  • Axis2 with OpenEJB error on Tomcat

    Hi, I deployed on Tomcat Axis2 and OpenEjb and got the error. If deploy either only axis2 or openejb, they works properly, but when deploy them together, Axis2 can't be deployed, but OpenEjb is available. Could anybody help with this problem, please?   • iPhone app works hundreds of times, then crashes from memory error on startup, then never works unti

    I have a Cocos2d/openGL iPhone game. It's a universal app and I'm dealing with an occasional but nasty error on the iPad. We are loading a lot of textures up front (3 2048x2048 textures). I'm working on reducing this up front load, but what worries me is I really don't understand the root cause of this crash that permanently breaks the app. This is the deal: 1. App works fine for hundreds of plays on the iPad 2. Eventually (I'm guessing due to other programs using up some memory and not letting go or whatever) the app starts crashing on startup. It just closes again in the middle of loading. 3. The App will now never work again on that iPad, closing immediately every time, until the iPad is restarted. Obviously my app is demanding too much memory up front to work reliably every time, I get that. What I don't get is why when it fails once, it has failed forever until the iPad is restarted. Can anyone explain what is going on here? EDIT: forgot to add organizer crash lags just say low memory, like this every time (I changed my app name to MyAppName below).   • Hard drive and DVD drive are not being detected by the BIOS

    My hard drive and DVD drive are not being detected by the BIOS when I go in to the boot option menu by pressing F12. When I put the hard drive in a different computer it's being detected. I am assuming it's either the mother board or the BIOS. Since the HDD is not being detected I have installed Ubuntu on a flash drive, but even that has become so slow, that it takes around 5 minutes for it to boot. I want to flash the BIOS before I think of changing the motherboard. I have downloaded the updated file and it has a flash.bat and a afudos.exe. I have to run the .bat file. I downloaded the Dos in a box and went to the DOS directory where the .bat file is and tried to run it, but it gives me the error message "This program cannot run under this operating system" Any help would be appreciated

    I am trying to automate the encryption of files on a windows server using a .bat file I created. As long as the filename is hardcoded in the .bat file this works. I want to encrypt numerous files using this .bat file but files are not encrypted when I use wildcards in the filename like filename.txt. I've been trying various version of the following command at the DOS prompt to no avail. All attempts have returned syntax for usage. C:\gpg -v --batch -- yes --always-trust -e -r <encryption-key> *part-of-the-file-name* usage: gpg [options] --encrypt [filename] I received the same usage message with this command: C:\gpg -v --batch -- yes --always-trust -e -r --encrypt part-of-the-file-name I tried without the -v and some of the other options and I still received the same message. I have spent hours today searching the internet for an answer and I can't find one anywhere? Please help.

I wrote in C# an application that calculates something (lets call it cl.exe) I created a .bat file that starts the cl.exe. I want to call that .bat file from my javascript so I WShell.Run(**.bat). 2 question: The javascript program will not continue till the cl.exe will end ? (It is synchronized ?) The cl.exe returns a value. How can the javascript take it (It is a javascript program that call .bat file that wrapp the execution of the cl.exe) ? Thanks

  • How do I prevent Eclipse from hanging on startup?

    I am using Eclipse 3.3 ("Europa"). Periodically, Eclipse takes an inordinately long time (perhaps forever) to start up. The only thing I can see in the Eclipse log is: !ENTRY org.eclipse.core.resources 2 10035 2008-10-16 09:47:34.801 !MESSAGE The workspace exited with unsaved changes in the previous session; refreshing workspace to recover changes. Googling reveals someone's suggestion that I remove the folder: workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\.root\.indexes This does not appear to have helped. Short of starting with a new workspace (something which I am not keen to do, as it takes me hours to set up all my projects again properly), is there a way to make Eclipse start up properly?

  • Silverlight authentication during startup - how to mimic syncronous behavior?

    I have a Silverlight app that is using the MVVM pattern. I have a WCF service which will allow me to authenticate users (I don't have direct control over that service - assume it is a black box that just returns me the user info and a list of privileges the user has). So, when the app starts up, I want to pull security data from that service. Right now, when I do this, my views and view models can end up getting initialized before the service returns with the security data. This causes problems because the view models need to disable buttons and make things visible/invisible based on the user having certain privileges. Is there a pattern that allows me to prevent the initialization of the views / view models until the WCF call has returned? How would you go about solving this problem as elegantly as possible?

  • What is a reasonly priced map API solution for a startup?

    I've been developing my application with Google Maps and the wonderful rails plugin for it, expecting to find that when I put my app into production that the commercial licensing wouldn't be too expensive. Then I found out it cost $10,000/year, no exceptions so far. http://www.47hats.com/2009/07/google-maps-the-10k-gotcha/ That's not a terrible price to pay for unlimited usage when your site becomes successful, but for those of us trying to build something from the ground up, that's a hefty price to pay. I've looked at Bing and Yahoo but they're very wishy-washy with what ballpark the pricing is. That on top of the fact I have to ditch my nice rails plugin YM4R for Google maps... Is anyone out there using a map API solution that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get started with in a commercial aspect? I don't mind not using a plugin, I just need something that will work and is cost affordable in the beginning.

    I'm interested in a function of two word lists, which would return an order agnostic edit distance between them. That is, the arguments would be two lists of (let's say space delimited) words and return value would be the minimum sum of the edit (or Levenshtein) distances of the words in the lists. Distance between "cat rat bat" and "rat bat cat" would be 0. Distance between "cat rat bat" and "fat had bad" would be the same as distance between "rat bat cat" and "had fat bad", 4. In the case the number of words in the lists are not the same, the shorter list would be padded with 0-length words.     I'm trying to remap my CapsLock key to Ctrl key as described here (adding /usr/bin/setxkbmap -option "ctrl:nocaps" command to "Session and Startup"-"Application Autostart"). But this doesn't work in Xubuntu 12.04. When I'm running the same command (/usr/bin/setxkbmap -option "ctrl:nocaps") from terminal everything works as expected. If I change command to: sh -c "/usr/bin/setxkbmap -option \"ctrl:nocaps\"" it again works if I'm running it from terminal, but it doesn't work if I add it to xfce "Session and Startup" configurator. Also when I create a script like this: #!/bin/sh /usr/bin/setxkbmap -option "ctrl:nocaps" and add it to startup via "Session and startup" configurator, it has no effect at all. But if I run this script after login it actually remaps caps key as expected.

But if I reboot the machine, iscsi starts, but does not even search for targets. I have to manually restart it before it works. Any ideas how to make it find the target on boot?

  • Any way to have delayed_job execute some run-once code at startup and use across all jobs?

    So I've got a delayed_job task that pushes some info to an XMPP server. Ideally you create a connection to XMPP once and then constantly push data to it, rather than creating a new connection every time you have some data to send. Is there any kind of facility in delayed_job for running a sort of 'setup' method when a worker starts, have it set some instance variables (like the XMPP connection object) that can then be used by all the jobs that come up? It's okay if each worker runs its own setup method. I just don't want every job (thousands per day) connecting to the XMPP server from scratch every time. Thanks for any help!

    A design question: I'd like to build a Windows service that executes different commands at different intervals. For simplicity's sake, let's say I want to run some batch files. The input it gets is a list of files and the intervals at which to execute. For example: a.bat - 4 minutes b.bat - 1 minute c.bat - 1 minute d.bat - 2 minutes I was thinking about sorting them according to intervals, and then setting a timer for each of the intervals. I'm not sure this is the best solution and I'd be happy to hear some feedbacks. Thanks!
