Using a vmware image as a web server

I have a centos image with apache installed on it. How do I host it's contents to the web? I have it listening at port 80 already, but I can't yet access it.

Can I transfer a Win7 upgrade if the upgraded OS was retail? [closed]

Possible Duplicate: Windows 7 and Vista Activation FAQ: How do language, version, 64-bit or 32-bit, and source affect ability to install and transfer Windows licenses? I have new system components on the way which equate to a new computer. My current machine config is running Windows 7 Pro Upgrade which I installed on top of Vista Ultimate (retail - not OEM). Can I install the Windows 7 Pro on the new computer? Would this equate to transferring the original OS (Vista) license to the new machine?

How to change default user (ubuntu) via CloudInit on AWS

I'm using CloudInit to automate the startup of my instances on AWS. I followed the (scarce) documentation available at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~cloud-init-dev/cloud-init/trunk/annotate/head%3A/doc/examples/cloud-config.txt and examples on /usr/share/doc/cloud-init, but still haven't figured out how to change the default username (ubuntu, id:1000). I know I can create a script to manually delete the default ubuntu and add my user, but seems counter intuitive given that CloudInit exist exactly to automate the initial setup. Any ideas?

I have a J2EE application running on an IBM Websphere Application Server on a Windows Operating System. Analyzing the heap dump, the memory occupied by the heap is about 500Mb. Given the relatively normal number of threads and heap size a lot lower than the maximum, I am trying to figure out why I see this error? I am testing an application (Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.5.0 Beta, Atomikos 3.6.2, and Postgreql 8.4.2) with the configuration for the DAO listed below. The problem that I see is that the pool of 10 connections with the dataSource gets exhausted after the 10's transaction. I know 'hibernate.connection.release_mode' has no effect unless the session is obtained with openSession rather then using a contextual session. I am wandering if anyone has found a way to configure the LocalSessionFactoryBean to release connections after any transaction. NHibernate: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute

Hi All, I'm currently struggling with this "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" issue. I have searched about this error message, and it's all related to the foreach statement. I do have the some foreach statements, but they are just simply representing the data. I did not using any remove or add inside the foreach statement. NOTE: The error randomly happens (about 4-5 times a day). The application is the MVC website. There are about 5 users operate this applications (about 150 orders a day). Could it be some another users modified the collection, and then occur this error? I have log4net setup and the settings can be found here Make sure that the controller has a parameterless public constructor I do have parameterless public constructor in AdminProductController Does anyone know why this happen and how to resolve this issue? A friend (Oskar) mentioned that "Theory: Maybe the problem is that your configuration and session factory is initialized on the first request after application restart. If a second request comes in before the first request is finished, maybe it will also try to initialize and then triggering this problem somehow." Many thanks. Cannot connect to one of my WCF services, not even with telnet

I have six wcf services that I'm hosting in a windows service. Everything works great on my machine (Windows 7) but when I try it in production (Windows Server 2003) I cannot connect to one of my six services, ReportsService. I figured I must have a typo, but everything looks right. I've even rewritten that section of the config file just to be sure. I've turned on WCF tracing, but it never shows the call to my service; nothing helpful in there. I tried connecting to the port (9005) with telnet, but it failed. I can connect to all other services (ports 9001-4 and 9006) just fine. I thought that maybe there was a problem with port 9005, so I changed it to 9007 and still couldn't connect. I had one of my working services host on 9005 and it actually worked fine. So I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the port or any firewall settings. Whatever port I tell ReportsService to use fails. Now I'm out of ideas. It seems like it's not hosting that one service, but I cannot get any information about why or what's wrong. Any ideas on what I could try to get that information? Or what might be wrong? The unhandled System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException I get when running my client is: Could not connect to net.tcp://localhost:9005/ReportsService. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:01.0937430. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 172.0.0.1:9005. . Cannot use WCF service from windows mobile 5: no endpoint found.

Hi All, I'm trying to figure out how to call a WCF service from a windows smart phone. I have a very simple smartphone console app, which does nothing but launch and make 1 call to the service. The service simply returns a string. I am able to instantiate the proxy class but when i call the method it throws an exception: There was no endpoint listening at http://mypcname/Service1.svc/basic that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. The inner exception: Could not establish connection to network. I've tried to follow this tutorial on setting up services with windows mobile. I've used the NetCFSvcUtil to create the proxy classes. I have the service running on IIS on my machine and had the Util consume the wsdl from that location. I've created a basic http binding as suggested in the article and i think i've pointed the proxy at the correct uri. Here some sections of relevant code in case it's helpful to see. If anyone has any suggestions, i'd really appreciate it. I'm not sure what else i can poke at to get this thing to work. Thanks! My users can change the Locale within the app (they may want to keep their phone settings in English but read the content of my app in French, Dutch or any other language ...) Struts2 + Sitemesh + Freemarker doesn't work

I've tried following every example i ccould find and i can't get struts2 + sitemesh + freemarker to work on a simple jsp. I have a very simple web.xml, a single action that just goes to index.jsp, and a simple .ftl decorator that just adds some text to the result. Why isn't pyinstaller making me an .exe file?

I am attempting to follow this guide to make a simple Hello World script into an .exe file. I have Windows Vista with an AMD 64-bit processor I have installed Python 2.6.5 (Windows AMD64 version) I have set the PATH (if that's the right word) so that the command line recognizes Python I have installed UPX (there only seems to be a 32-bit version for Windows) and pasted a copy of upx.exe into the Python26 folder as instructed. I have installed Pywin (Windows AMD 64 Python 2.6 version) I have run Pyinstaller's Configure.py. It gives some error messages but seems to complete. Atomikos with Hibernate will exhaust db connections

I am testing an application (Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.5.0 Beta, Atomikos 3.6.2, and Postgreql 8.4.2) with the configuration for the DAO listed below. The problem that I see is that the pool of 10 connections with the dataSource gets exhausted after the 10's transaction. I know 'hibernate.connection.release_mode' has no effect unless the session is obtained with openSession rather then using a contextual session. I am wandering if anyone has found a way to instruct atomikos code to release connections after any transaction. Hi all: I have a php script that updates a database via an api. This script works on one server but not on another. Both servers have curl enabled and they have php 5.2.6 or above. The error happens in the do_put() method. The rest of the script seems to be fine. The three servers are extremely similar in setup and configuration. The JSP page is being served up by OpenCMS, and I'm using the Caucho's Resin webserver. I understand that you don't know how my servers or CMS are set up, but really, what I'm looking for is ideas. Any ideas at all would help -- this problem has been driving me absolutely batty. ASP.NET MVC + MySql Membership Provider, user cannot login

Hello, I've been playing around with using MySql as the membership provider for asp.net mvc forms authentication. I've got things configured correctly as far as i can tell, and i can create users via both the register action and asp.net web config site. however, when i try to login with one of the users, it does not work. it returns an error as if i had entered a wrong password, or if the account doesn't exist. i have verified in the database that the account does exist. UPDATE So after debugging the login process in the code of the membership provider itself, i discovered that there is a bug in the provider. There is a discrepancy between the password hash that is stored in the database, and the has that is generated based on the inputted password. As a workaround for my issue, i changed the password format to 'encrpyted' and added a machine key to my web.config. I am still interested in figuring out the issue with the hashed format in the provider, and will spend some more time debugging it, and if i can figure out the problem, i will put together a patch and submit it.

I tried to pass by reference or switch a few things around (like re declare the Filer model, $current_filer = new Filer($id); and unset() it again after the request, but resulted in the same error) without much success. The referenced method "humanize" isn't used for anything I'm doing at the moment, but belongs to the Model because it's used in several other places. Of course, removing the method is not really an option right now, and the model contains several other methods as well so I assume if I just move the humanize method around, it will generate an error on the next one.
