• GWT AbstractColumnDefinition (Need to add style to certain Columns)

  I have a column Definition for each colume that extends AbstractColumnDefinition these columns are put in a DefaultTableDefinition. example: NAME | SIZE | RES | DELETE | this style (AT THE END OF THE PAGE ) is added to the column names if you notice all of them are with a cursor pointer , meaning a hand shows up when i hover above each one. my question is would I be able to remove the coursor for delete or in general for a certain column and keeping it for another one .. i tried to do that with each column Definition but there is no such thing as remove or addstyle even to like put my own style. • In an ASP.NET MVC site, where would the JQuery code go?

  I'm just getting started with ASP.NET MVC. I'm going to be using JQuery on the website I'm making, but I'm not really sure about one thing: where would JQuery code be placed? This concerns two things: Where do I import the JQuery JavaScript file? (I've been thinking that the Master page would be a good place to do this; am I right, or do I have to import it in each view?) Should all my JQuery code be referenced from the Master page (i.e., I store my code that uses JQuery in a separate .js file and reference it in a <script> tag)? Thanks in advance.

• Preventing spam bots on site?

  We're having an issue on one of our fairly large websites with spam bots. It appears the bots are creating user accounts and then posting journal entries which lead to various spam links. It appears they are bypassing our captcha somehow -- either it's been cracked or they're using another method to create accounts. We're looking to do email activation for the accounts, but we're about a week away from implementing such changes (due to busy schedules). However, I don't feel like this will be enough if they're using an SQL exploit somewhere on the site and doing the whole cross site scripting thing. So my question to you: If they are using some kind of XSS exploit, how can I find it? I'm securing statements where I can but, again, its a fairly large site and it'd take me awhile to actively clean up SQL statements to prevent XSS. Can you recommend anything to help our situation?

• Combinig JQuery datapicker with input field validation /filter

  I am using the JQueryui Datepicker. But it doesn't really affect values entered manually in the input-field. Is there some way I can use the same (client) code to specify mask / validation on the input field (when the datapicker is not used - not just have datepicker output the correct format). What would be the most consistent way to do this in the JQuery framework? Thanks Remarks It seems jQuery put som restraints on input (I.e. I can only enter digits- mask "yymmdd") so the main thing is to get validation.

• SDL_ttf and Numbers (int)

  int score = 0; char* fixedscore=(char*)score; . . . imgTxt = TTF_RenderText_Solid( font, fixedscore, fColor ); ^^ This doesn't work - looks like fixedscore is empty or doesn't exists. int score = 0; char* fixedscore=(char*)score; . . . imgTxt = TTF_RenderText_Solid( font, "Works fine", fColor ); ^^ Works fine, but... I guess converting int to char* doesn't really work. So how do you print scores in SDL? Oh and one more thing: why is the text so ugly? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

• Slow PDF upload for Confluence

  We run a site that we host that uses the Atlassian Confluence. The site works great and is being used now. But there is one thing. It seems like when pdf and gifs are uploaded the upload speed will be slower. But the smaller files will upload fine. Has anyone else having an issue with uploading pdf's into confluence? I am trying to use fiddler to track the speed but am not having luck with that. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  Have you heard of any library which would allow me to set up a tracing for specific methods at runtime? Instead of adding (and removing) lots of System.out.println in my code (and having to re-compile and re-deploy) I would like to have a magic thing which would print out a line for each call of selected method without any change in the code. This would work without re-compiling, so some kind of JVM agent (or some non-standard JVM would be needed?). Sounds like a job for aspect programming? A typical scenario would be to start an application, configure the traced methods dynamically (in a separate file or similar) and then everytime a selected method is called a line with its name (and arguments) is printed out to System.out (or some log file). Naturally one could think of tens of additional features, but this basic set would be a great tool. BTW, I use Eclipse interactive debugger too, not only the System.out tracing technique, but both have some advantages and sometimes Eclipse is not enough.

  hey i have the following query: select * from table where table.DateUpdated >='2010-05-03 08:31:13:000' all the rows in the table being queried have the following DateUpdated: 2010-05-03 08:04:50.000 it returns all of the rows in the table - even though it should return none. I am pretty sure this is because of some crappy date/time regional thing. if i swap the date to be select * from table where table.DateUpdated >='2010-03-05 08:31:13:000' then it does as it should. How can i force everything to be using the same settings? this is doing my head in :) This is sql generated by NHIbernate from my WCF service if that matters. w://

  Hello all, and thanks for reading. I wrote a web service which is called through jsonp, and returns a .Net 3.5 DataSet which I then want to parse using jquery. It appears that the getJson() method is working fine as far as parsing the json goes. I'm learing LINQ-to-SQL right now and i have wrote a simple application that define SQL data: [Table( Name = "items" )] public class Item { [ Column( IsPrimaryKey = true, IsDbGenerated = true ) ] public int Id; [ Column ] public string Name; } I have launched 2 copy of application connected to the same .sdf file and tested if all database modifications in one application affects another application. But strange thing arise. If i use InsertOnSubmit() and DeleteOnSubmit() in one application, added/removed items are instantly visible in other application via 'select' LINQ queue. But if i try to modify 'Name' field in one application, it is NOT visible in other applicaton until it reconnects the database :(. The test code i use: var Items = from c in db.Items where Id == c.Id select c; foreach( var Item in Items ) { Item.Name = "new name"; break; } db.SubmitChanges(); Can anyone suggest what i'm doing wrong and why InsertOnSubmit()/DeleteOnSubmit works and SubmitChanges() don't?

  Well here goes a sligtly arwkward question, I have changed job roles from Network Admin to SQL Server DBA thus having to learn SQL server 2005. I am quite self motivated and have learned the basics of Transac and a little about Reporting services. The only thing is I need to set senarios as theres not much coming in at work in the way of SQL tasks. I have always kept my interest in networking by setting little "Hacking tasks", I have has a look at some crackme's but can find nothing to play with. I understand the SQL injection is some sort of SQL hack but found not much on the subject. I know my way of learning might be a bit different from others but it is all White Hat and keeps my interest. Thanks

  Doing something like this: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:AllCustomersViewModel}"> <vw:AllCustomersView /> </DataTemplate> works in a ResourceDictionary for when I want to apply a ViewModel to a UserControl as root, but how do I the same thing when I have a UserControl inside of a Page? Would I create a ResourceDictionary for all my Pages then at the top of each Page do something like: <Page.Resources> <ResourceDictionary Source="../MainWindowResources.xaml"/> </Page.Resources> Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

  Hello, On one side, in Vb.Net when you add an event handler to an object the created method is named: <NameOfTheObject>_<NameOfTheMethod>. As I like to have consistent syntax I always follow this rule when creating event handlers by hand. On the other side when I create private variables I prefix them with m_ as this is a common thing used by the community, in C# people use to put _ at the beginning of a variable but this is no CLS compliant. At the end, when I create event handlers for events raised by private variables I end with Subs like m_myVariable_MyEvent. Code Analysis (Fx Cop) is complainig about this way of naming because the method does not start with uppercase and because the _, so the question is: What naming standards do you follow when creating event handlers by hand that follow the Fxcop rules if any? • How to import *.pyc file from different version of python?

  Hello, I used python 2.5 and imported a file named "irit.py" from C:\util\Python25\Lib\site-packages directory. This files imports the file "_irit.pyc which is in the same directory. It worked well and did what I wanted. Than, I tried the same thing with python version 2.6.4. "irit.py" which is in C:\util\Python26\Lib\site-packages was imported, but "_irit.pyc" (which is in the same directory of 26, like before) hasn't been found. I got the error message: File "C:\util\Python26\lib\site-packages\irit.py", line 5, in import _irit ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found. Can someone help me understand the problem and how to fix it?? Thanks, Almog.

• Git remote has master but no HEAD

  I'm new to Git, so I suspect that I'm misunderstanding something here, but I'll ask anyway. Via TortoiseGit I do the following: Init a new Git repo locally Add a readme file to it and commit Add a new remote Push the new repo to the orgin (remote) If I then Browse Refs I see the following: heads/master remotes/origin/master What I find odd is that I don't see a HEAD on the remotes. If I delete my local repo and then clone it from the server (I just pushed to above) and then browse the refs I see: heads/master remotes/origin/HEAD remotes/origin/master So why don't I see a remote head after the initial push? NB. I've done the same via Git Bash command (ie. not Tortoise Git) and am seeing the same thing.

• How to handle concurrency control in ASP.NET Dynamic Data?

  I've been quite impressed with dynamic data and how easy and quick it is to get a simple site up and running. I'm planning on using it for a simple internal HR admin site for registering people's skills/degrees/etc. I've been watching the intro videos at www.asp.net/dynamicdata and one thing they never mention is how to handle concurrency control. It seems that DD does not handle it right out of the box (unless there is some setting I haven't seen) as I manually generated a change conflict exception and the app failed without any user friendly message. Anybody know if DD handles it out of the box? Or do you have to somehow build it into the site?

• Android x86 porting, unable to make it work

  I'm kind of new to the whole porting issue and I got to it because of the slowness in the emulator provided with the Android SDK. I downloaded the android-x86-3.2-RC2-eeepc and android-x86-3.2-RC2-tegav2 ISO-es (from this site) and tried them on the VirtualBox but have no internet connection on the eeepc version and the tegev2 wont event start. I tried the VirtualBoxHowTo but got nothing, on both Windows and Linux platforms. the only thing I managed to understand is that to use this on a VM you need to build it for VM. Can anyone help me on this? P.S.: I need the HoneyComb version (3.2) and the pc I have is a AMD 6 core on and Asus Crosshair Extreme motherboard, Windows 7 or Ubunutu 11.10. (both OS are 64bit)

• Xhtml instead of Php?

  I want to develop a site that will allow be to publish information to users, and give them and opportunity to subscribe to a mailing list so they can be updated each time I make a change to the site. *Add new information, etc. I also would like for the users to be able to add comments about reviews posted, and give me suggestions...Things that will encourage user interaction I understand that this is possible with php... But I do not know php, and to learn and test it I apparently need a domain to begin with...etc. Is it possible that I use Xhtml/Html to get the same results? -- I know I can use the <a href="mailto:[email protected]"; subject="Email from Site user">Mail</a> but that would also leave my email open to spam...Any suggestions? And I do apologize if this question has been posted before, I did some research and found no such thing. All helpful responses are appreciated.
