 / 5.4) with Wi-Fi allowing incoming connections (the laptop is the DHCP server and default gateway of any device that connects to it). The laptop has a streaming server installed (my app). I need to program an app that could monitor this link (device / streaming server) and display the throughput. More importantly, I need this app to be able to throttle the throughput. Think WANem but as an app, or netlimiter but (way) simpler and for RHEL. If you need clarifications, let me know. is there a library that could help me? i've done mostly windows business applications programming, and i have no clue about this stuff. please help me to get started!

• PHP - Setting Database Info

  First off, I'm sorry if this shows no code which is not what Stack Overflow is about..But I have no clue where to go on this. I have a basic CMS I made, and I am trying to distribute it. I want to make it so that upon going to /cms/install for example, they set the database info, and different info to integrate into the CMS. Now my issue is, what would be the best method to allow the user to store that database info? A cookie seems to not be the right way..Could I store database info inside of a database? Not too sure where to go on this. More or less. What is the best way to temporarily store the database information the user gave before arrival of the full CMS.

• Tabs.url is undefined

  I have no clue what I'm doing wrong here! This should be working I believe. I'm writing a chrome extension and this should get the current tab's url and set the html of #current-tab to the url (for testing purposes). The code successfully gets to the callback, but it says that tab.url is undefined when I put it in an alert box, and it does not put it's value in #current-tab. • Skeleton framework spacing

  I tried to ask this question late lastnight but I was so sleepy i typed the question completely wrong. I'm looking to float my navigation to the right of its current position around 200px more, there is room but it wont move over. • Having a problem with simple bool

  Hi guys, I've some really simple code that checks if my bool is == YES but it does not ever enter. But it never enters the first first part but jumps down to the 'else' I cant see for the life of me what the problem is. -.- Anybody able to clue me in? • Using Fancybox for country select in WordPress

  I am new to developing sites and just started using wordpress. I was told that I could use fancybox to help create a popup that would allow a person to select a country. • Delegate Method only Firing after 5 or so Button Presses?

  I'm having the most bizarre problem which I'm not even close to figuring out. I have a button which fires a delegate method. Once upon a time it was working fine, but after making some changes to my code, now the delegate method only fires after I push the button x amount of times (the changes I made to the code had nothing to do with the infrastructure that connects the delegate together). It varies, it can be 5 times to 10 times. I used the analyzer to check for memory leaks and there aren't any. There is too much code for me to paste here (I don't even know where to start or where the problem could be), but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before, or what could be causing it? This is very odd and have no clue what could be causing it.
