• Website Images not indexed by Google, Yahoo and Bing

  Hi, My classifieds website has been present online since 2006, the html pages are indexed and rank as expected whereas a search on Google Images for site:example.com returns nothing & in Yahoo or Bing it returns only a few image results, 8 to 10. Here is an example of a response HTTP headers as reported by Firebug: Date Sat, 15 Jan 2011 20:38:21 GMT Server Apache Cache-Control max-age=34560000 Expires Sun, 19 Feb 2012 20:38:21 GMT Accept-Ranges bytes Last-Modified Fri, 14 Jan 2011 21:59:16 GMT Vary Accept-Encoding Content-Encoding gzip Content-Length 21675 Connection close Content-Type image/jpeg What should I do to tell search engines to index my website images?   Hi everyone, I'll be writing the online Google test tomorrow as a fresher. Apparently, they definitely ask one problem on Dynamic Programming? Does anyone know of a good resource for collection of DP problems in C along with solutions? I know what DP is & have used it on an occasion or twice. • Java - understanding servlets

  I am working on a homework project that should implement a board game between 2 clients over an HttpServlet. I have couple of questions: 1) I read that HttpServlets must be stateless, however, for the sake of the game, I have to keep a lot of state(whose turn it is, the state of the board, etc). Do I have to keep this in the clients? Does the HttpServlet indeed have to be stateless, i.e. have no fields that track state? 2) I know that the clients will talk to the servlet via the doGet/doPost methods, but how can the servlet talk to the clients(for example, if player 1 just made a move and sent it to the servlet, the servlet has to tell client 2 what the move was). Thank you Also, if you can point me to a useful, simple example of a similar code online, I would be very grateful

  Although I try to distance myself from web-oriented work nowadays (unless I need the money) I've received a number of emails from clients wishing for me to help design and develop online solutions for adult websites. Hell, when I was 17 I was asked to help design an adult website that I would not legally be able to view. After talking to a few Software Engineers and Flash Developers I have heard that there is a lot of interesting work in the adult industry for those who like to work with new technologies. Have any of you worked for a company dealing with adult/pornographic content? Did you enjoy it? If you haven't would you ever consider it?   I am working on a online file management project. We are storing references on the database (sql server) and files data on the on file system. We are facing a problem of coordination between file system and database while we are uploading a file and also in case of deleting a file. First we create a reference in the database or store files on file system. The problem is that if I create a reference in the database first and then store a file on file system, but while storing files on the file system any type of error occur, then the reference for that file is created in the database but no file data exist on the file system. Please give me some solution how to deal with such situation. I am badly in need of it. This case happens also while we deleting a file?

• Keeping track of dirty blocks on a block device

  I'm looking for a way to keep track of what blocks on a block device are modified after a point in time. How I eventually want to use this for is to keep two 2TB disks in sync, one which only comes online (connected through USB) once a month. Without knowing what blocks have been modified, I have to go through the whole 2TB every time. I'm using a recent GNU/Linux OS and have C and Python experience. I'm hoping to avoid writing kernel level code as I don't have any experience in that area whatsoever. My current theory is that there should be some hooks somewhere where my code can get called when a disk flush is performed. Any ideas?

In .Net if i had a MyObject.MyValue the MyValue would be called a property, and I could look this up in MSDN. In java i would check the javadocs online (and that property would have to be a value).   I see plenty of tutorials and articles showing me how to make a simple windows program, which is great but none of them show me how to make multiple windows. Right now I have working code that creates and draws a layered window and I can blit stuff using GDI to draw anything I want on it, drag it around, even make it transparent, etc. But I wanted a second rectangular area that I can draw to, drag around, etc. In other words, a second window. Probably want it to be a child window. Question is, how do I make it? Also, if anybody knows any good resources (online preferably) like articles or tutorials for window management in the Windows API, please share.

  I am working on a social site where users can block other users. Throughout the site --dozens of places, user information is displayed. For example, user comments, reply forms, online user list.. etc etc.. The problem is that given the high number of places user info is displayed, it's becoming very difficult to check each time if that user is blocked. For example: <g:each var="comment" in="${comments}"> <g:if test="!${loggedInUser.blockedUsers.find { it == comment.user}"> show comment </g:if> </g:each> Does Grails provide any functionality that would facilitate creating some kind of filter or intercepter where I could simply exclude blocked users when iterating lists, etc? If not, what would you suggest I do?

  I'm working on this big website and I want to put it online before its fully finished... I'm working locally and the database is getting really big so I wanted to upload the website and continue to work on it in the server, but allowing people to enter, so I can test. The question is if this is good for SEO, I mean, there are a lot of things SEO related that are incomplete.. For example: there are no friendly URLs, no sitemap, no .htacces file, lot of 'in-construction' sections... Does Google will penalize me forever? How does it works? Google indexes adn get the structure of the site just once or its constantly updating and checking for changes??? What i should do? What you recommend?!!?

  Question: When I convert the IP address 192.168.115.67 to a number, is it done like this: 192*256^3 + 168*256^2+115*256^1+67*256^0 = 3232265027 or like this: 192*256^0 + 168*256^1+115*256^2+67*256^3 = 1131653312 I find both variants online, and frankly it doesn't matter as long as reverse it according to the conversion process. But I want to calculate the IP V6 from the IPv4 address, and it seems both variants are on the web... resulting in different IPv6 addresses, and only one can be correct... I use the 1131653312 variant, as 1131653312 is the variant .NET gives me, but 3232265027 is the variant I find on the web for IPv4 to IPv6 conversion...

• Client Profile Application prerequisites

  One last question about Client Profile installation. I downloaded the Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile Online Installer because we want to put it in the installation CD because our end user might not have either .net framework 3.5 or internet. So we want to be able to handle both cases. In the prerequisites I'm able to select the location of where the file will be, but I don't know where it should be. I want to be able to somehow put the path of the cd, something like d:\ProductName\Prerequisites\DotNetFx35ClientSetup.exe so it can get it and install it from there.   someone wrote a nice framework for developing html5 3d engine. It's GPL/MIT licensed. Do you think it's a good idea to build upon it, and then repackage it and sell it as a service? For eg the framework lets you build 3d environments. so I build on it, maybe add a few features like characters and music in the environment, and turn it into an online game. Is it a feasible idea? Of course, part of the GPL license says that all source code has to be visible to end users. Assuming the web is a winner take all market based on first mover advantage, why care about hiding the source code? It's the product that's being sold that counts.

  I have some folders with special characters in their names. I run currently at a test-computer with Windows OS, but later I will use LINUX. My problem is that the folders with special chars in their names cannot be recognized somehow. ex: file_exists('../Bilar/27733691_1.jpg') // TRUE file_exists('../Båtar/27733691_1.jpg') // FALSE because of the special char in folder name... How should I solve this? I plan to run LINUX in the future when website is online... would that matter? Please explain thoroughly because I am a newb at this Thanks

  I want to build an online quiz test site. Suppose, exam will start at 10:00 am and a student login to give exam at 9:45 am. Whenever the student clicks 'Take Exam' button, he/she cannot not get access to the question paper because the exam time is 10:00 am and there are still 15 minutes before the exam start. Now I want to put some Javascript or PHP code that will prohibit the students to give exam earlier and if a students come early, it will show a stopwatch which display the remaining time before exam time and when the current time is equal to exam time then he/she will be directly redirected to the question paper page.
