• It's raining development VirtualBox images again!

• Crawling a Content Folio

  Content Folios in WebCenter Content allow you to assemble, track, and access a logical group of documents and/or links.  It allows you to manage them as just a list of items (simple folio) or organized as a hierarchy (advanced folio).  The built-in UI in content server allows you to work with these folios, but publishing them or consuming them externally can be a bit of a challenge.   The folios themselves are actually XML files that contain the structure, attributes, and pointers to the content items.  So to publish this somewhere, such as a Site Studio page, you could perhaps use an XML parser to traverse the structure and create your output.  But XML parsers are not always the easiest or most efficient to use.  In order to more easily crawl and consume a Content Folio, Ed Bryant - Principal Sales Consultant, wrote a component to do just that.  His component adds a service which does all the work for you and returns the folio structure as a simple resultset.  So consuming and publishing that folio on a Site Studio page or in your portal using RIDC is a breeze!  For example, let's take an advanced Content Folio example like this: If we look at the native file, the XML looks like this: But if we access the folio using the new service - http://server/cs/idcplg?IdcService=FOLIO_CRAWL&dDocName=ecm008003&IsPageDebug=1 - this is what the result set looks like (using the IsPageDebug parameter). Given this as the result set, it makes it very easy to consume and repurpose that folio. You can download a copy of the sample component here. • 3D Display Issue When Using Latest Java Runtime Versions - Patch now available...

  Typically I focus my blog posts on Support process topics, and reserve most of the technical topics for the Support newsletter. This topic, however, warrants a quick mention in the blog since I know it's been affecting many users recently. For customers using the Client/Server Deployment of AutoVue, users that had upgraded their client Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to version 1.6.0_19 or later suddenly noticed that their 3D files were opening blank in AutoVue. This issue was due to a change in JRE version 1.6.0_19, and the AutoVue team now offers a patch to address the issue in AutoVue version 20.0.0. The patch number is 10268316, is available through the My Oracle Support portal, and is described further in KM Note 1104821.1. We'll mention it again in our next Support newsletter, and the AutoVue team will target to roll the same fix into the next available release of the product.

Development phase: Where can he build his team to work on this project? Yet deployed phase: Where can he schedule tasks, assign tickets and bugs to be solved? and the list can go on... • Can third party content on sub-domains harm the main site's search rankings?

  I have a site that is a "portal" or "directory" for service providers. We opened every service provider's own page on our site, but now we get a lot of applications from those providers that want sites from their own. We want to make a full site for every service provider, but rather put them on sub domain URLs. (They don’t mind, it's OK for them.) So, my site is www.exaple.com Their site will be: provider.example.com Now I have two questions: Can the content on the provider sites harm my site in SEO? If one from those sub domains is punished by Google because the owner does "black hat SEO", how it will affect the rood domain? Can it make the root domain get punished?

  With Jason Lee's NetBake plugin (https://bitbucket.org/jdlee/netbake), when you've installed JRuby and then the Asciidoctor gem, you're good to go to use Asciidoctor with NetBeans IDE. New Asciidoc files can be created, which have a Source view... ...and a Visual view. The current content of the text editor is parsed by the Asciidoctor gem and the resulting HTML is displayed in a JEditorPane: Awestruct support is also part of the NetBake plugin, with a new project type and other related features. An Options window is included for configuring the plugin: I've been in touch with Jason and we're discussing separating the Asciidoctor parts from the Awestruct parts and then putting them seperately as plugins on the NetBeans Plugin Portal.

• TFS vs. Star Team comparison

  I have a sales call today in which the person that I am talking to is interested in what TFS would give them over Star Team, The first thing I believe that I can say is that TFS is cheaper! Especially if you are doing MSFT development already and your team members have MSDN subscriptions as the CALs for TFS are covered in the MSDN subscription. The other thing that I noticed about Star Team was all of the references to ‘readiness’ and ‘integration’. While that is great, that means that other tools will be needed to provide the features that are already bundled with TFS like, SharePoint integration, as well as Analysis Services and Reporting Services to provide visibility on the web with reports on project health, and team velocity. • sending credential to linkedIn website and get oauth_verifier without sign in again

  i am facing problem regarding sending credentials to other website and after login(automatically not clicked on sign in here) and get oauth_verifier value Detail is bellow.... I want to send emailaddress and password through form(submit button)from my website(i.e liferay portal) to another website(suppose linkedIn) it should automatically authorize and return oauth_verifier to my website. that mean i dont want my website user to submit emailaddress and password to linkedIn again. actually i want to take emailaddress and password in my website and show the user LinkedIn connection,message,job posting in my website it self,i dont want to redirect user to LinkedIn website and sign in there and again come back to my website. I have taken consumer key and secret key from LinkedIn for my aplication. i am using linkedIn api and getting oauth_verifier for access token but for that i have to take user to LinkedIn for signIn, actually it should happen in backend

• Sub domain on root domain

  I have a site, actually a "portal"/ "directory" for service providers. Now, for start, we opened every service provider own page on our site, but now we get a lot of applications from those providers that thy want sites from their own. We want to make every service provider his own site, but on sub domain url. ( they don’t mind… its ok for them) So, my site is www.exaple.com There site will be: provider.exaple.com Now I have two questions: can it harm my site in SEO? if one from those sub domain , punished by Google because is owner do "black hat seo" , how it will affect the rood domain? It can make the root domain to get punished?
