    I am coming from Flex where you can do just about anything inside of curly braces. I am trying to get a TextBlock to display today's Date and Time without just coding it in C#. I have tried many different variations of the following with no luck. TextBlock Text="{Source=Date, Path=Now, StringFormat='dd/MM/yyyy'}" I know I could probably just set a property MyDate and bind to that but why can't I bind directly to the DateTime.Now property?

  • Writing data over RxTx using usbserial?

    I'm using the RxTx library over usbserial on a Linux distro. The RxTx lib seems to behave quite differently (in a bad way) than how it works over serial. One of my biggest problems is that the RxTx SerialPortEvent.OUTPUT_BUFFER_EMPTY does not work on linux over usbserial. How do I know when I should write to the stream? Any indicators I might have missed? So far my experience with writing and reading concurrently have not been great. Does anyone know if I should lock the DATA_AVAILABLE handler from being invoked while I'm writing on the stream? Or RxTx accepts concurrent read/writes? Thanks in advance

I am getting the sessionid as 1. Could someone tell me what's going wrong here? I want to use this token information to pass it to the CreateProcessAsUser function from a windows service.     I have some polygon in jts topology library. if I want to draw on javafx pane I do: Polygon poly=new Polygon();//javafx //g is geometry of jts for (Coordinate coord : g.getCoordinates()) { poly.getPoints().addAll(coord.x, coord.y); } and got extra four edges that are not expected: but the same data look good in test builder: what is wrong? order of traversing the geometry? any ideas?

    I've written a couple of tests for a small web app, but I get an error when I try to run the page specific tests that makes use of WicketTester. Google sends me to a mailing list for Apache Wicket, where a user experienced the same exception.     Hi folks, following Ryan Bates Screencast #114 I'm trying to generate endless pages using prototype. In difference to Ryan's showcase my URL called via the AJAX request shall be handled dynamically, cause I do not always call the same URL when the user reaches the end of my page.   • Createing a new Index in SQL when current records don't meet that index

    Hey all- I'd like to add an index to a table that already contains data. I know that there a few records currently in the table that are not unique with this new index. Clearly, MySQL won't let me add the index until all of them are. I need a query to identify the rows which currently have the same index. I can then delete or modify these rows as necessary.   • JEditorPane scrolling to the current caret position

    I have a JEditorPane which I use to display an HTML document. the document has hyperlinks embedded in it. When a user clicks on a bookmark a position the caret to the associated place in the JeditorPane. The JeditorPane is then suppose to scroll to this position. This works mostly. But, I noticed that if the document has a lot of "break tags" (BR) tags embedded in it, the scrolling does not position the JEditorPane to right place. It's like the tags throw the callebration off. Any suggestions on what to do about this?

  • Mapkit: Only show annotations in current view

    Instead of loading all annotations that are in my array, I would only like to load the annotations that the user could currently see cased on how far they are zoomed in on the map. So, if the user pans to a place where there are annotations, those would be added, and if they pan away, those would be removed. I assume this would help with memory. Does anyone know how to do something like this? And, is it worth it, or needed?

  • Flash player "now playing list" without interrupting current song

    I am designing a website that plays music. I need a flash player that has or can handle a now playing list. The problem I am facing is that I cannot update the playlist without refreshing the player which means it will interrupt the song that is currently playing. I have trying with JW player in particular so far and have not been successful. All i am able to do is pass a playlist as an xml file but not able to update it without refreshing the playlist. Is there any other player that would better suit my needs? Is there a way i can do this with jw player itself

    Hi, Im learning rails and exploring a bit away from the book and creating a simple application with added functionality as i increase my knowledge. Im writing a simple blog application and i have a field in the form called date added, i don't want this to be a field i want it to get the date from the server and place it in to the database automatically. How would i go about doing this? I was thinking of a hidden field but then unsure on how to process the date and insert it to the hidden field. Is this the wrong way of going about things?   • Authlogic Current User Question - hiding admin links...

    I think I am missing something while using the Authlogic gem w/ Rails. To set the stage I have multiple users and each user can create posts and comments. Upon the display of a post or comment I would like to give the user who created them the option to edit or destroy.     I am trying to get the page or last directory name from a url for example if the url is: http://www.example.com/dir/ i want it to return dir or if the passed url is http://www.example.com/page.php I want it to return page Notice I do not want the trailing slash or file extension. I tried this: $regex = "/.*\.(com|gov|org|net|mil|edu)/([a-z_\-]+).*/i"; $name = strtolower(preg_replace($regex,"$2",$url)); I ran this regex in PHP and it returned nothing. (however I tested the same regex in ActionScript and it worked!) So what am I doing wrong here, how do I get what I want? Thanks!!!

  • Git push current branch to a remote with Heroku

    I'm trying to create a staging branch on Heroku, but there's something I don't quite get. Assuming I've already created a heroku app and setup the remote to point to staging-remote, If I do: git checkout -b staging staging-remote/master I get a local branch called 'staging' which tracks staging-remote/master - or that's what I thought.... But: git remote show staging-remote Gives me this: remote staging Fetch URL: [email protected]:myappname.git Push URL: [email protected]:myappname.git HEAD branch: master Remote branch: master tracked Local branch configured for 'git pull': staging-remote merges with remote master Local ref configured for 'git push': master pushes to master (up to date) As you can see, the pull looks reasonable, but the default push does not. It implies that if I do: git push staging-remote I'm going to push my local master branch up to the staging branch. But that's not what I want.... Basically, I want to merge updates into my staging branch, then easily push it to heroku without having to specify the branch like so: git push staging-remote mybranch:master The above isn't hard to do, but I want to avoid accidentally doing the previous push and pushing the wrong branch... This is doubly important for the production branch I'd like to create! I've tried messing with git config, but haven't figured out how to get this right yet...
