  • How to run node.js app on port 80? Are processes blocking my port?

    I believe the port 80 on my remote instance is blocked, and I am trying to run a node.js app using port 80. I have experimented with ports 3000 and 3002, and both ports are working fine, but I get an error when running on port 80. I suspect port 80 is blocked from my output of netstat -an below, but how can I find the process id's of the addresses that are blocking port 80 below?   • Where is custom icon information stored in Mac OS X Snow Leopard?

    I have an external Lacie hard drive connected via USB to my Macbook Pro which is running Snow Leopard. I have nothing but music on the external drive with every album sorted in it's own individual folder and have changed all of the individual folder icons to display the album art of the songs from the album inside. I want to reformat my laptop, but I'm afraid if I do that, the album art will disappear if it's stored on a system file within the main hard drive OS. My question is this, is the information which tells the OS to display the album art listed in a hidden system file on the external Lacie drive or my laptop hard drive and if I reformat will I have to reassociate all of the album art to the folders on the external or will it keep it's associations.     Hello, some files on Mac OS X (such as .bundle or .mpkg) are considered directories in Windows, but can be used as files on Mac OS X (if you double-click them on Mac OSX, they execute for example), so the problem I have is that I want Mac users to download a .mpkg file from my server, but the problem is IIS considers it a directory and therefore you can't download it. How can I let IIS treat this .mpkg as a file instead of a directory? Thanks!

  • Which app has a notification sound with 3 descending notes?

    Brand new Windows 7 box loaded with the usual dev tools -- VS2008, Firefox, Chatzilla, Thunderbird, emacs, Pidgin, Putty, iTunes, SharpReader. Every couple of minutes, I get an audio notification consisting of three rising notes, maybe a middle-C-G-F on a piano (I don't have a piano handy, and don't have time to use GarageBand to try to figure it out). Nothing in the notification bar is flashing when this happens. The sound isn't in any of the Windows Sound control panel applets. And it's not in C:\Windows\Media, so it's most likely coming from a non-Microsoft app. Any chance it's Pidgin when the status one of my contact's changes (which happens plenty frequently)? Oh, look at this --- Tools/Mute Sounds. Let's try that and see what happens... Is this familiar to anyone?

  • Can Safari 5.1 for Mac OS display favicons for bookmarks in the Bookmarks Bar?

    When bookmarking a web site, most contemporary browser will display the site's favicon next to the bookmark, both in the bookmark view and the bookmark toolbar. This is a useful feature. In the bookmark toolbar you can edit the name of the bookmark to be blank, effectively leaving the favicon there as an easily identifiable "button" from which to launch the bookmark. This allows you to make more effective user of the space in the bookmark toolbar. I use this approach effectively in Firefox, Chrome, and IE. For example, here is a portion of my Bookmarks Toolbar from Firefox: However, in Safari, no favicon is ever displayed for bookmarks. In the full bookmark view only a generic globe icon is displayed. In the Bookmark Bar in Safari, no icon at all is displayed. Which means the habit of removing the bookmark name & leaving the favicon is useless. Here's what the same configuration (synced between browsers via Xmarks) looks like in Safari. That blank space is where the favicons should be. The boomark is there -- if you hover over it, the blank space changes color to indicate the presence of a bookmark and a tool tip will with the URL will pop up after about two seconds. However, it's really quite unusable. So. The question: is there an extension, plug-in, or modification of some sort that will enable the display of favicons for bookmarks in Safari (OS X Lion 10.7.3 , Safari version 5.1.3)?

I set up in /usr/share/nginx/www/firstapp one application and in /usr/share/nginx/www/secondapp. in my default conf i setup that in / root localization i want first app: when write 9.9.9.9 in browser show me first app, and when i write 9.9.9.9/makeup, there not show me seccond app. Why first app displays me good, and seccondapp cannot?   • How Can I Disable CRL Checks For A Windows 2008 App Using WinHTTP?

    I've got a Windows 2008 server with an app that uses WinHTTP for SSL sessions. The server is isolated from the internet but still tries to connect to CRL distribution points, which leads to some timeouts. Since the server has no access to the internet whatsoever, I'd like to disable CRL checks. I had a similar issue on a Windows 2003 server and resolved it by adjusting the following registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Http/Parameters/SslBindiongInfo/0.0.0.0:443/DefaultSslCertCheckMode (DWORD=1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Rasman/PPP/EAP/13/NoRevocationCheck (DWORD = 1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Rasman/PPP/EAP/13/NoRootRevocationCheck (DWORD = 1) That doesn't seem to be working in 2008. I've also tried disabling the CRL check from IE under Tools Internet Options Advanced. Is there anything else I can try here?

  • Mac OS X : Open up 3 terminals, run different commands from all for each of them, to set up a develo

    I'm a Ruby on Rails Web Developer and there is a lot of repetition I go through to start up my development environment. I was wondering if there is any way that I can remove some of this repetition by writing a script, or using a program (like quicksilver) or something to get my work environment going. I know how to use quicksilver to open up terminal, and I even have a saved window group to get my 3 or 4 panes open. The next thing I would love to automatically happen is getting all three to goto a certain directory, and each run different commands. One will start the local server, and in another tab, start a background process. the other would open text mate, and then start a console session, while the last one runs a svn(or git) status. Oh yah, and I would love to go ahead and open firefox, and a few tabs going to a couple of locations. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could make all this happen in once quicksilver command, or a double click on some type of script on my Desktop?
