  • SSIS pckage run from file system

    Initially I deployed packages on SQL server but since my machine is not having SSIS installed I faced issue of version while executing the packages. Then I deployed packages to file system on server which has SQL server enterprise edition with SSIS installed on it. I access the folder on server where I have deployed packages from my system and execute the package but I get error saying "cannot run on this edition of integration services, need higher version." Do I need to rmote login (RDP) to execute package?

  • Can I use Visual Studio's testing facilities in native code?

    Is it possible to use Visual Studio's testing system with native code? I have no objection to recompiling the code itself under C++/CLI if it's possible the code can be recompiled without changes -- but the production code shipped has to be native code. The Premium Edition comes with code coverage support which I might be able to get cheaply from my University -- but I can get the Professional Edition for free from DreamSpark -- and that's the only thing I can see that I'd use. (But I'd use it a LOT)

    I want to build an application for the iPhone to be used inside a customer enterprise (very small, only 5 to 10 devices). But since they will be paying the application development, I don't want to distribute that application to the world inside the App Store in iTunes. How can I distribute this app to my customer? Should I get the Enterprise level subscription from the Apple Developer Program? Since I work as a freelancer, I think I can't subscribe to that program.

  • How do I find out the expiry date of a SQL Server 2008 trial-install instance?

    So I installed a trial of SQL Server 2008 enterprise edition while waiting for MSDN licenses to come through - I now want to uninstall the trial and replace it with a developer edition installation. However, I'd like to first know how long I have left on the trial. Is there a way to do this programmatically with SQL? I looked at create_date in sys.databases, but these give dates that are in 2003 (which is, I guess, when master and model were originally created).

I would like to iterate over SERVERPROPERTY function arguments (propertynames). I have another database table which is hosted in SQL Server 2005 Enterprise DB. I want to know whether Merge statement could using one table of SQL Server 2008 as source, and another tableof SQL Server 2005 as target?     I have created a database model in Visio Professional (2003). I know that the Enterprise version has the ability to create a DB in Sql Server based on the data in Visio. I do not have the option to install Enterprise. Aside from going through the entire thing one table and relationship at a time and creating the whole database from scratch, by hand, can anyone recommend any tool/utility/method for converting the visio database model into a Sql Script that can be used to create a new DB in Sql Server?
