• Any way to create a hidden main window in C#?

  I just want a c# application with a hidden main window that will process and respond to window messages. I can create a form without showing it, and can then call Application.Run() without passing in a form, but how can I hook the created form into the message loop? Is there another way to go about this? Thanks in advance for any tips!

• Updating web.config revert previous updates

  Hi, I've a SPJob Scheduled with a package (wsp) installation which update web.config and a Application Page which also build to update web.config. The problem is when I install the package it successfully update the web.config. I've confirmed the changes. Now, when we go to our Application Page which also successfully update the web.config but I lost the changes made during package installation. Any idea what would I be doing wrong? Thanks.

• CSS to position text based on Top of text?

  When I change the size of a font in CSS, how do I make it so no matter what size the font is (from 12px to 200px), that the "Cap Height" (pic) of the text will always 'visually' have 10px padding on top? Otherwise what I'm doing is every time I change the font size, I have to go back and reposition the top/margin-top etc.

  When I build Rails applications I find myself doing the same things over and over again. This includes adding the same gems/plugins, configuration info and custom initializers, rake tasks etc... etc.... This can't be a good thing. So, is there a way to package all this repetitive code into some sort of project template ... so that I can do a "rails myapp" and have everything good to go from there?   Hi, Let's say that I have created a WCF proxy from a WCF service (which is configured with wsHttpBinding) using Add Service (in Visual Studio 2008).   I just got a bug report from someone running an app I wrote under Windows XP. He says it won't start up. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application. It works fine at my end, (under Windows 7,) and I don't have any Win7- or Vista-specific stuff in the program, so it should work on XP too. How do I go about tracking this down and debugging it?

  I tried to find out how to move my working copy. I know SVN move can be used to move files and folders inside your working copy but what about the working copy itself? I want to move it because I created a branch in a folder location that's different from my branch and had updated therefore all my .NET project references. So when I go to merge back to the mainline trunk I get a bunch of tree conflicts.

• Redirect in Application_Error redundant if using customErrors?

  If I have a customErrors section in my Web.config that says to redirect to Error.html, then putting code in the Application_Error method in the Global.asax to redirect to Error.html is redundant is it not? Technically, I could bypass the Web.config by redirecting to a different page in the Application_Error method if I wanted to, but since I don't want to go to a separate page I don't think I need the code.
