  • VS2010. Dropdownlist Autopostback works in IDE, not when deployed

    I have a VS2010 RC ASP.NET web page,when a user changes the drop down selection on an auto postback dropdown, it refreshes a small grid and a few labels in various places on the page. I know wrapping a whole page in a big UpdatePanel control will cause horror from many of you, but that's what I did. I really didn't want a full page refresh and I didn't know how to update a table on the client side using Javascript and I figured it would be a big change. Suggestions for avoiding this are welcomed, but my main desire is to understand teh error I am getting. When I do the auto postbacks in the IDE, everything works fine, but if I deploy the code (IIS 5.5 on XP), the second auto postback works but the seconds one gives me his error. Ajax is one big nasty blackbox to me. Can someone help, please?   • PHP script works fine until I send a parameter from HTTPService in Flash Builder 4?

    I'm using a PHP script to read an RSS feed in my Flex 4 app. The script works when I put the url of the feed in the actual script, but I can't get it to work when I try to send the URL as a parameter from a HTTPService in Flex. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?   • Junit (3.8.1) testing that an exception is thrown (works in unit test, fails when added to a testSui

    I'm trying to test that I'm throwing an exception when appropriate. In my test class I have a method similar to the following: public void testParseException() { try { ClientEntitySingleton.getInstance(); fail("should have thrown exception."); } catch (RuntimeException re) { assertEquals( "<exception message>", re.getMessage()); } } This works fine (green bar) whenever I run that single unitTest class. However, when I add that test to a testSuite, I get a red bar Unit test failure reported on the exception. One more thing... it works in the testSuite, if it's the first test in the suite. Actually, I'm doing two of these tests and just figured out that if I make them the first two tests in the suite, all is good, but I get this failure if a "regular" test precedes it. So I have a work-around, but no real answer. Any ideas?   • maven-ear-plugin works if jboss version is 4.2, but not 5. Why ?

    I am using maven to configure maven-ear-plugin. I am getting following exception when I say jboss version is 5 (See below code, under tag). I can fix this by changing the program to pass cmd by reference when calling scanf and strcmp. The segfault goes away and is replaced by warnings for each use of strcmp at compile time. Despite the warnings, the affected code works. warning: passing arg 1 of 'strcmp' from incompatible pointer type As an added bonus, modifying the scanf and strcmp calls allows the program to progress far enough to execute return(0), at which point the thing crashes with an Abort trap. If I swap out return(0) for exit(0) then everything works as expected. This leaves me with two questions: why was the original program wrong? How can I fix it better than I have? The bit about needing to use exit instead of return has me especially baffled.

    I have a ruby shell script that works perfectly on my laptop, but Dir.glob doesn't seem to work when I try and run it on my desktop. Here is the code: sFileTemplate = File.join("**", sResolutions, "**", "*."+sType) sFiles = Dir.glob(sFileTemplate) Both machines run OSX 10.5 and are running ruby -v 1.9.1. Am I calling glob wrong?     The title sums it up. I'll get this out of the way and say I am aware that css hacks are dirty ugly horrible things. Sometimes dirty problems call for dirty solutions though :) So does anyone know of a css selector hack that works for recent safari versions but is not a general webkit hack ? My site behaves properly in chrome but has a bug in safari. So if anyone knows how i can select an element to only have a certain style in safari let me know!

  • JQuery Slideout only works on one side of the page?!

    I've been working on a little slideout code and it's just been impossible. It works perfectly sliding out from the right of the page but when I reverse everything and have it slide from the left, not a chance! The exact issue is that it slides out farther than the width of it's container. Example at http://demindu.com/sandbox/slideout/. I'd certainly appreciate any tips in the right direction.

  • Why would ftp_connect() fail on production server if it works elsewhere for connecting to the same F

    I have a script that uses ftp_connect() among other FTP PHP functions for uploading a file. ftp_connect() works when executed on my local development server for connecting to a remote FTP server. The same script, when executed on the remote server does not work for connecting to the exact same FTP server. Could somebody please point me in the right direction? Thanks!
