  • A Plot Graph .NET WindowsForm Component Free

    - by user255946
Hello All, I'm searching for a plot .NET component to plot a 2D line chart, given an array of data. It will be used with WindowsForm (C#) and It will be very helpful if it could be freeware. It is for a scientific application. This is my first asked question in stackoverflow, and excuse me for my terrible English written.

  • Binding a collection to Listbox

    - by Blub
Hi, I basically started today with WPF, and I'm astounded by how difficult it is to do binding. I have an array of Textboxes, in an ObservableCollection, and just want to bind that in my Listbox, so that they arrange themselves vertically. I have fiddled around with this for 3 already, can you help? I'm working in a Wpf "UserControl", not a window as so many tutorials seem to rely on.

  • Why PHP Error: Call to a member function set_prefix() on a non-object

    - by Rebol Tutorial
    I got this error Fatal error: Call to a member function set_prefix() on a non-object in /home/reboltutorial/reboltutorial.com/wp-settings.php on line 254 line 254 contains: $prefix = $wpdb->set_prefix($table_prefix); // set up global tables This occurs if I try to call index_wordpress() instead of calling these two lines define('WP_USE_THEMES', true); require('./wp-blog-header.php'); so this doesn't work: <?php function index_wordpress() { define('WP_USE_THEMES', true); require('./wp-blog-header.php'); } ?> <?php if(!function_exists('apache_request_headers')) { function apache_request_headers() { $headers = array(); foreach($_SERVER as $key => $value) { if(substr($key, 0, 5) == 'HTTP_') { $headers[str_replace(' ', '-', ucwords(str_replace('_', ' ', strtolower(substr($key, 5)))))] = $value; } } return $headers; } } function getCurrentPageUrl() { $pageURL = 'http'; if ($_SERVER["HTTPS"] == "on") {$pageURL .= "s";} $pageURL .= "://"; if ($_SERVER["SERVER_PORT"] != "80") { $pageURL .= $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].":".$_SERVER["SERVER_PORT"].$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"]; } else { $pageURL .= $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"]; } return $pageURL; } $a = apache_request_headers(); $pos = strrpos($a["User-Agent"], "REBOL"); if ($pos === false) { index_wordpress(); } else { if ($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] != "69.163.203.14") { $command= './cgi-bin/index.cgi '.   • How can I check if an object has a specific method?

    - by Ghommey
I want to use a method of an object. Like $myObject->helloWorld(). However there are a couple of methods so I loop through an array of method names and call the method like this: my $methodName ="helloWorld"; $myObject->$methodNames; This works quite nice but some objects don't have all methods. How can I tell whether $myObject has a method called helloWorld or not?

  • How to convert from base-256 to base-N, where N is higher than 16?

    - by mark
Dear ladies and sirs. I need to convert an array of bytes to another base, namely 85. In math terms the question is how to convert from base-256 to base-85 in the most efficient way? This question is inspired by my previous question - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2827627/what-is-the-most-efficient-way-to-encode-an-arbitrary-guid-into-readable-ascii-3 Thanks.

  • PHP while(variable=mysql_fetch_assoc) - explanation

    - by Petr
Hi, I have been working with C# so this is quite strange for me: while($variable=mysql_fetch_assoc) I have not been able to look up in PHP manual how it works. I guess that in each loop it advances to next element of assoc.array. But what is this generally called in PHP? I am just not used to see '=' in loop condition.

  • I need a dictionary-like mapping between characters and other kinds of objects. Which class would be

    - by nullPointerException
This is in Squeak/Pharo. If I want to have a mapping between Character objects like $a and $b to other kinds of objects, and want to look up those other objects based on the Character, what is the best class to use? Dictionary is an obvious choice, but seems wasteful to be hashing character objects which are basically already numbers. I guess what I want is a kind of array where the character value (number) is used as an index/offset, but I am not sure if this is possible with Unicode.

  • Calculating all distances between one point and a group of points efficiently in R

    - by dbarbosa
Hi, First of all, I am new to R (I started yesterday). I have two groups of points, data and centers, the first one of size n and the second of size K (for instance, n = 3823 and K = 10), and for each i in the first set, I need to find j in the second with the minimum distance. My idea is simple: for each i, let dist[j] be the distance between i and j, I only need to use which.min(dist) to find what I am looking for. Each point is an array of 64 doubles, so > dim(data) [1] 3823 64 > dim(centers) [1] 10 64 I have tried with for (i in 1:n) { for (j in 1:K) { d[j] <- sqrt(sum((centers[j,] - data[i,])^2)) } S[i] <- which.min(d) } which is extremely slow (with n = 200, it takes more than 40s!!). The fastest solution that I wrote is distance <- function(point, group) { return(dist(t(array(c(point, t(group)), dim=c(ncol(group), 1+nrow(group)))))[1:nrow(group)]) } for (i in 1:n) { d <- distance(data[i,], centers) which.min(d) } Even if it does a lot of computation that I don't use (because dist(m) computes the distance between all rows of m), it is way more faster than the other one (can anyone explain why?), but it is not fast enough for what I need, because it will not be used only once. And also, the distance code is very ugly. I tried to replace it with distance <- function(point, group) { return (dist(rbind(point,group))[1:nrow(group)]) } but this seems to be twice slower. I also tried to use dist for each pair, but it is also slower. I don't know what to do now. It seems like I am doing something very wrong. Any idea on how to do this more efficiently? ps: I need this to implement k-means by hand (and I need to do it, it is part of an assignment). I believe I will only need Euclidian distance, but I am not yet sure, so I will prefer to have some code where the distance computation can be replaced easily. stats::kmeans do all computation in less than one second.

  • if with multiple conditions, order of execution

    - by markus
Hi, In an if statement with multiple conditions is second executed if the outcome is clear after checking the first condition? example: if(i>0 && array[i]==0){ } If I swap the conditions a seg fault may occur for negative values of i but this way the memory debugger doesn't find a problem. Can I be sure that this works always or do have have to use nested if statements?

  • How to share a dictionary between multiple processes in python without locking

    - by RandomVector
I need to share a huge dictionary (around 1 gb in size) between multiple processs, however since all processes will always read from it. I dont need locking. Is there any way to share a dictionary without locking? The multiprocessing module in python provides an Array class which allows sharing without locking by setting lock=false however There is no such option for Dictionary provided by manager in multiprocessing module.

  • PHP/MySQL Interview - How would you have answered?

    - by martincarlin87
I was asked this interview question so thought I would post it here to see how other users would answer: Please write some code which connects to a MySQL database (any host/user/pass), retrieves the current date & time from the database, compares it to the current date & time on the local server (i.e. where the application is running), and reports on the difference. The reporting aspect should be a simple HTML page, so that in theory this script can be put on a web server, set to point to a particular database server, and it would tell us whether the two servers’ times are in sync (or close to being in sync). This is what I put: // Connect to database server $dbhost = 'localhost'; $dbuser = 'xxx'; $dbpass = 'xxx'; $dbname = 'xxx'; $conn = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die (mysql_error()); // Select database mysql_select_db($dbname) or die(mysql_error()); // Retrieve the current time from the database server $sql = 'SELECT NOW() AS db_server_time'; // Execute the query $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); // Since query has now completed, get the time of the web server $php_server_time = date("Y-m-d h:m:s"); // Store query results in an array $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); // Retrieve time result from the array $db_server_time = $row['db_server_time']; echo $db_server_time . '<br />'; echo $php_server_time; if ($php_server_time != $db_server_time) { // Server times are not identical echo '<p>Database server and web server are not in sync!</p>'; // Convert the time stamps into seconds since 01/01/1970 $php_seconds = strtotime($php_server_time); $sql_seconds = strtotime($db_server_time); // Subtract smaller number from biggest number to avoid getting a negative result if ($php_seconds > $sql_seconds) { $time_difference = $php_seconds - $sql_seconds; } else { $time_difference = $sql_seconds - $php_seconds; } // convert the time difference in seconds to a formatted string displaying hours, minutes and seconds $nice_time_difference = gmdate("H:i:s", $time_difference); echo '<p>Time difference between the servers is ' . $nice_time_difference; } else { // Timestamps are exactly the same echo '<p>Database server and web server are in sync with each other!</p>'; } Yes, I know that I have used the deprecated mysql_* functions but that aside, how would you have answered, i.e. what changes would you make and why? Are there any factors I have omitted which I should take into consideration? The interesting thing is that my results always seem to be an exact number of minutes apart when executed on my hosting account: 2012-12-06 11:47:07 2012-12-06 11:12:07

  • Overriding Built-in Classes (Python)

    - by Yipeng
How can I view and override the full definition for built in classes? I have seen the library docs but am looking for something more. For e.g. is it possible to override the Array Class such that the base index starts from 1 instead of 0, or to override .sort() of list to a sorting algorithm of my own liking?

in PHP Consider this function: function test($name, $age) {} I need to somehow extract the parameter names (for generating custom documentations automatically) so that I could do something like: get_func_argNames('test'); and it would return Array['name','age'] . Is this even possible in PHP ?

  • wav file manupalation

    - by kaushik
I want get the details of the wave such as its frames into a array of integers. Using fname.getframes we can ge the properties of the frame and save in list or anything for writing into another wav or anything, but fname.getframes gives information not in integers some thing like a "/xt/x4/0w' etc.. But i want them in integer so that would be helpful for manupation and smoothening join of 2 wav files

  • C++ Why isn't call by reference needed for strcpy()

    - by Ribbs
I have a homework assignment with a number of questions. One is asking why the strcpy() function doesn't need the call by reference operator for CStrings. I've looked through the book numerous times and I can't, for the life of me, find the answer. Can anyone help explain this to me? It is an array of sorts so I would think you would need the call by reference.
