  • What libraries will parse a DTD using PHP

    I need to parse DTDs using PHP and am hoping there's a simple library to help out. Each DTD has numerous <!ENTITY... and <!-- Comment... elements, which I need to act upon. Note that I do not need to validate anything against these DTDs, simply parse them as data files themselves. A few options I've looked at: James Clarke's SD, which is an option of last resort, but I'd like to avoid the complexity of building/installing/configuring code external to PHP. I'm not sure it's even possible in my situation. PEAR has an XML_DTD_Parser, which requires installing/configuring PEAR and a number of pear modules, which I'm also not sure is possible, and would rather avoid. Has anyone used it with success? PHP XML Classes has the class_path_parser, which another site suggested, but it fails to read ENTITY elements. It appears to be using PHP's built in XML parsing capabilities, which use EXPAT. PHP's DOMDocument will validate against a DTD, so must be able to read them, though I don't see how to get at the DTD parser directly at first glance.

    I am a seasoned python,java,...other programmer having a (fairly advanced) mathematical education (so I do understand statistics and data mining, for example) . For various reasons I am thinking to switch to SAS/BI area (I am naming SAS because it might be, for me, a possible way to enter in BI). My question, for whoever might have an experience of both: is it, in BI current state, worth it? I mean, the days of big ideas in BI for business seem to be over (there are the APIs, managers think that they know what you can do with them), and my mathematical background might turn out to be superflous. Also, the big companies now have their data organized, have their BI procedures well established, and trying to analyze it from a different standpoint might not be what they want. Another difference is: while in Java etc. development one codes and codes and codes, I don't know if this is the case for BI; in fact, from what I read on the net, a BI (or OLAP, ...etc) developer, in a big organization, is usually in a state of standby, and does in fact little coding. Any opinions, and in particular strong opinions, will be appreciated.

  • How do I organise my libraries in sub-directories in a web application project

    I am working on a huge web-application with hundreds of dependencies (jar files). I want to organise the jars in sensible way as each piece of software comes with its bunch of jar files and when I want to remove or upgrade version of that software it will be easier to do if kept in sub directories. Problem is that when using a web-server (I'm using tomcat), all libs need to be under WEB-INF/lib folder, you cannot create subdirectories otherwise it doesn't load the jars in subdirectories.     I have just started programming and have made a few small applications in C and C#. My understanding is that programming for web and thing related to web is nowadays a very easy task. Please note this is for personnel learning, not for rent a coder or any money making. An application which can run on any Windows platform even Windows 98. The application should start automatically at a scheduled time and do the following. Connect to a site which displays stock prices summary (high low current open). Capture the data (excluding the other things in the site.) And save it to disk (an SQL database) Please note:- Internet connection is assumed to be there always. Do not want to know how to make database schema or database. The stock exchange has no law prohibiting the use of the data provided on its site, but I do not want to mention the name in case I am wrong, but it's for personal private use only. The data of summary of pricing is arranged in a table such that when copied pasted to MS Excel it automatically forms a table. need steps guidance please, examples, lbraries

  • MC75 using symbol.imaging.device libraries for program

    UPDATE: I found another library in the Windows Mobile - CameraCaptureDialog - this did the job - never did figure out the zero length available devices... Hi all, I have a .net application running on a symbol mc75 (motorola) using the scanner. I am now trying to add functionality for the camera and I am running into issues. To find the 'devices' you are supposed to use the library's 'available devices' function. With the barcode it is symbol.barcode.devices.availabledevices and it returns two items (you can scan from the scanner or using the camera device) However, when I do the camera library it does not find any devices - symbol.imaging.devices.availabledevices returns 0 I can take a picture using the software on the mc75, so I know the functionality is there, I just can't figure out how to get to it programmatically.... Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help!

  • Oracle and Cavium to work together on Java SE 8 on 64-bit ARMv8

    We have been working for some time on a standard Oracle JDK 8 port to the upcoming introduction of 64-bit servers based on the new ARMv8 micro architecture. At ARM TechCon 2013 in Santa Clara, California, we announced a roadmap with an expected GA in 2015. This project is going very well and is ahead of schedule. We will soon be at the point where we will make binaries available outside of Oracle - first in a managed beta program with select customers/partners, and sometime during the fall of 2014 as a public early access program. Unless something changes, we are looking at a early 2015 GA. We should be able to share a detailed ramp down and GA plan by JavaOne 2014. One of the things we (obviously) need to produce a high-quality port is hardware for development and QA. We are therefore happy to announce that we will be collaborating with Cavium on this project. Cavium has been a supporter of the Java ecosystem for a long time and we have numerous joint customers running various Java versions on Cavium MIPS and ARM-based hardware. Cavium has now agreed to provide us with development hardware and engineering resources so that we can certify and optimize the initial Oracle JDK 8 release on Cavium's ThunderX hardware. This is expected to improve quality and performance of JDK 8 on ARMv8 in general, as well as on Cavium's hardware.     Hello. I would like to know if there's a combo like jCryption ([jCryption]) - PHP but for jQuery - ASPX. I mean, I have been searching for a combo to send data both ways (Client-server, server-client) with jQuery to ASPX. The best I found was jCryption that sends data from JavaScrpit to PHP. I need a combo to send data from JavaScrpit to ASPX. Any ideas?? PD: Please don't tell me to use HTTPS, it's not enough to ensure the data communication on a client - server application.

What I need is a few examples of real parsers, which actually do something during parsing. (Such as building a DOM tree during parsing an XML string). Please help! ;)

  • Security Alert for CVE-2010-0886 and CVE-2010-0887 Released

Oracle just released a Security Alert to announce the availability of fixes for two vulnerabilities (CVE-2010-0886 and CVE-2010-0887) affecting Oracle Java SE and Oracle Java For Business. Both vulnerabilities only affect Java when running in a 32-bit web browser. These vulnerabilities are not present in Java running on servers or standalone Java desktop applications and do not impact any Oracle server based software. The first vulnerability (CVE-2010-0886) affects the Java Deployment Toolkit (version 6 update 10 through 19) on Windows only. The second vulnerability (CVE-2010-0887) affects the Java Plug-in (version 6 update 18 and 19) on Windows, Solaris and Linux. Both vulnerabilities may allow an attacker to run commands on the user's system with the privileges of the user, whose system may have become compromised by visiting a malicious web site. Oracle rated the severity of both vulnerabilities with a CVSS Base Score of 10.0 because many Windows users grant themselves administrative privileges. However, on other platforms, or for Windows users with limited privileges, the CVSS Base Score is only 7.5, because a successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities cannot result in a full compromise of the affected system. Users can quickly determine if they are running vulnerable versions of Java by pointing their browser to http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml. Java SE users can visit http://www.java.com and download the most recent release of Java SE to address these vulnerabilities. Because of the criticality of these vulnerabilities, and the publicity they received as a result of their disclosure before the availability of a fix, Oracle recommends that all customers and Java users update their Java installation to the most recent version (6 update 20).   • Migrating Forms to Java or ADF, the truth and no FUD

    The question about migrating Forms to Java (or ADF or APEX) comes up time and time again.  I wanted to pull some core information together in a single blog post to address this question. The first question I always ask is "WHY" - Forms may still be a viable option for you so "if it ain't broke don't fix it".  Bottom line is whatever anyone tells you, its going to be a considerable effort and cost to migrate from Forms to something else so the business is going to want to know WHY you spend all those hard earned dollars switching from something that might have been serving you quite adequately. Second point, if you are going to switch, I would encourage you NOT to look at building a Forms clone.  So many times I see people trying to build an ADF application and EXACTLY mimic the Forms model - ADF is NOT a Forms clone.  You should be building to the sweet spot of your target technology, not your 20 year old client/server technology.  This is also the chance for the business to embrace change, so maybe look at new processes, channels and technology options that weren't available when you first developed your Forms applications.     Hi All, I had some fairly simple code in my app to invoke Edit Contact activity on a known good contact index that worked in Android 1.6 but is broken for me now in Android 2.1 on the Droid.   • Compiled Haskell libraries with FFI imports are invalid when imported into GHCI

    I am using GHC 6.12.1, in Ubuntu 10.04 When I try to use the FFI syntax for static storage, only modules running in interpreted mode (ie GHCI) work properly. Compiled modules have invalid pointers, and do not work. I'd like to know whether anybody can reproduce the problem, whether this an error in my code or GHC, and (if the latter) whether it's a known issue. I'm using sys_siglist because it's present in a standard library on my system, but I don't believe the actual storage used matters (I discovered this while writing a binding to libidn). If it helps, sys_siglist is defined in <signal.h> as: extern __const char *__const sys_siglist[_NSIG]; I thought this type might be the problem, so I also tried wrapping it in a plain C procedure: #include<stdio.h> const char **test_ffi_import() { printf("C think sys_siglist = %X\n", sys_siglist); return sys_siglist; } However, importing that doesn't change the result, and the printf() call prints the same pointer value as show siglist_a. My suspicion is that it's something to do with static and dynamic library loading.     My background(If it's too long, just skip it please ; ) ): I am Java programmer(because of demand): mostly teacher for other students, worked on few thesis for others, but during my journey I discovered that .NET and Microsoft's tools are on at least two levels higher than Java and its tools so I want to learn more about them. I programmed little bit on Windows Phone(NFC Tags, TCP Clients, guitar tuner using internal microphone, simple RSS), used WPF, integrated WPF with Windows Forms, Apple Bonjour(.NET), I have expierience with IP cameras and with unusal problems, I learn Android, but I don't like it at all. Problem: I was asked by my friend to create CRM for small new company. There will maximum 20 workers in the company working at computers in few cities in the country(Poland). They just want to store contracts with the clients and client's data. I am not sure what exacly they do but probably sell apartments so there will be at most few thousands of contracts to store in far future. Now I am totally new to CRM but I want to learn. I have few questions: Should the data be stored on a server in the company's building running 24/7 or cloud. If cloud which one? Should I use ASPX or WPF. I read one topic about it but as far as I know aspx sites can be viewed from every device with internet browser: tablets, phones(Android, WP, iOS) and computers at the same time- so the job is done once and for all(Am I right?), I don't know nothing about aspx. Can WPF be also used in manner that does not need to port it for other platforms?

  • Kohana input & validation libraries - overlap?

    I'm familiarizing myself with Kohana. I've been reading up on the Input library, which automatically pre-filters GET and POST data for me, and the Validation libary, which helps with form validation. Should I use both together? The examples given in the Validation library documentation use the unfiltered $_POST array instead of $this->input->post(). Seems to me it would be more secure to chain the two, but the two sets of documentation seem to make no mention of each other, so I don't know if this would be redundant or not.
