    It seems like a lot of people here and on many programmer wikis/blogs/ect. elsewhere really dislike VSS. A lot of people also have a serious dislike for cvs. In many places I have heard a lot of differing opinions on whether or not using VSS or cvs is better or worse then using no source control, please rate the worst and explain why!!!!! you rated them this way. Feel free to throw in your own horrible system in the rankings. If you feel it depends on the circumstances try to explain the some of the different scenarios which lead to different rankings. (note:I see a lot of discussion of what is better but little of what is worse.) second note: while both answers are nice I'm looking less for good replacements and more for a comparison of which is worse and more importantly why!

    If my command line is: > prog --mylist=a,b,c Can Boost's program_options be setup to see three distinct argument values for the mylist argument? I have configured program_options as: namespace po = boost::program_options; po::options_description opts("blah") opts.add_options() ("mylist", std::vector<std::string>>()->multitoken, "description"); po::variables_map vm; po::store(po::parse_command_line(argc, argv, opts), vm); po::notify(vm); When I check the value of the mylist argument, I see one value as a,b,c. I'd like to see three distinct values, split on comma. This works fine if I specify the command line as: > prog --mylist=a b c or > prog --mylist=a --mylist=b --mylist=c Is there a way to configure program_options so that it sees a,b,c as three values that should each be inserted into the vector, rather than one? I am using boost 1.41, g++ 4.5.0 20100520, and have enabled c++0x experimental extensions.

    HI I'd like to know how to check out the speed of a file being uploaded in real time using the curl library in c++. This is what I have written: curl_easy_getinfo(curl,CURLINFO_SPEED_UPLOAD,&c); But the manual says that it shows average speed, but even this doesn't seem to work with me, because I can only see a 0. There is one more thing: How to set an upload limit that works, because if I write this: curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_MAX_SEND_SPEED_LARGE, 100); I get an error 502 message plis help

  • Drupal - editing tab options for a content type not showing up

    I'm working on a D5 site and a lot of the content types have the menus at the top of the edit page. Examples: Overview | Grants | Dev load | Dev render | Edit | Revisions | Track | Workflow Overview | Dev load | Dev render | Edit | Revisions | Track | Workflow | Node queue | RelatedContent I'm not sure where these tabs come from, but I need to enable the menu for a content type that doesn't have them visible. I checked the workflow setting and the content type in question was specified to use workflow. So there should be at least another tab in addition to edit. The end goal is to have revisions show up in the menu, but I need to get the menu showing first. Any ideas where to start looking?

  • Structure accessible by attribute name or index options

    I am very new to Python, and trying to figure out how to create an object that has values that are accessible either by attribute name, or by index. For example, the way os.stat() returns a stat_result or pwd.getpwnam() returns a struct_passwd. In trying to figure it out, I've only come across C implementations of the above types. Nothing specifically in Python. What is the Python native way to create this kind of object? I apologize if this has been widely covered already. In searching for an answer, I must be missing some fundamental concept that is excluding me from finding an answer.

    Can I have text in the background of a jQuery UI progress bar? You know the kind I'm talking about don't you? The kind that where color:white because the progress bar is over it, and color:black because the progress bar hasn't reached it yet. I think I've seen that type of effect while installing software. Also, what about a background-image, which works, except that it is totally covered up by the progress bar? I'd like for the progress bar itself to be a little bit transparent.

  • Redirect .html but not .html?with=options

    I'm currently using an .htaccess to get round a problem with a CMS, nothing major and an htaccess fix is tidy enough. I'm currently using the format... redirect 301 /pictures.html http://www.domain.com/gallery.html The problem though this causes is that the CMS uses pictures.html?vars=here to select galleries and so the redirect breaks this part of it. Is there any way I can redirect pictures.html but not when it has variables attached?

    I'm using custom WordPress categories for some probably unintended functions, I will admit (things like marking a post no/index just by adding it to my custom "no-index" category, etc). But it sucks that WordPress does not enable pages with all the little extras you get with posts. For example, while the post editor gives you convenient access to Tags, Categories, and a Post excerpt field, pages get left out in the cold. I'd like to know if its possible to add the These items to the Post editor via add_action() directive from a custom theme.

    I'm trying to output the results of a SELECT query to a tab delimited text file in Advantage Data Architect. I know I can use the 'Export to' feature to do this, but there are a lot of tables and that is going to take forever. I would rather use the SQL editor, but I found out it does not accept the OUTPUT TO argument, even though that command is part of Sybase SQL. I would like to do this: SELECT * FROM tablename; OUTPUT TO 'C:/ExportDirectory' DELIMITED BY '\t' FORMAT TEXT; Is there another way?

    Hi Everyone? I am trying to add a select box to the base of my create form that decides if an action runs from the controller...if that makes any sense? Basically the application creates a project in FreeagentCentral whenever a new project is made: def create @company = Company.find(params[:kase][:company_id]) @kase = @company.kases.create!(params[:kase]) respond_to do |format| params[:send_to_freeagent] ? @kase.create_freeagent_project(current_user) #flash[:notice] = 'Case was successfully created.' flash[:notice] = fading_flash_message("Case was successfully created.", 5) format.html { redirect_to(@kase) } format.xml { render :xml => @kase, :status => :created, :location => @kase } end end and within my form I have: <%= check_box_tag :send_to_freeagent, 1 % Create project in Freeagent? What I would like to happen, is if the select box is checked the project is sent to Freeagent. If not, the case just gets created locally as normal but without the Freeagent data being sent. If I use the above code, I get an exception caught error: SyntaxError in KasesController#new controllers/kases_controller.rb:114: syntax error, unexpected '\n' Any idea what I am doing wrong, also is it possible to make the check boxes checked as default?     About fonts and colors in the VS2010 C# text editor with Resharper installed. In the following method: public void Method() { var lis = new System.Collections.ArrayList(); var exc = new System.NotImplementedException(); } ArrayList gets another color as NotImplementedException in the VS2010 text editor, because I edited the color scheme. What would be the difference in these kinds of types so that the color scheme handles them differently? Note that I have Resharper installed but I also tried almost all Resharper entries. I would like to have the ame color for both, but the color of the NotImplementedException type seems immutable.

  • Preferred Options for Webservice to Android

    I need to get an Android app to interface with an XML webservice (it's really just a request which returns XML), but as the data is large and includes some things I don't need (like a huge description block), I was thinking of transforming it via a server into a format that would be good for Android, and also to be reduced considering it will be used in a low bandwidth area. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good lightweight protocol? I'm especially thinking about libraries for Android that already exist for say REST or even delimited data.

  • Multiple Payment options within the same order

    I have a requirement to be able to accept different forms of payment within the same order - ie not just the usual credit card or paypal for the whole thing, but perhaps paypal for one item, cheque for another. I know this sounds quite crazy, but there is a good business reason for the requirement so I can't just push back. The best way I can think of implementing it at the moment is to have kind of a hub page, where you can "launch off" into multiple flows for each of the payments by opening new windows. I can't figure out a way of doing this in a linear flow as for example you can't guarantee that a user will come back from paypal, so you'd then lose the user completely. Is there a neater way of doing this that anyone can think of, or can anyone point me to an example of a site that does somethign similar for inspiration?
