• Is there an easy way to get the ServerName in Symfony?

  I have been searching for an easy way to get the ServerName of the machine where Symfony runs in Symfony (so that my app adapts when it is used on a host with a different ServerName), but I couldn't find one. I created a variable in app.yml and I fetch it, but I still wonder if there is no easier way to do this. How are you doing this? I'm using Symfony 1.2 and 1.4 on different projects.

I love Java and some of the newer JVM languages but at the same time I really enjoy low-level system programming under Unix, using C and the GNU toolchain (it makes you feel elitist ;-)).   I wonder if UIScrollView has got an "hidden" subview acting as an container for the content. If I scroll a scroll view, is that content view moved up/down in the scroll view? Or is the scrolling offset applied to the bounds of that UIScrollView instance? Or: Does UIScrollView use an additional view as container, or is all content added directly to the view? The documentation doesn't tell much about wether it has a content container or not.

  jQuery has the very cool feature/method ".data", i wonder if there is a way to have the data in the code so that jQuery can use it when the rendering of html is done. Suppose i have a repeater and looping out children, and i want to add some data to those children without using classes etc. Will i have to add javascript to that repeater just to add stuff to the "data of jquery" or is there some better way?

  Hi Everyone As everybody knows the en-US Keyboard-layout is the best one for programming. So I'd like to use it in my IDEs. But since I live in a non-en-US country I need the de-CH layout for all other applications. Now I wonder if it is possible to set the layout depending to which application currently has the focus.
