• Creating sitemap for Googlebot - how to mark dynamic content / dynamic subpages?

  I have a website that is an Internet forum. This forum has many categories, and a single category page that contains a lot of subpages with listed threads. This Internet forum is brand new, and about a week ago I filled it with a few hundred thousand threads. I then looked at my Google Webmasters Tools page to see any changes in indexing, but the index went up from 300 to about 1200, so that means it did not index my added threads (although it added something). The following is what my sitemap.xml contains, which I uploaded to their website. Of course there is a lot more code, this is just a snippet for a single category. In my real sitemap file I have all the categories listed as below: <url> <loc>http://mysite.com/Forums/Physics</loc> <changefreq>hourly</changefreq> </url> Now, I would expect Googlebot to go into mysite.com/Forums/Physics, and crawl through all the subpages with thread links, and then crawl inside of each thread and index its content. How can I achieve this? Also if this is unclear, I will add a real link to my website.

  To configure Weblogic server : 1.- Read the following link : How to Use Log4j with WebLogic Logging Services http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/logging/config_logs.html#wp1014610 Here the step by step : 2.- Go to WL_HOME/server/lib and copy wllog4j.jar to the server CLASSPATH, to do this copy the file into DOMAIN_NAME/lib 3.- Download log4j jar (in my case I had not the file) from http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/download.html , in this case the last available version is log4j-1.2.17.jar, and copy the file into DOMAIN_NAME/lib (As step 2). 4.- In this case I activate log4j using WLST (Weblogic Scripting Tool), as bellow : 4.1 .- As you're using windows, execute a terminal window and go to DOMAIN_NAME/bin and run the file setDomainEnv.cmd (this file will set the environment to run java). 4.2 .- Execute the following comands : C:\>java weblogic.WLST wls:/offline> connect('username','password') wls:/mydomain/serverConfig> edit() wls:/mydomain/edit> startEdit() wls:/mydomain/edit !> cd("Servers/$YOUR_SERVER_NAME/Log/$YOUR_SERVER_NAME" wls:/mydomain/edit/Servers/myserver/Log/myserver !> cmo.setLog4jLoggingEnabled(true) wls:/mydomain/edit/Servers/myserver/Log/myserver !> save() wls:/mydomain/edit/Servers/myserver/Log/myserver !> activate() you can use ls() to list the objects under the WLS directory this will activate log4j to use it with WLS. • Difference between tcp recv buffer and tcp receive window size?

  The command shows the tcp receive buffer size in bytes. $ cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_rmem 4096 87380 4001344 where the three values signifies the min, default and max values respectively. Then I tried to find the tcp window size using tcpdump command. $ sudo tcpdump -n -i eth0 'tcp[tcpflags] & (tcp-syn|tcp-ack) == tcp-syn and port 80 and host google.com' tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode listening on eth0, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65535 bytes 16:15:41.465037 IP 172.16.31.141.51614 > 74.125.236.73.80: Flags [S], seq 3661804272, win 14600, options [mss 1460,sackOK,TS val 4452053 ecr 0,nop,wscale 6], length 0 I got the window size to be 14600 which is 10 times the size of MSS.   Can I squeeze more speed out of my router (when it comes to USB attached storage device on it) with open/DD wrt? (Sorry I don't really know such firmwares.) (Guess it works with ntfs-3g? I don't know.) Feel free to make this a real question. Basically the question: Does the change worth it in the terms of speed? (My router is a TP-Link WR1043N. Edited it out of the question since it would make it too specified.)

  Last year the Oracle OpenWorld team decided to use Oracle Mix as a way to select some of the papers for OpenWorld and this year we are following the same process. The majority of papers for this year's conference have already been selected, however, there are some presentation slots still available so the OpenWorld team are giving you the chance to vote on which papers you want to see at this year's OpenWorld conference.The voting process has just opened and will close on June 20. I did a quick search on the list of sessions one paper really caught my eye: Case Study: Real-Time data warehousing and fraud detection with Oracle 11gR2 by Dr. Holger Friedrich.   In my spreadsheet I am collecting time periods when certain values have been changed. The user is restricted to 4 time periods. I would like to show the data based on thos time periods. I've included a mock up' of the data and the type of graph I would like to create. • Beeping Hard Disk - Seagate 250GB Momentus 5400.6

  I have been trying to repair a laptop that simply beeps instead of booting. After taking it apart I have now realised that it is the hard disk beeping. I know that sound strange but I guarantee that is what it is! (Currently powered on it's own with a Sata Mains lead). The beeping is slightly faster than one per second there is a link to a recording below: http://www.pezcuckow.com/files/BeepingHardDisk.m4a This recording was made resting the mic on the hard disk while it was sat on a table on it's own, there are no speakers anywhere near, the sound is coming from the hard disk. • XNA CustomModelAnimationSample problem

  I downloaded the official tutorial from:CustomModelAnimationSample It works fine but when I try to replicate it in my project, it fails to load the Tag property in my model. Is found that the probelm is in the line: skinnedModel = Content.Load<Model>("DudeWalk"); This line loads the model from the DudeWalk.fbx file and with the custom SkinnedModelProcessor. It loads the animations data in the model. After the line the Tag property is full. I stepped into the method and it went to the custom ModelData class. I copied everything from the projects CustomModelAnimationWindows and CustomModelAnimationPipeline to my solution and set all the references. I tried the same line of code and couldn't step in the method. It called the default method or model constructor and after the line the model's Tag propetry was null. I have to load the model through my custom SkinnedModelProcessor class, but how I tell the game to use this class? In the tutroail CustomModelClass the line is changed to: model = Content.Load<CustomModel>("tank"); So I assumed that I have to set the generic type to a custom model class, but the first example works without it. If anyone has some useful advice or some other helpful link, I'll be happy to try it.

• Google chrome IETab login pages

  Hi, I'm using Google Chrome and for certain sites I need to use IE. I've installed IE tab classic but I've noticed then when I have pages that require an active directory popup login that chrome will prompt me for the username/password and then send switch over to IE. IE will always show a message indicating that a connection to the page could not be made and I have to then press the "Refresh the page" link and then be prompted again for the username/password (this time inside IE) and then the the login will work. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can just login once? thanks, Jeff

• Deploying ASP.Net MVC 4 application to IIS 6 - Bundles are not working

  We have a ASP.Net MVC 4 application we are trying to deploy to a Windows 2003 machine running IIS 6. We have it running on a separate app pool and it is setup to use asp.net 4.0. We have a Wildcard application mapping to aspnet_isapi.dll which was required to get the page to appear. The problem we've ran into now is that the bundling which is part of asp.net mvc 4 isn't working. When you try to follow the /js?v=ASDfljkFSDlkjDSF link you get a 404 returned to you. We know it uses extensionless urls but these should be handled by the Wildcard application mapping if I'm not mistaken? Has anyone got this working or have any ideas?

• Always use one slow connection in preference of a "faster" one

  In Windows, there's this automatic metric thing where the metric is selected according to the declared speed of the link. I now have a gigabit LAN routed to a 2MB DSL service and a HSDPA mobile broadband connection. The former is always chosen for Internet packets even though the latter is actually faster. I tried setting the mobile broadband's interface metric to 1 and raising its priority in the advanced settings of the adapter settings, but this does not seem to affect the metric of the default route. The default route to the Ethernet interface always have a lower metric than the mobile broadband interface. Am I missing something here?

• Google search question, front page not showing...

  I know this is probably a dumb question but I hope someone can give me some insight; I was ranked on Google first page of search results for "funny st patricks day shirts" but I was third from the bottom and not familiar enough with SEO, so I signed up for "Attracta" to rank higher. Big mistake. Since using Attracta, I've lost the first page and I'm now on the fourth page in that search. What I noticed is that Google is now just showing a sub-page or side page, (a link from my front page, to a page which has only a few designs in it) this is not where I would want customers to land first... but my front page is not showing in that search anymore. Obviously, the title of this side page is not geared toward that search result, so I know that's why I have the pr drop. Why is my front page not ranking over that page, though? Why is it apparently gone from that search, or so far back no one will ever find it? I need to know how to fix this quick if anyone has any advice at all for me. It's the busiest season for my website and the people who were stealing design ideas from me are all ranked higher than my site now. (I can prove this, lol) So, I'm very frustrated by that. I would be very grateful to have any advice at all as to what I can do to fix this. THANKS in advance for any advice you can offer. Catelyn

• IBM storage ds3400 Cant connect to management using fiber

  i have a problem with a DS3400 IBM storage system we bought a few years back. when i try to manage the storage using its IBM storage management i cant find it using automatic detection even though its connected directly using the fiber and i can see the Logical drives connected and working properly. when i tried to connect the two management Ethernet wires and manage the storage directly by entering the IP address manually i am able to connect however after i make several changes to the controller configuration one of the controllers stops responding and i am not able to ping it directly (since you cant make any changes without being connected to both controllers this is a problem) whats more bizarre is that when i change the IP of the controller that doesn't respond it starts working .. i have found some articles over the web explaining stuff about LUN31 being missing and causing similar problems however all my attempts to manually configure it failed . *link to an example http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-5075711 in short im trying to get my storage to appear in the storage manager when directly connected using only the fiber cable directly attached. thanks in advance

  You might assume that if you have root access to an Oracle Solaris zone, you'd be able to change the root's IP address. If so, you'd proceed along these lines ... First, you'd log in: root@global_zone:~# zlogin user-zone Then you'd remove the IP interface: root@user-zone:~# ipadm delete-ip vnic0 Next, you'd create a new IP interface: root@user-zone:~# ipadm create-ip vnic0 Then you'd assign the IP interface a new IP address (10.0.0.10): root@user-zone:~# ipadm create-addr -a local=10.0.0.10/24 vnic0/v4 ipadm: cannot create address: Permission denied Why would that happen? • How to share files between cPanel accounts?

  I am setting up a multi-site/multi-store Magento installation, and I want each site to have its own cPanel account so I can setup the SSL and dedicated IP properly. I have tried to create a linux group called 'magento' and changed the files I need to share to that group (even added the users to that group), however when I try to access files through my scripts on those accounts it doesn't acknowledge the files exist. I first made a soft symbolic link which didn't work and then including them to their real location but it didn't work. Am I missing a step in allowing which users can access which files? I added the users to the magento group and like I said changed the group of the files I need to share to them but it's still not working. Thanks, Darren

• Importing Delicious export into Firefox 3

  The HTML export file from Delicious creates an HTML file that, while importable into Firefox, loses all of the tags, which pretty much misses the point of delicious. Every link I've found to do the import doesn't work: The online converter Delicious-to-Firefox 3 keeps throwing a server error; the "better" version is down I tried using the trick of syncing Delicious bookmarks to Flock and then restoring that file to my Firefox browser. Although the bookmarks are in Firefox, they don't show up anywhere. I know they're in Firefox because when I create a backup file, they're in the JSON file but they refuse to show in the browser anywhere (clicking on any tag shows an empty list) Basically, I'm looking for someone who has successfully imported their delicious bookmarks, with tags, into Firefox 3.6.13 (Mac).

• Does a Samsung G3 Station external hard drive stop working when power supply is too high?

  I have a Samsung G3 Station 2TB external hard drive (link to PDF specs here). It was working perfectly when I accidentally plugged it in my notebook's power source. The notebook's power source is 19V/3.42A. The hard drive's is 12V/2A and I know that, inside its case, there is regular 2TB SATA drive, along with some sort of adapter. Does this adapter has some kind of power protection? I opened the case and the hard drive board smells bad. Does my data is forever lost or can I replace its board?

• Disable Offline Files (mobsync.exe) on Windows 7 Home

  This morning I was watching the CPU graph of a Windows 7 Home laptop and noticed that every few seconds, the CPU would spike several percent. I watched the processes and determined that it was mobsync.exe (Offline Files) that was the culprit. I tried the usual steps that Googling turns up, and clicking the Manage Offline Files link to bring up the Offline Files dialog to click Disable Synch does not work because the dialog will not display. This makes sense since everything I have read indicates that Offline Files is not even included/supported in the Home version, so I am at a loss as to why it is running at all, let alone why it is sucking up CPU cycles. (My best guess is that it was started when they pressed Win+X to access the Mobility Center.) Of course I can just kill mobsync, but it could always just come back. How/why would mobsync be running on a Home version and how can it be disabled (of course the Group Policy editor is not available on a Home version).

• Google Talk and Video outside of GMail

  I'd like to use Google Talk/Video with having the full gmail or igoogle interface displayed. The ideal setup would be the lightweight popout interface (link below) in a small Fluid.app single instance browser as a stand-alone desktop app. If I log into GMail, the chat sidebar has a phone icon so I can use Google Voice, and a camera icon next to me and some of my contacts. If I log into iGoogle, the chat sidebar has a camera next to me and some contacts, but no phone. I would like to have video chat (and perhaps the phone option) elsewhere. Google provides a chat talkgadget popout URL: http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/popout but there is no phone or camera icon accessible.
