  • Autohide scrollbars when not scrolling in a ListView

    - by synic
    In the new official Twitter app, the scrollbars in all the ListViews the app uses are hidden unless the user is scrolling through the list. When you start scrolling, the scrollbars appear. When you stop, they fade out with an animation until they are gone completely. I can't seem to find anything in the documentation that indicates this as being a standard feature. Is this something included in the API? If not, anyone know how this might be done?

  • How do you perform arithmetic calculations on symbols in Scheme/Lisp?

    - by kunjaan
    I need to perform calculations with a symbol. I need to convert the time which is of hh:mm form to the minutes passed. ;; (get-minutes symbol)->number ;; convert the time in hh:mm to minutes ;; (get-minutes 6:19)-> 6* 60 + 19 (define (get-minutes time) (let* ((a-time (string->list (symbol->string time))) (hour (first a-time)) (minutes (third a-time))) (+ (* hour 60) minutes))) This is an incorrect code, I get a character after all that conversion and cannot perform a correct calculation. Do you guys have any suggestions? I cant change the input type. Context: The input is a flight schedule so I cannot alter the data structure. ;; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: Figured out an ugly solution. Please suggest something better. (define (get-minutes time) (let* ((a-time (symbol->string time)) (hour (string->number (substring a-time 0 1))) (minutes (string->number (substring a-time 2 4)))) (+ (* hour 60) minutes)))

  • Radio buttons being reset in FF on cache-refresh

    - by Andrew Song
    (This is technically an addendum to an earlier StackOverflow question I had posted, but my original post asked a different question which doesn't really cover this topic -- I don't want to edit my older question as I feel this is different enough to merit its own page) While browsing my website in Firefox 3.5 (and only FF3.5), I come across a page with two radio buttons that have the following HTML code: <input id="check1" type="radio" value="True" name="check" checked="checked"/> <input id="check2" type="radio" value="False" name="check"/> This page renders as expected, with 'check1' checked and 'check2' unchecked. When I then go to refresh the page by pressing Control + R, the two radio buttons render, but they are both unchecked even though the raw HTML code is the same (as above). If I do a cache-miss refresh (via Control + F5 or Control + Shift + R), the page returns back to the way you'd expect it. This is not a problem in any other browser I've tried except FF3.5. What is causing these radio buttons to be reset on a normal refresh? How can I avoid this?

  • How do I make a full screen scrolling messagebox or window?

    - by chobo2
    Hi First let me start of saying I know absolutely nothing about c++ and I am really just more interested in getting this to work then learning c++(I got enough on my plate to learn). So basically I am trying to make a terms of service for my windows mobile 6 professional application but it seems I need to use c++ to do it. After hours of searching I found a solution but it developed for windows mobile standard. So they somehow used c++ to make a message box and on standard devices(ie non touch screen phones) the message box can have like scrolling. For some reason this is not the case with professional devices(touch screen devices). So my message box goes off the page and you can never accept or decline the terms. So your stuck and on the screen forever till you do some sort of soft restart. http://www.mobilepractices.com/2008/10/setupdll-sample-and-walkthrough-terms.html The above link is the tutorial but here is the actual file that seems to display the message. #include "stdafx.h" #include "ce_setup.h" // This is a variable containing the text to be displayed // in the Terms & Conditions dialog TCHAR Message[] = _T("TERMS & CONDITIONS\r\n ") _T("Selecting YES you're accepting our terms & conditions.\r\n") _T("This is just a sample application.\r\n") _T("From http://www.mobilepractices.com\r\n") _T("You can replace this text with your own.\r\n") _T("We're using a setup.dll to show this dialog.\r\n") _T("Extra line to force vertical scrollbar.\r\n") _T("Extra line to force vertical scrollbar.\r\n") _T("Extra line to force vertical scrollbar.\r\n") _T("Extra line to force vertical scrollbar.\r\n") _T("Extra line to force vertical scrollbar.\r\n") _T("Extra line to force vertical scrollbar.\r\n") _T("Last line.\r\n") ; // This function will be called when the user // tries to install the cab. According to its return // value the installation continues or is cancelled. // As this could be called more than once // (i.e. if there is not enough space on the target) // we should take care about fFirstCall parameter // to show the dialog only once. codeINSTALL_INIT Install_Init( HWND hwndParent, BOOL fFirstCall, BOOL fPreviouslyInstalled, LPCTSTR pszInstallDir ) { if (!fFirstCall || ::MessageBoxW(0, Message, _T("SplashScreenSample") , MB_YESNO) == IDYES) return codeINSTALL_INIT_CONTINUE; else return codeINSTALL_INIT_CANCEL; } So I want to change this to something that can scroll. Can I use like a panel control since I know what has scroll or something else? Thanks

  • Why Backbone.js isn't binding my event

    - by Saif Bechan
    I have a router like this, as main entry point: window.AppRouter = Backbone.Router.extend({ routes: { '': 'login' }, login: function(){ userLoginView = new UserLoginView(); } }); var appRouter = new AppRouter; Backbone.history.start({pushState: true}); I have a model/collection/view like this: window.User = Backbone.Model.extend({}); window.Users = Backbone.Collection.extend({ model: User }); window.UserLoginView = Backbone.View.extend({ events: { 'click #login-button': 'loginAction' }, initialize: function(){ _.bindAll(this, 'render', 'loginAction'); }, loginAction: function(){ var uid = $("#login-username").val(); var pwd = $("#login-password").val(); var user = new User({uid:uid, pwd:pwd}); } }); And body of my HTML looks like this: <form action="#" method="POST" id="login-form"> <p> <label for="login-username">username</label> <input type="text" id="login-username" autofocus /> </p> <p> <label for="login-password">password</label> <input type="password" id="login-password" /> </p> <a id="login-button" href="#">Inloggen</a> </form> Note: The HTML comes from Node.js using express.js, should I maybe wait for a document ready event somewhere? Edit: I have tried this, create the view when ready, did not solve the problem. $(function(){ userLoginView = new UserLoginView(); });

  • Working with libpath with java reflection.

    - by C. Ross
    I'm dynamically loading a class and calling a method on it. This class does JNI. When I call the class, java attempts to load the library. This causes an error because the library is not on the libpath. I'm calling from instead a jar so I can't easily change the libpath (especially since the library is not in the same directory or a sub directory of the jar). I do know the path of the library, but how can I load it before I load the class. Current code: public Class<?> loadClass(String name) throws ClassNotFoundException { if(!CLASS_NAME.equals(name)) return super.loadClass(name); try { URL myUrl = new URL(classFileUrl); URLConnection connection = myUrl.openConnection(); InputStream input = connection.getInputStream(); byte[] classData = readConnectionToArray(input); return defineClass(CLASS_NAME, classData, 0, classData.length); } catch (MalformedURLException e) { throw new UndeclaredThrowableException(e); } catch (IOException e) { throw new UndeclaredThrowableException(e); } } Exception: Can't find library libvcommon.so java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: vcommon (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibraryWithPath(ClassLoader.java:998) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibraryWithClassLoader(ClassLoader.java:962) at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:465) at vcommon.(vcommon.java:103) at java.lang.J9VMInternals.initializeImpl(Native Method) at java.lang.J9VMInternals.initialize(J9VMInternals.java:200) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:37) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:599) at com.fortune500.fin.v.vunit.reflection.ReflectionvProcessor.calculateV(ReflectionvProcessor.java:36) at com.fortune500.fin.v.vunit.UTLTestCase.execute(UTLTestCase.java:42) at com.fortune500.fin.v.vunit.TestSuite.execute(TestSuite.java:15) at com.fortune500.fin.v.vunit.batch.Testvendor.execute(Testvendor.java:101) at com.fortune500.fin.v.vunit.batch.Testvendor.main(Testvendor.java:58) Related: Dynamic loading a class in java with a different package name

  • How do I get a less than in a javascript for loop in XSL to work?

    - by Kyle
    I am using CDATA to escape the script but in IE8's debugger I still get this message: "Expected ')'" in the for loop conditions. I am assuming it still thinks that the ; in the &lt; generated by CDATA is ending the loop conditions. Original script in my XSL template: <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> <![CDATA[ function submitform(form){ var oErrorArray = new Array(); for (i=0;i<form.length;i++) eval("oErrorArray["+i+"]=oError"+i); var goForm = true; for(i=0;i<form.length;i++) { oErrorArray[i].innerHTML = ""; if(form[i].value="")){ oErrorArray[i].innerHTML = "Error - input field is blank"; goForm = false; } } if(goForm == true) form.submit(); } function resetform(form){ form.reset(); } ]]> </script> Code generated after transformation (from IE8 debugger): <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function submitform(form){ var oErrorArray = new Array(); for (i=0;i&lt;form.length;i++) eval("oErrorArray["+i+"]=oError"+i); goForm = true; for(i=0;i&lt;form.length;i++) { oErrorArray[i].innerHTML = ""; if(form[i].value="")){ oErrorArray[i].innerHTML = "Error - input field is blank"; goForm = false; } } if(goForm == true) form.submit(); } function resetform(form){ form.reset(); } </script> Error reported by IE8 debugger: Expected ')' login.xml, line 29 character 30 (which is right after the first "form.length")

  • How to partition bits in a bit array with less than linear time

    - by SiLent SoNG
    This is an interview question I faced recently. Given an array of 1 and 0, find a way to partition the bits in place so that 0's are grouped together, and 1's are grouped together. It does not matter whether 1's are ahead of 0's or 0's are ahead of 1's. An example input is 101010101, and output is either 111110000 or 000011111. Solve the problem in less than linear time. Make the problem simpler. The input is an integer array, with each element either 1 or 0. Output is the same integer array with integers partitioned well. To me, this is an easy question if it can be solved in O(N). My approach is to use two pointers, starting from both ends of the array. Increases and decreases each pointer; if it does not point to the correct integer, swap the two. int * start = array; int * end = array + length - 1; while (start < end) { // Assume 0 always at the end if (*end == 0) { --end; continue; } // Assume 1 always at the beginning if (*start == 1) { ++start; continue; } swap(*start, *end); } However, the interview insists there is a sub-linear solution. This makes me thinking hard but still not get an answer. Can anyone help on this interview question?

  • String Manipulation in C

    - by baris_a
    Hi guys, I am helping my nephew for his C lab homework, it is a string manipulation assignment and applying Wang's algorithm. Here is the BNF representation for the input. <sequent> ::= <lhs> # <rhs> <lhs> ::= <formulalist>| e <rhs> ::= <formulalist>| e <formulalist> ::= <formula>|<formula> , <formulalist> <formula> ::= <letter>| - <formula>| (<formula><in?xop><formula>) <in?xop> ::= & | | | > <letter> ::= A | B | ... | Z What is the best practice to handle and parse this kind of input in C? How can I parse this structure without using struct? Thanks in advance.

  • Microsoft C++ Language Reference

    - by eSKay
    Whenever any question is asked, and a reference text is needed, I never see MSDN C++ Language Reference being referred. I was browsing through it and I personally feel that it is extremely well written. Is there some specific reason it is not used as often as a standard? Is it because it contains some VC++ specific features?

  • How to compare a string with an option value

    - by user225269
    I have this html form which has options: <tr> <td width="30" height="35"><font size="3">*List:</td> <td width="30"><input name="specific" type="text" id="specific" maxlength="25" value=""> </td> <td><font size="3">*By:</td> <td> <select name="general" id="general"> <font size="3"> <option value="YEAR">Year</option> <option value="ADDRESS">Address</option> </select></td></td> </tr> And I'm trying to have this as the form action: if ('{$_POST["ADDRESS"]}'="ADDRESS") Which will compare if the value in the option in the html form matches the word "Address". If it matches then it will execute this query: $saddress= mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['specific']);<--this is the input form where the user will put the specific address to search. mysql_query("SELECT * FROM student WHERE ADDRESS='$saddress'"); Please I need help in here, I thinks its wrong: if ('{$_POST["ADDRESS"]}'="ADDRESS")

  • PHP - upload.class image and $_FILES

Here is my form: <form action="<?="http://".$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];?>" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <table style="width: 100%; padding-top: 20px;"> <tr> <td>Image file:</td> <td><input type="file" name="image_file" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td align="right"><input type="submit" name="add_new" value="Add image" /><td></td> </tr> </table> </form> In php code I do: if( array_key_exists('add_new', $_POST) ) { echo 'add new is in array'; echo '<pre>'; print_r($_POST); print_r($_FILES); echo '</pre>'; $handle = new Upload($_FILES['image_file']); ... } Here is an output of print_r: Array ( [image_file] => somefile.png [add_new] => Add image ) Array ( ) As you can see second array is empty ($_FILES), so image doesn't upload.   • Parser that accepts Scala Identifiers?

    - by Mirko Stocker
    I was wondering whether the standard Scala parser combinators contain a parser that accepts the same identifiers that the Scala language itself also accepts (as specified in the Scala Language Specification, Section 1.1). The StdTokenParsers trait has an ident parser, but it rejects identifiers like empty_?. (If there is indeed no such parser, I could also just instantiate the Scala parser itself, but that wouldn't be as lightweight anymore.)

  • Good Haskell coding standards

    - by Alexey Romanov
    Could someone provide a link to a good coding standard for Haskell? I've found this and this, but they are far from comprehensive. Not to mention that the HaskellWiki one includes such "gems" as "use classes with care" and "defining symbolic infix identifiers should be left to library writers only."

  • .net bitmap file type limitations

    - by David Archer
    Hi, Given the line: Bitmap bitmap = new Bitmap(stream); where stream is a System.IO.Stream, are there any limitations on the image file type e.g png, jpg, gif etc that can be handled. i.e are all image file/stream header info clear enough to say "I am an image". I haven't run into any yet, but have only being using the pretty standard ones so far. Thanks

  • Patterns: Local Singleton vs. Global Singleton?

    - by Mike Rosenblum
    There is a pattern that I use from time to time, but I'm not quite sure what it is called. I was hoping that the SO community could help me out. The pattern is pretty simple, and consists of two parts: A singleton factory, which creates objects based on the arguments passed to the factory method. Objects created by the factory. So far this is just a standard "singleton" pattern or "factory pattern". The issue that I'm asking about, however, is that the singleton factory in this case maintains a set of references to every object that it ever creates, held within a dictionary. These references can sometimes be strong references and sometimes weak references, but it can always reference any object that it has ever created. When receiving a request for a "new" object, the factory first searches the dictionary to see if an object with the required arguments already exits. If it does, it returns that object, if not, it returns a new object and also stores a reference to the new object within the dictionary. This pattern prevents having duplicative objects representing the same underlying "thing". This is useful where the created objects are relatively expensive. It can also be useful where these objects perform event handling or messaging - having one object per item being represented can prevent multiple messages/events for a single underlying source. There are probably other reasons to use this pattern, but this is where I've found this useful. My question is: what to call this? In a sense, each object is a singleton, at least with respect to the data it contains. Each is unique. But there are multiple instances of this class, however, so it's not at all a true singleton. In my own personal terminology, I tend to call the factory method a "global singleton". I then call the created objects "local singletons". I sometimes also say that the created objects have "reference equality", meaning that if two variables reference the same data (the same underlying item) then the reference they each hold must be to the same exact object, hence "reference equality". But these are my own invented terms, and I am not sure that they are good ones. Is there standard terminology for this concept? And if not, could some naming suggestions be made? Thanks in advance...

  • Is it possible to post to Facebook application Wall via JavaScript?

    - by Bess
    I have a Canvas Facebook app embedded via an iframe. I would like to include a feedback link which would encourage the user to leave a comment that would be added to the Application wall - this comment would open like a standard FB modal window. Is there anyway to post to to the Application Wall directly via JS? Everything I have found such as FB.Connect.StreamPublish(), only publishes to the users stream, I need to publish to the application stream. Thanks!

    Unit files for standard VCL files like Dialogs, StringUtils etc is never referenced in a projects DPR-file. But when should I add a reference to the DPR-file ? Now I have own sourcefiles and source of own components. What about source files for Ravereport, Devexpress, Indy, Gnostice etc ? I want as fast codeinsight as possible, but of course I do not want to add bloat to the DPR-file. I use Delphi 2007 Regards
