    I have a working Python 2.6 install and just installed the PyQt4 built for Python 2.6 (available at http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/software/pyqt/download). When I try to import PyQt4.QtGui I get the following error: ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified procedure could not be found. I'm on Windows 2k8 64-bit, but my Python install is 32-bit.

    When building an Eclipse plugin (lato sensu) which consists of multiple plugins and one feature, I have two ways of specifying dependencies: in the plugins themselves, using Require-Bundle and Import-Package in META-INF/MANIFEST.MF; in the feature.xml file from the feature. In my understanding, it should be enough to declare the dependencies at the lower level, i.e. in the plugins. Why do we still have the feature.xml requires mechanism?

I'm using the SMTP module to relay emails through an SMTP gateway (required by the hosting provider), but every once in a while the connection is refused - probably due to the gateway being too busy.

    Hey i'm using JSON with appengine. I'm using json for comunication, so in the python side i have import json the error i'm getting is this: <class 'django.core.exceptions.ViewDoesNotExist'>: Could not import views.ganttapp. Error was: No module named json In my stand alone this works great, is there any problem with json on the app engine? or should I use another module?   • Can't import matplotlib

    I installed matplotlib using the Mac disk image installer for MacOS 10.5 and Python 2.5. I installed numpy then tried to import matplotlib but got this error: ImportError: numpy 1.1 or later is required; you have 2.0.0.dev8462. It seems to that version 2.0.0.dev8462 would be later than version 1.1 but I am guessing that matplotlib got confused with the ".dev8462" in the version. Is there any workaround to this?

    UPDATE 23 Dec I had the problem where Zend Framework complains about "No default module defined for this application". I didn't use Modules and the main app works fine. I finally solved the problem with the help from weierophinney.net Your bootstrap needs to minimally set the controller directory -- do a call to $this->frontController->addControllerDirectory(...) in your appBootstrap() method. I didn't in my example, as my Initialization plugin does that sort of thing for me. The problem is solved by adding the below to setUp() $this->getFrontController()->setControllerDirectory(APPLICATION_PATH . '/controllers'); But now, I have afew other questions: 1. Why does that value not get initialized by application.ini? In application.ini, I have [production] resources.frontController.controllerDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/controllers" [testing : production] // didn't change anything regarding modules nor controllers 2. I tried setting the controllerDirectory in bootstrap.php of my unit test, but it does not work $front = Zend_Controller_Front::getInstance(); $front->setControllerDirectory(APPLICATION_PATH . '/controllers'); The only way that works is using setUp(). Why is that? END UPDATE 23 Dec I am getting the above error when unit testing my controller plugins. I am not using any modules. in my bootstrap.php for unit testing, I even tried adding $front = Zend_Controller_Front::getInstance(); $front->setDefaultModule('default'); But it still does not work.     The __debug__ variable is handy in part because it affects every module. If I want to create another variable that works the same way, how would I do it? The variable (let's be original and call it 'foo') doesn't have to be truly global, in the sense that if I change foo in one module, it is updated in others. I'd be fine if I could set foo before importing other modules and then they would see the same value for it.

    I'm trying to use cocoa-python with Xcode but it always calls up the error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "main.py", line 10, in <module> import objc ImportError: No module named objc This seems to be because dispite all my attempts to install or find objc and the other modules used by that file, they are simply not on my computer that I can tell, so does anyone know where I can download the actual files (or could put up their own copies?) as in objc.py, Foundation.py, AppKit.py and PyObjCTools.py?
