  • bash screen title usage (screen -t "something")

    I was working with screen lately and wanted to use the -t option for it. What's the point of the-t option if the title of the screen does not show anywhere like when using -list or within the screen when it's attached? There is a command CTRL-A double-quote(") to see all active screens, and then it shows the title, but that does not really do the job, because I have to have the screen attached already. I want to read out the title BEFORE attaching any screens, to attach the right one in the first place. Is there a method to use -t in a convenient way? Edit: There is one method: "ctrl-a "" and then "ctrl-a {numberofscreen}". I guess that's the best way to use the screen titles?

Sin embargo la pregunta más grande que salta siempre, es como realizarlo utilizando código Behind.   • Nautilus header bar missing -- Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 (Gnome 3.10)

    So, I recently did a fresh install of Ubuntu GNOME 13.10, added the gnome3-team/gnome3-next and gnome3-team/gnome3-staging PPA's, and upgraded to Gnome 3.10. (Also using a dual-monitor system, 1920 x 1080, Nvidia-319 driver.) Everything was running fine after the updates (including Nautilus, or "Files"), but when I opened Nautilus, at some point, the header bar was gone, and it got stuck in full-screen mode. The header is there for every other application, though. I can't resize Nautilus, I can't move it with the Alt+F7 hotkey. I can, however, make the sidebar disappear with F9 and make the program close with Alt+F4. I can also bring up the window menu with Alt+space, but the options to "resize" and "move" are greyed out, and the "Move Titlebar Onscreen" does nothing when clicked. Attempted solutions: I uninstalled, ran apt-get autoremove clean autoclean, and re-installed Nautilus, including any subsequent applications that were removed -- no fix. I installed and tried replacing the titlebar theme with Ambiance via Gnome Tweak Tool to at least restore the header/title bar -- no fix. I created a new user, logged into that, and opened Nautilus. It DID open up in the windowed mode with the header bar, but then, without my involvement, went to full-screen without the header bar. Same problem. Running "sudo nautilus" from the terminal does open it (full-screen, without header), but gives this error: (nautilus:7531): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to register client: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files Here's a screenshot of the complete Nautilus dialog box:

    Note:My question is not about Javascript. I'm developing a plugin for jQuery/Mootols/Prototype, that work with DOM. This plugin will be to improve page performance (better user experience). The plugin will be distributed to other developers so that they can use in their projects. How does the lazyload: The images are only loaded when you scroll down the page (will look like this: http://www.appelsiini.net/projects/lazyload/enabled_timeout.html LazyLoad). But he does not need HTML5, I refer to this attribute: data-src="image.jpg" Two good examples of website use LazyLoad are: youtube.com (suggested videos) and facebook.com (photo gallery). I believe that the best alternative would be to use: <A href="image.jpg">Content for ALT=""</a> and convert using javascript, for this: <IMG alt="Content for ALT=\"\"" src="image.jpg"> Then you question me: Why do you want to do that anyway? I'll tell you: Because HTML5 is not supported by any browser (especially mobile) And the attribute data-src="image.jpg" not work at all Indexers. I need a piece of HTML code to be fully accessible to search engines. Otherwise the plugin will not be something good for other developers. I thought about doing so to help in indexing: <noscript><img src="teste.jpg"></noscript> But noscript has negative effect on the index (I refer to the contents of noscript) I want a plugin that will not obstruct the image indexing in search engines. This plugin will be used by other developers (and me too). This is my question: How to make a HTML images accessible to search engines, which can minimize the requests?

I can only press on power button (physically) and restart my laptop (and this is not the correct way to do things). I'm using this laptop for work, so I need a stable OS without this freeze.   • how to get the update manager window visible?

    I can see from the launcher that the Update Manager is running - it has the little triangle by it. However, I am having trouble seeing the window. If I click on it from one desktop, it switches to another, so I assume that the Update Manager has its window on that other desktop, but it still doesn't show anything. If I click alt-tab to switch between apps, I can see that the Update Manager is there, but selecting it just shows me a blank screen. Also, when I select it, while still holding the alt-key, I see the top menu bar switch to 'Update Manager', but when I release alt, it changes back to Ubuntu Desktop. It's almost like the app is off the screen somewhere, perhaps with just a single pixel showing or something like that. disclaimer: One thing that might be affecting things is that I have 'focus follows mouse' configured, which makes things a bit funky with the menu not being on the window, where it should be (perhaps there's a way to put it back with the window?) - I like to be able to type into background windows, and manually control which window is in the foreground.

  • Connecting / disconnecting DisplayPort causes crash

    I wanted to file a bug about this using ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg-video-intel, but the system prompted my to try posting here first. So here goes :-) While the situation in Ubuntu 11.10 was still somewhat workable (see UI freezes when disconnecting DisplayPort), in 12.04 (using Unity 3D) it has gotten worse. The weird part is that during the 12.04 beta's, the situation was actually improving! I was able to successfully connect and disconnect a DisplayPort monitor without the system breaking down on me. But now with 12.04 final (with all updates), it's just plain terrible. When I now connect an external monitor using the DisplayPort connector on my HP ProBook 6550b, it only works sometimes. Most times (but not always!) the screen just goes blank and the system seems to crash (not even CTRL+ALT+F1 works anymore). Only a hard shutdown by keeping the power button pressed for several seconds and then a restart gets me out of this. I suspect the chances of the system crashing become higher as the system's uptime increases, especially when there have been one or more suspend-resume cycles (although I have also experienced this bug once from a cold boot). Disconnecting is roughly the same as with 11.10 (see issue mentioned above), with the difference that if I resume from suspend, I no longer have to do a CTRL+ALT+F1, ALT+F7 cycle to get my screen back. So what more can I try? Or should I just go ahead and file the bug anyway?

  • Gnome-shell partially freezes

    My specs: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS, Gnome3, Dell Studio laptop This is not happening all the time, but only sometimes .. totally randomly. When I'm in the middle of some work something totally weird happens. Keyboard suddenly stops working. I can't type, no matter which key I press nothing happens. I can't press Alt+Tab, I can't press Alt+F4, Alt+F2... nothing. Activities button is dead. Also right click does not work...and something even more annoying. I can click on the 'menu' in the top right corner(the menu pops up), but clicking on 'power-off' or 'suspend' option doesn't do anything. The only little thing I can do is: Close the lid of my laptop so it goes to sleep. Than wake it up again. And than it's ok. Everything works. So I guess restarting (or refreshing) gnome-shell fixes the problem. Sorry if the title of this question is odd... I don't know how to properly describe this.

So running it on raw input for the first line would produce: Hi! How are you? &lt;script&gt;//NOT EVIL!&lt;/script&gt; Now I need to escape all the input, but at the same time I need to preserve emoticons in their initial state. So when there is <:-P emoticon, it stays like that and does not become &lt;:-P. I was thinking of running a regex split on the emotified text. Then processing each part on its own and then concatenating the string together, but I am not sure how easily can Regex be bypassed? I know the format will always be this: [<img class="smiley" alt="] [empty string] [" title="] [one of the values from a big list] [, ] [another value from the list (may be matching original emoticon)] [" src="ui/emoticons/] [integer from Y to X] [.gif">] Using the list MAY be slow, since I need to run that regex on text that may have 20-30-40 emoticons. Plus there may be 5-10-15 text messages to process. What could be an elegant solution to this? I am ready to use third-party library or jQuery for this. PHP preprocessing is possible as well.

  • JSON image viewer not working in firefox

    I have tried to find out why JSON is not working in Firefox all over this forum and the internet. It works on tablets, ie, safari. It works on my desktop in firefox. It only does not work after uploading I've tried a few things (commented out), such as mimeType with no solution. I have tried using the $.ajax with no better luck. Firefox had no javascript errors. I'm using jQuery 1.7.     Sometimes when you copy text from a webpage and paste it into Word, it can be annoying when the hyperlinks transfer with it. Today we take a look at how to easily remove the hyperlinks if you don’t want them in the document. Here we will cover a few different ways you can remove hyperlinks from emails or webpage data that you enter into a Word document using Paste Special and Keyboard Shortcuts. Remove Hyperlinks in Word Using Paste Special In Word 2010 we copied part of an article from How-To Geek, as you can see the hyperlinks were copied into the document as well. To remove the hyperlinks right-click on the document and you’ll see three icons under Paste Options. We want to select the third one to the right which is Keep Text Only…the text in in the document changes so you can get a preview of how it will look. After selecting Keep Text Only, you can see the hyperlinks have been removed. However, you’ll need to change the fonts and other layouts if you’re not happy with the default of Calibri. In Office 2007 under the Home tab click the dropdown menu under Paste and select Paste Special. In the Paste Special screen select Unformatted Text then click OK. In Office 2003 copy the text into the document, hover your mouse over the clipboard, click the dropdown menu, then select Keep Text Only. Keyboard Ninja Style If you’re a Keyboard Ninja, an easy way to remove all hyperlinks is to use “Ctrl+A” to select everything, then use the key combination “Ctrl+Shift+F9”…We tested this key combination and it works in Word 2003-2010. This will remove all of the hyperlinks and keep the original format of the text. Conclusion There are several different ways to get rid of hyperlinks in text pasted into Word documents. The method you use will depend on your preference and the version of Word you’re using…but the “Ctrl+Shift+F9” keyboard shortcut works in all versions of Word and might be the easiest way. If you always want just text in Word 2007, you can disable automatically disable them.
