  I'm dealing with a server running SQL Server 2000 SP1, and the logical filenames for one of the databases appear to contain trailing spaces. That is, this query: select replace(name, ' ', 'X') from sysfiles Returns the expected names plus a long string of Xs. How can I deal with this? I've tried running ALTER DATABASE... MODIFY FILE using the name (with and without spaces) and get an error message telling me the file does not exist.

• Give the www user chmod permissions

  Ive got a website (run on Ubuntu Server) that needs to modify and delete files, every now and again it comes across a file that it needs to run "chmod" on in order to perform it's operations. However it seems as tho the 'www' user does not have permission to run 'chmod' on any files. So I'm looking for the command to allow the 'www' user to do its thing on files inside the /var/www folder and also the /var/logs folder for example. Thanks.

  I have my job IMAP account set up in TB 3.0.3. It's becoming very annoying that in group emails where I'm in the CC or TO list I hit "Reply To All" and I find myself in the recipients list. So when I send the email I also get a copy of my own email. I haven't found where to disable or modify this. This doesn't happen with my Gmail account (also set up in TB)

There is nothing I can do to modify the software on either end; but everything in between is fair game. (routing, windows or linux software, firewall tricks, ...)   In Aquamacs 2.0 preview 6, when opening new files externally (e.g., via Quicksilver or via dragging files on the Aquamacs icon) they always open in new frames (i.e., new windows). I would prefer new files to be opening in the same frame, just in a new buffer (possibly with tabs turned on). I already unchecked the option "Show Buffers in new Frames", but that only seems to affect the behavior of the built-in open command (Command-o). Are there any options for this or some other way to modify this behavior?

• Complete stack traces from Hyperic

  I've setup Hyperic to run on our CI-machine, and every once in a while it reacts to some random stack trace and sends of an alert. So far so good, we've caught a lot of intermittent bugs that way. My only issue is that the alert only contains the first error line and not the entire stack trace, which requires me to access the machine and look at the logs manually. Is there any way to modify the alert message to contain more information, alternatively to include the log file in the alert mail?

  I recently purchased an Acer Aspire Timeline 3810TZ notebook. It comes equipped with 2 modes, one for power saving (screen is dimmer, etc) and another for when connected to a power source. However, I'd like to control the settings for power save mode (specifically to make the screen a bit brighter) but the system didn't seem to ship with an app installed to modify these settings. Browsing the support site proved unsuccessful also. Anything out there I can do to control the notebook's power save settings?

  Hi! I'd like to know if there's a possibility in Win7, to simply drag folder to the taskbar (which, afaik cannot be done in normal way) and display it's contents using jump list. Example: You drag desktop folder to the taskbar, and jumplist, is it's contents. I know about applications like JumpLaunch, but I do not want to manually modify anything in order to display folder contents.

  I'm fed up with Vegas, Premiere, Pinnacle, SoundForge and all of the other editors I've tried. I'm trying to modify the audio of an AVI file, but all of the editors I've tried insist on re-encoding the video when I save the changes, and either reduce the quality or take hours. Is there a way to just extract the audio stream from a video with ffmpeg, edit it in an audio editor and then recombine the saved changes with the video?

Basically, i have a mercurial repository with numerous branches for stable, development, experimental features etc....
