• Android app works on emulator but not on phone ("Can't dispatch DDM chunk XXXX: no handler defined")

  Hey all, I made a very simple application to start playing around with Android development. It works fine on the emulator, but it gives me the following error when I try to install it on my HTC Hero (v1.5): Sorry!   Hello all, Can anybody suggests me any extensions for Joomla that works like Yahoo!Groups?? I needed an extensions that : 1. If i post a new subject, everybody on the subscription list get that new subject/article/post on their e-mail. 2. The subscriber/receiver of that mail, can reply it directly from their e-mail (yahoo, gmail, outlook, etc)...and, their reply shows on the website front end. Basically, like Yahoo! Groups did... I've tried "Acajoom", and "Ultimate Mailing List"....both worked great for creating a newsletter, subscription, and sending mail to all the subscriber. But i cannot reply the e-mail and showed the reply on the website, and the other receiver didn;t receive it too...so there is absolutely no interaction within the mailing list. If anyone can suggest me something, i will be very grateful Thanx!!

• jQuery .html works but .load causes some weird results.

  Hello, I am currently working on some jQuery - it works perfectly when I uses .html but when I changed the method to .load and attempt to load a page in breaks the jquery on the rest of the page. • PHP Thumbnail image generator works, but consistently awaits 90% of its loadtime! Why?

  Hi folks, This is the follow-up question from this general page load speed question. This question which will focus only, entirely and specifically on the thumbnail generator PHP code with the question: What's causing the 97% delays on these tiny thumbnails? Measuring only 3 ~ 5 kb each, this is strange indeed! Even after 7 orso bounty-rounds and 100 upvotes, the images are still doing nothing for over 97% of the time. It works allright, but it could be so much faster! ZAM, my pet robot, was so annoyed by not knowing why, he just pulled out some cords! Silly metal box... (I have asked permission from the original author, to put temporarily segments of the code online that I think could be the problem, after which I will remove all code, except the several lines that were the direct cause of this issue here to match the answer. This will be the free opportunity to perfect/speedup his otherwise already to my opinion vert versatile and userfriendly thumbnail generator.)

  I have two same databases one on SQL Server 2005 and one on SQL Server 2008, it have same SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS Collation, and full text search catalogs have the same settings. My problem is: CONTAINSTABLE on SQL Server 2008 finds nothing if query is: select * from ContainsTable(SearchIndex_7, Content, '"miljø*"') ct but SQL Server 2005 works perfectly and finds necessary record. • [OpenCV] cvFilter2D works very very slow in Ubuntu 9.10 amd64?

  Hi, has someone tried the cvFilter2D under 64bit linux? Recently when I was trying to port some code to the amd64 version of Ubuntu 9.10, I just found that the cvFilter2D works really slow. The version is Opencv 2.0. The code is as follows: CvMat *mat_src = cvCreateMat(128, 128, CV_32FC1); CvMat *mat_dest = cvCreateMat(128, 128, CV_32FC1); CvMat* mat_kernel = cvCreateMat( 25, 25, CV_32FC1); // initialization ... cvFilter2D( (CvMat*)mat_src, (CvMat*)mat_dest, (CvMat*)mat_kernel, cvPoint( (25-1)/2, (25-1)/2)); // I needs approximately 100ms to finish that... • C# testing framework that works like JUnit in Eclipse?

  Hello all, I come from a Java/Eclipse background and I fear that I am spoiled by how easy it is to get JUnit and JMock running in Eclipse, and have that GUI with the bar and pass/fail information pop up. It just works with no hassle. I see a lot of great options for testing in C# with Visual Studio. NUnit looks really nice because it contains unit and mock testing all in one. The trouble is, I can't figure out how to get the IDE display my results. The NUnit documentation seems to show that it doesn't automatically show results through the VS IDE. I found http://testdriven.net/, which seems to trumpet that is makes VS display these stats and work with multiple frameworks, but it isn't open source. Is there anyway to get unit and mock testing working with the VS IDE like it does in Java with Eclipse?

• RPC Fails but passing in SQL Man. Studios works

  I am calling a stored procedure from a web service in an ASP.Net application. And until a few days ago, all was well. However now when i call it I get an error saying The timeout period elapsed prior to the completion of the operation or the server could not be reached. However when i would run SQL SERVER PROFILER, I could see that the call was getting to the database, but was timing out. I then copied the statement being executed found at the bottom of the Profiler and pasted it into Management Studio and executed it and it finishes in about 7 seconds.. This runs just fine on our production server. It seems to be similar to this question: SELECT DISTINCT not working in .NET application, but works in SQL Mgmt Studio but I see no answer.

• Java CRTP: Works for container but not for methods?

  I have a baseclass with a protected static ArrayList. I want to have a seperate ArrayList for each kind of subclass that extends this baseclass. This is when I applied CRTP: public class BaseExample<T> { protected static ArrayList<Integer> data = new ArrayList<Integer>(); } This works just fine. However, when I try to implement the following static method in the same base class, it doesn't adhere to CRTP: public static void clear() { data.clear(); } For example: class SubExample extends BaseExample<SubExample> { // insertion methods accessing 'data' field // these work fine :) } SubExample.clear(); // does not seem to clear data container Do I need to somehow explicitly specify T in my baseclass clear method? Note: These are all pure static classes.

• Accessing an RSS feed in Flex, works when run from Flash Builder 4, but not when the project is onli

  Hey guys, In my Flex 4 app, I access an RSS feed (I'm using http://news.ycombinator.com/rss as a dummy). It works okay when I run it from Flash Builder 4, but if I export the project and upload it, I get the following error when it tries to load the RSS feed: Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: my_website_url cannot load data from http://news.ycombinator.com/rss. What could be causing this error? Shouldn't RSS be able to be accessed from anywhere? Thanks for reading.

• How to make your website works on a projector?

The HTML files produced by this software are crap. There's no one unified CSS file. The style is embedded for each element in the <div> tag and every element is positined by absolute pixels. • SVG Using Adobe in IE doesn't work when loading page, but saving the page and then loading it works.

  So I'm trying to get a SVG document to load in IE. I can see it fine, but all calls to .getSVGDocument() fail, the svg onload="onload()" function never gets called and the right-click Adobe SVG Viewer context menu doesn't show up when right-clicking on the svg. It seems as though I'm managing to crash the adobe SVG viewer or something before it is able to call the onload function but after it has drawn the SVG document. As a test I saved the html page to my hard drive and loaded it up and walla - it works! Right-click, onload, and .getSVGDocument() all work. Very curious. For some reason getting the page from the server makes the adobe plugin crap out but loading up static HTML is fine. Any thoughts?

• WindowsPhone App data connection FAILS in MarketPlace published App but WORKS in Visual Studio development (same XAP)

  Tearing my hair out(!) My last App update has been accepted and released by MarketPlace but the remote server data connection does NOT work/connect from the downloaded App (from MarketPlace). However, the same App (the accepted XAP) when I'm running it from Visual Studio, using the same remote server address works just fine. WHY!... Has anyone else ever run into anything like this? Here's the remote path: http://www.streamcommunication.com/ZenAwaken/DownloadableCollections.xml I can load that to a browser and retrieve the XML When I'm in Visual Studio I can connect via that path and retrieve the file and consume the data BUT!! The exact same XAP which has been accepted and distributed by Windows Phone marketplace FAILS. Is it possible that MarketPlace does something (encryption?) to the XAP that would corrupt the path string? Any thoughts or experiences would be very helpful! Tom

• Having trouble reading XML file from Windows server. Works on Linux

  I'm parsing an XML file in an android app. My success varies depending upon where the file is hosted. After hosting the file on 4 different servers (2 Linux, 2 Windows), I discovered that when the xml is hosted on a Linux server, the app works. When it's hosted on a Windows server, I am unable to parse correctly. Instead of reading the expected xml tags, it reads HTML tags (, , , etc). I'm not sure why it doesn't work on Windows servers, or if that is even the issue and not just a coincidence. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. • Passing along variable inside link works only on first word in multiple-word-variables, why?

  I have this code below. As you can see I am passing two variables along with the link. The second variabye (category) works whenever it consists of one word, but some categories are two words or more, and then on the receiving php page where I fetch the variable only the first word is fetched. Any ideas?   Java generates a proxy class for a given interface and provides the instance of the proxy class. But when we type cast the proxy object to our specific Object, how java handles this internally? Is this treated as special scenario? For example I have class 'OriginalClass' and it implements 'OriginalInterface', when I create proxy object by passing 'OriginalInterface' interface java created proxy class 'ProxyClass' using methods in the provided interface and provides object of this class(i.e ProxyClass). If my understanding is correct then can you please answer following queries 1) When I type cast object of ProxyClass to my class OriginalClass this works, but how java is allowing this? Same in case of instace of? 2) As my knowledge java creates a proxy class only with the methods, but what happen when I try to access attributes on this object? 3) Only interface methods are getting implemented in Proxy, but what happens when I try to access a method which not in interface and only mentioned in the class? • CakePHP Permissions, works fine on local server, but fails after upload.

  I created a website with CakePHP, set up all of the permissions so guests could view certain parts, and members only in certain areas, all with an administration panel. Whenever I test this on my local testing server, it works perfectly, if I login I can view the content, if I logout, I can't. However, when I upload exactly the same files and upload and import the database, it fails to work, it just disallows all member access regardless of if you're logged in or not, this even applies to administrators. I'm not sure what's going on here, any help would be appreciated. If you need any more information, just ask. Regards, Alz454.

• JQuery tools overlay opens at the top of page instead of overlaying in IE, works fine in FF/Chrome

  Here is the sandbox version of my site: http://3.latest.truxmapper.appspot.com/ To reproduce the error, hover over to the toolbar and go to Support -- FAQ. In Chrome/FF, this will work as expected. In IE, the background image will quickly move to the center of the page, but when its time to insert the div over the background image, its inserted on top of the page rather than the center of the page. The plugin example ( http://flowplayer.org/tools/overlay/apple.html ) works fine in IE, so i know it ought to be possible. I've tried messing around with the div placement on the html and with the css to no avail. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks!
